amnesia. out of everything, it had to be amnesia. because of me, she's ended up in the hospital like this. now, she can't remember me.
sighing softly, i stared at the hospital floor just sitting in the waiting room. just then, soojin's mother came by and sat in the chair next to me.
"it'll be okay, yoongi," she softly began to say, "she has to remember."
"and what if she doesn't? what if she really does not remember who i am? the memories of us?"
"she needs time. i know, it's a lot to take in. but the only we way we can help is to show her the memories."
"if only we wouldn't have went out biking. if i only would have never sped up past her, none of this would have happened. she would have never ended up in the hospital... and she wouldn't have amnesia," i softly said as my eyes began to tear up.
"don't blame yourself. i know my daughter loves you very much and she would not want you to beat yourself up like this."
"but what can i do to help bring the memories back?"
"relive them," her mother softly said. i picked up my head and slowly looked at her as she gave a small smile to me.
"if she can't remember the memories, relive them with her. or even make new memories with each other," she added on.
and with that, i slowly smiled back at her. "you're right. thank you, ms. jung," i softly said.
she warmly smiled at me, her eyes sadly looking at mine. "you love my daughter so much... don't you.."
"more than anything."
the next 2 days, soojin was finally released from the hospital and was allowed to go back home where she could rest easily. i accompanied them back to her home where ms. jung had let me stay over to be with her daughter.

"if you need anything, i'll be in my room," she told soojin and i.
soojin nodded and had laid on the couch comfortably. once we were alone, i slowly walked over to the couch and sat on it, giving each other space. since she had amnesia and i knew she didn't remember me, i did not want to make her uncomfortable.
"soojin-ah," i began to say.
"before you say anything," she suddenly said. she looked over at me, her eyes looking back at mine as i did to her. she looked at me like i was a complete stranger.
"i just want to say that... even though i can't rememeber you and i might never get my memories back, i still want to try. it might be weird to you, but.... everytime i see your face... or think of your name, something hurts inside of me. i-i just felt like i needed to tell you that..."
i sat there blankly as i tried to take everything in. looking at her, she had her hands folding on her lap and her hair fell past her face.
"alright. thank you... for telling me."
and then she gave a nod of her head. maybe there is still a chance. maybe it is possible that her memories can return back to her.

My father scolds me sharply. I flinch at the anger in his voice and quickly retract my hand, inches from the trunk of the tree. "Sorry father, I couldn't help it. The trees are just so beautiful," I whine turning towards him. His face softens slightly and he scoops me up into his muscled arms. I wrap my small arms around his neck and bury my face into his shoulder. He hugs me tightly and carries me away from the forest. "Why can't we go into the forest?" I ask, looking over his shoulder to see the red and gold leaves slowly disappear from view as we climb the hill. "The forest is a dangerous place," he sighs. "How can something so beautiful be so dangerous?" I mutter in confusion. "The danger is in its beauty."**Cover by SodaliteSilver**
