《Ghost of My Life》chapter 8

"...this is weird." I said, turning to look at Ghostface, instead of his handsome everyday face, it was the mask. He chuckled and nodded,
"Admittedly, yes. But it gets the job done. Observe." He said, pointing toward my sister's house. I watched the windows in her house, watching the lights turn on between rooms that my sister traveled through, making her path to the living room. The only sound resonating through the night air was his breathing over mine. It was near a pant with excitement and anticipation of the kill, stimulating my senses as he looked at me through the mask. He chuckled to himself, and i could almost feel the intense gaze.
"Sweetheart you are so, very beautiful." He said, lovingly. I was taken aback for a moment, but my heart rate spiked and i couldn't stop the blush that climbed to my cheeks. He shifted towards me, his body inching across the dirt to be closer to my side, he lifted his hand to gently set it on the mask, his fingers pressing into the soft flesh of my neck and jaw. He hummed as he stroked his thumb across the hard plastic mask.
"You are my only exception, dear. Your sister is going to die tonight, horribly. Are you sure you want to go through with this?" He asked sweetly, his voice dripped with eagerness for her to say something.
The more i thought, maybe this was a bad idea...she was my sister. She's so close to me that killing her might be hard to get away with. But this Ghostface plan should draw eyes away from me. I'm with the actual Ghostface. This was smart. This was my free ticket. I began to think of every single time that sister of mine betrayed me, made fun of me, stole boyfriends and was in general nasty my entire life. Every incident that led me to loathe her.
"I want that bitch dead." I said before i could even think any further about it. He laughed softly.
"Then dead she will be, love." He cooed, then took his hand to look back at the house.
The light in the living room was on.
"That's our cue. Sister dearest is sitting on the couch, probably scrolling through her Instagram." I said, watching the now motionless, well lit house.
"Follow me doll, and stay close. We want to be quiet." He said, guided us through the thicket of her yard, his footsteps almost nonexistent on the damp ground. Following behind him was no challenge, and felt too fluid as he pried at her bathroom window with his knife, popping it open with a satisfied hum. He extended his arm inside and slipped in with with only the sound giving him away was the swish of the fabric of his jacket slipping across the surface of the window. I stepped to the sil, his hand extending back outside for me to take.

"What a gentleman." I giggled quietly as i took his hand, the unfamiliar heat rose in my chest and face as i slipped inside, my feet were quiet but the step was a little too hard for my liking. Too hard to match his.
He ran his finger across the cheek of the mask, a gentle chuckle echoed from behind the mask. I couldn't help the soft sigh at the loving touch. None of my exes ever touched me like this. No one had. I like his gentle touches.
He retracted his hand when a shout from the living room drew both our attention.
"I don't understand...I thought you said you loved me!" My sister's voice muffled any and all noise both Ghostface and I made as we stepped into the hallway, nearly in sync. It was pleasant having someone else on the same wavelength. Sidling along the wall to reach the shadowed doorway of the big living room she was standing in. I could see Ghost in the doorway of the kitchen to my right, ready with his knife. Waiting for her to turn around. He cartoonishly waved at me and i almost couldn't stifle the giggle that bubbled up in my chest. He reached to the inside of his coat and produced his iconic camera, and decided to start changing the roll of film right there in the doorway. He waited till Marie tossed her phone on the couch and snapped the case shut, loudly. She jumped out of her skin and looked at him.
"Good evening, tramp." He said sternly. "Don't scream, or i'll gut you like a fish." His voice grew dark as my sister's eye's went wide with fear. She whimpered and dropped to her knees, her pretty (e/c) eyes turned red and watered as her lip quivered. Ghostface approached her slowly, spinning the roll of film to draw it through the camera.
"Do you know why i'm here, Marie?" He asked, gently setting his camera on the couch beside my sister.
"N-No...Please don't h-hurt me!" She begged so pathetically.
"Marie, I'm not going to hurt you. There's someone else who wants you dead very much, but you're their prize." He looked at the doorway that cloaked my presence, and waited until Marie followed his gaze before i took the moment to stride in, unsheathing my great ceramic hunting knife from it's holster on my thigh. She let out a loud sob and whimpered some more, tears streamed down her face.

"No! Please! I'm sorry for whatever i've done!"
"Nowww you're sorry?" I said, scoffing. She stifled another sob and dropped her head to the floor. I felt my lip twitch at her bowed head, that won't do.
"No no no, look at me!" I snarled. She snapped her head up to look at me.
"So, Marie." I said, plopping myself on her couch. "Do you know what you've done?" I ask.
"N-no..not to you. I'm sorry!"
"Stop your pathetic blubbering already." I snapped, overtly sick of it already. She sniffed and tried to collect herself, failing miserably. I sighed, and Ghostface just shook his head, tusking softly at her.
"What's the worst thing you've done this month?" Ghostface asked Marie, making her look at him.
"...I.."
"Think hard. What terrible thing could we be talking about?"
"...I slept with my sister's boyfriend.?" She said, her voice barely above a whisper.
"And she's a winner! What's the prize, my lovely assistant?" He turned his gaze up at me expectantly. I felt the blush creep over my cheeks at his flirting. Marie looked at me with pleading eyes that screamed to spare her, but unfortunately for her, i don't believe in mercy.
"Painful death." I shrugged, thumbing the edge of my shiny hunting knife. Her lower lip quivered as she looked at me.
"I just have to know first.." I said, "Before i kill you, why? Why did you sleep with your sister's boyfriend, among all the other shitty things you've ever done to her." Ghostface rose to his feet, taking a few steps back as i came to tower over my kneeling little sister.
"I...I wanted to get pregnant and steal him from her. She didn't deserve him, but now he wants nothing to do with me." She said. I felt something in me snap.
"You....you wanted to have your sister's boyfriend's baby, in an attempt to make him your boyfriend..?" I reiterated, floored.
"But now that he found out why i wanted him in the first place he's gone. He left me for some other girl.."
"It's what you deserve." I said, pressing the knife into her shoulder, She whined as the point pierced her flesh, which turned to screaming as i stabbed the knife into her bones. She grabbed my wrist but this just resulted in her receiving hard kick to the chest. She wheezed as i straddled her stomach, pinning her to the floor. The knife in my hand took a life of it's own as it brought down into her ribcage. She let out a shrill shriek of pain as i continued, the blood spraying and flying through the air like paint, splattering like artwork on her white walls. The world around me melted away, including Ghostface as i sliced and stabbed and tore at her skin. Her screaming stopped with a gurgling as i brought the knife into her throat, and let it rest there. I panted, out of breath, and sat up. Marie's body grew colder and still under me, and i couldn't feel her breath or heartbeat anymore. I heard the distinct click of Ghost's camera as he snapped a picture of the final product. He looked at it, and yanked off his mask. His eyes were wide with frenzy, and he looked at me, a grin stretched across his face.
"That was magnificent, my love." He said, breathless. He clutched the camera to his chest and stepped forward to offer a hand and help me stand. He took it back once i was on my feet and he slid the bloody mask from my face. He brought his lips on mine and kissed me with a passion i had never experienced. His breath was hot, and he was shaking. He nibbled at my lip in a desperate motion to get closer. His arms snaked around my body and he pulled my hips flush against his.
"Stay over tonight." I muttered on his mouth, earning a pleased moan.
"Of course, dollface. We can leave the lovely art you made." He growled, looking to the room behind me, examining each individual splatter of blood and viscera.
"Such a beautiful display.." He groaned, snapping a picture of the room one more time.
