"have you ever had a girlfriend?"
i sat there silently thinking to myself, until i finally spoke up.
"no... i never had a girlfriend before...," i softly said, "is it weird i've never had a girlfriend before?"
"no, i don't think it's weird. i mean, i've never had a boyfriend either, so i guess we're pretty much the same," she replied.
"hm, you're right."
"yeah..."
slowly, i looked at her. "do you wish... you had a boyfrend?" i asked.
"er... well, i always did wonder... what it would feel like to have someone, to love and to care for you, to have someone make you feel important and special to them," she softly said, "but i mean, it'll be awhile before i could ever find the right guy," she chuckled nervously as she twirled her chair around.
i watched her actions and saw how bothered she was by something. i tried debating whether i should ask her what she was thinking about... or not?
looking at her, i noticed how her hair look cute in a messy bun that slanted off to the side. one of her knees were brought up against her chest as she laid her chin on top of it. i couldn't help but think how cute she actually looked right now. but of course, i can't be a creep and tell her that. pabo, pabo, pabo.
so i decided to bring up another topic just to get my mind off of that.
"how do you know seoyul?" i asked her.
"well, ever since i came to our school, she always thought that it was fun picking on me. and so, she did just that. everything that i entered into, she want competition against me," soojin explained.
i made an 'o' shape with my mouth, "wow, how fascinating."

"how about you? how do you know seoyul?" she asked me.
"we used be friends back in elementary. but something happened that had her personality change. she wasn't always that bad," i told her.
"ah, i see," she softly said.
"yeah," i said as i awkwardly nodded my head.
"do you like anyone?" she asked. it was sudden and quick to the point, but it certainly caught me off guard.
"do i like anyone?" i repeated her question. she looked at me and pursed her lips together, as she nodded her head. i coughed awkwardly and straightened up my back.
"erm, well... i-i don't know. i guess i do," i said smiling slightly. but her facial expression became slightly... sad.
"o-oh, i see. so...?"
"so...?" i asked slightly confused.
"who is it? who do you like?" she asked me.
"oh, well, i ca----"
there was a sudden knock on the door when soojin's mom popped in.
"sorry to disturb your mini chat, but dinner's ready," she said. i slowly got up to my feet as i wiped my hands down my jeans as soojin stood up as well.
"alright, we'll be right there," soojin softly said. her mother gave a small nod and then, left leaving the door slightly open. i walked out her room with soojin following after me, but she didn't say anything. she was quiet, too quiet.
we walked out to the dining room and saw the pots and plates of food settled on the surface of the table. in the kitchen, i saw ms. jung trying to carefully carry a hot pot to the table.
"let me help you," i quickly said as i helped carry the pot carefully to the table. "oh thank you!"

i smiled to her as i placed the pot on top of a mat and then moved back. soojin on the other hand had already sat in a chair. awkwardly, i sat in a chair next to her and pulled myself closer to the table.
"thank you for the food," soojin said as she grabbed a spoon.
"thank you ms. jung," i said bowing slightly.
"you both are very welcome. eat, go ahead."
soojin went ahead and started to without saying another word. awkwardly, i looked at her and started to get some food of my own. for some reason, i felt like something was bothering. was it probably me?
i took a bite of the wings and ate some rice with it. and when i chewed the food, i savored every taste. her mother's cooking was amazing.
"how is it yoongi?" ms. jung suddenly asked. i covered my mouth as i chewed and politely replied, "it's really great." her mother gave a lively smile as she continued to eat.
my eyes slightly shifted to soojin, who kept her head down and ate quietly to herself. i so badly wanted to ask if she was okay, but for the sake of her mother being at the table, i didn't.
the more time i spent at their household, the more i had gotten closer to them. soojin's mom was wonderful, as she had almost reminded me a lot about my own mom. it soon came to the time where i had to leave.
i was at the door putting on my shoes as ms. jung walked me out.
"soojin! say goodbye to your friend!" she said. soojin came down the hallway and slowly approached me with arms crossed together across her chest.
"oh, yoongi. i have some rice cakes you might want to take home. soojin said you liked them, so i'll give you some. wait here," her mother cooed.
her mother fled the scene into the kitchen leaving soojin and i alone for a brief moment.
"hey, you okay?" i asked softly. she looked up at me and then slightly looked back down.
"yeah."
"you don't sound like it. did i do something?" i softly asked. a small sigh escaped her lips as she brought her arms down to her side.
"no... you didn't do anything wrong," she softly said.
"why the gloomy face?"
she pouted cutely this time as she looked at me.
"pabo, you should be smiling," i chuckled slightly. she glared at me and punched my arm slightly.
"quit calling me pabo," she laughed softly. the two of us laughed in union until soojin's mother came back with a container tightly sealed with rice cakes inside.
"are you sure it's okay to take it like this?" i asked her as i politely accepted the container.
"ah, don't worry. when you're done eating it, you can just return the container," she said.
i bowed politely as i held the container in my hands, "thank you a lot, and thank you for the nice dinner. i enjoyed it a lot."
"anytime yoongi-ah. please, don't be afraid to come more often."
"eomma," soojin whispered slightly embarrassed.
i smiled warmly to her mother. "thank you."
"goodnight. go home safely now," ms. jung said waving slightly as i exited the front door.
"goodnight, ms. jung!" i met soojin's eyes and smiled. "goodnight soojin." she returned the smile shyly as she tucked the strands of her hair behind her ears.
"goodnight yoongi."

The book of forever
An experimental diary of sorts recounting my life and experiences, written as a slightly whimsical scifi story about setting off from the past to unknown lands, rebuilding from nothing and finding myself again. The first section of the book contains matched chapters, a chapter for a interlude, both happening at the same time roughly The second section of the book contains more one off stories as we follow one of the travelers explore their heart as well as a unknown land, growing in the process. All of the text here was written in 10 syllable chunks, this reads like a epic of sorts, just with more philosophical focus and POV jumps. Hope you enjoy! >Updates may be sporadic as I only write when I have something about myself I want to share The chapters can all be read individually, although there may be some crossovers between them they work as single poems. You start at whatever chapter you want since these are a collection of roughly connected poems (although you'll notice tie ins and references to eachother)
