Deaton's Vet Clinic
I walk around the clinic organizing things. Closing the clinic down. I shut the windows, pull down the curtains. I walk into the kennels room and see no one here, no one should be here.
I walk back into my office and begin to work alone. I begin to mix potions and prepare them for Scott when he'll need them. I pour them into little bottles and store them in the fridge.
As I store them in the fridge I see the blood sample I've been working with for a long time. Chris' blood. Stiles stole this bag of blood from the hospital to figure a way to cure Chris of his Frost curse.
Killer Frost left Beacon Hills but we couldn't just give up on him. I couldn't give up on him. Chris was my partner. My friend. A son to me. Stiles and I both agreed under secrecy that we would find something to cure Chris. We've hidden it for an entire year from Scott and the rest.
I grab the bag sample going to work on it again. I begin to mix his blood with new chemicals hoping I can figure this out. As I mix the samples together I begin to hear the dogs in the kennels barking.
.
I stop the mixing and pause what I'm doing. I walk out of my office and walk into the kennel room seeing the dogs continuing to bark. I look at one of the pit bulls and see them cold and hiding in the dark.
"What are you scared of?" I ask the dog, talking to myself. Suddenly I feel a cold chill crawl up my spine. It gets cold in the clinic and I turn around knowing that something is off.
Stiles told me that Chris has the ability to manipulate the temperature in the air. That's his warning, his presence wherever he goes.

I walk out of the kennels room and walk into my office. I spot Chris and...
"Ethan?" I say confused and they both look at me. They look different. Chris never appeared to me before he left as Killer Frost. His hair is an icy white silver, his skin cold white, and eyes glowing icy blue.
"I know you're closed, but I love dogs." Chris says as his voice echoes distorted. He stands in the middle of the room by the fridge and opens it and takes out all the glass bottles of potions.
"Chris." I say nervously and he looks at the potions very silly like. Ethan stands in the back watching his every move and mine as well. I walk into the room trying to get to Chris. Hoping I can free him of this demon.
"Don't know if you heard Doctor, but Chris is gone." Chris says and then throws the potion to the floor. The potion shatters and spills all over. "Oops." He smirks and then stares at me. This isn't Chris anymore.
"Then who are you?" I say trying to buy me time for myself. I need to get to my gun under the metal table. I continue to walk in closer and Killer Frost circles walks slowly around the room.
"Stiles didn't tell you?... Bummer." Killer Frost says as he walks towards me. "You see, with Scott and the pack not having Chris around, no one can help with saving their asses when they get hurt anymore." He says as he stares dead into my eyes, through my soul. "Then I remember, they still have you around to help them. And honestly, I can't have you around trying to save my victims." He says and I finally get close to the table. I sneak my hands under the table when he doesn't look at me and throws more potions to the ground.

I quickly take the gun out and aim at him. As I do Killer Frost quickly looks at me and throws a blast of ice towards the gun. The gun completely freezes in my hand and becomes too cold to even hold. I drop the gun to the floor and panic.
"You thought I forgot you had that? I might not be Chris anymore, but I still know all of your tricks and all of your weaknesses. I know how each and every one of you think and what you will all do next. That's why Lykos chose me." Frost says and as he says Lykos I grow fear in my bones. The myth of the unknown god of the wolves. I never knew it was real, it was all just a myth.
I raise my hands in the air surrendering as Killer Frost aims his cold hands at me as I watch the fog created from his hands flow in the air. He's going to kill me. "Chris don't do this. I can cure you, I've been working on it and it's almost done. You can come back home!" I beg for him so I can buy me some time and maybe save Chris from this ice demon personality. "You don't wanna hurt me. Or anyone."
Chris tilts his head with a smirk. He then shoots an icicle at me and it hits me in the shoulder. I fall to the ground as the icicle freezes my body making it hard to react or move.
"You can't cure what's been cured." Killer Frost says as he walks towards me with his fog following him. "And you're wrong. I want to do this." Killer Frost says and then squats down next to me starring at me as his silver white hair falls on his face.
"Chris! There is still good in you!" I shout at Chris as I stare at his icy blue eyes. I know he's there. Killer Frost clenches down his jaw and I can tell. I close my eyes and picture a warm memory. Of Chris.
"Then tell me Doctor... " I hear Chris's voice and I open my eyes and Killer Frost quickly smacks down an icicle into my heart and freezes me. I begin to gasp for air and shake violently as I stare at him. He takes the icicle out of my chest and gets up from the ground starring at me, watching me die. He's cold.
"Don't... let it... you." I say as my last breath and fall back, trying to make these last moments easy for me. Killer Frost walks away from me and freezes the entire place, and then turns on the alarm to alert the pack.
I watch Ethan from the corner of my eye stare at me sad. He clenches his jaw afterwards knowing he can't do this anymore. I don't think he can take it.
"Let's go! They'll be here in any minute." Killer Frost says and then Ethan follows Killer Frost as they both walk out. I close my eyes as the pain gets to me.

Delve
Summary – Level 1: Delve is an isekai litrpg that follows an average guy who just happened to wake up in a forest one day. He wasn’t summoned to defeat the demon lord or to save the world or anything like that, at least as far as he can tell. The only creature there to greet him was a regular old squirrel. Soon enough, he meets other people, only to discover that he can’t speak the language, and that not everybody immediately trusts random pajama-wearing strangers they met in the middle of the wilderness. Things generally go downhill from there, at least until the blue boxes start appearing. Delve is a story about finding your way in a new, strange, and dangerous world. It’s about avoiding death, figuring out what the heck is going on, and trying to make some friends along the way. It’s not about getting home, so much as finding a new one. Did I mention that there will be math? Summary – Level 2: Okay, but what are you in for, really? Well, this story is supposed to be realistic, or at least, as realistic as a fantasy litrpg can be. The main character doesn’t instantly become an all-powerful god and murder-hobo his way across the universe. Delve is, at its heart, a progression fantasy, but that progression is meant to feel earned. The numbers in this story actually mean something. Everything is calculated, and if you find a rounding error, I expect you to tell me about it. That said, if math isn’t your cup of tea, there is plenty more that the story has to offer. Characters are meant to feel real, and progression isn’t only about personal power; it’s also about allies, connections, and above all, knowledge. Figuring out how the system works is a significant theme. ... What, you want more details? Okay, fine, but this is going to get a bit spoiler-y. Are you sure? Yes! Really sure? I mean, this summary is practically half as long as the first chap– Now! Okay, okay! The main character becomes a magic user, but he takes a route that is not very popular in adventurer culture, namely that of a support. There is a full magic system with various spells, skills, and abilities, but our MC decides that aura magic is the way to go, and that the only stat worth investing in is mana regeneration. Most people at the Adventurer’s Guild think that this makes him a bit of a dumbass, but he’s playing the long game. We’ll see how that works out for him, won’t we? Because of his build, the MC levels up fast, at least compared to normal people. There are no cheats, though, and he is limited in other ways. There are some clear and pretty obvious downsides to his build. That’s what makes it fun, no? Morals? Our MC has them. Again, we’ll see how that works out for him. Realism, remember? Would you be okay with killing someone and looting their body? I sure hope not. POV? The focus is on the main character, but there will be occasional varying perspectives from people around him, or involved in the events related to the main plot. It isn’t going to jump all over the place. Tech is standard medieval stasis. No smartphones, but the MC does have a technical background. Computers and their programming might be involved. There might even be a bit of uplifting down the road, who knows? Anyway, it isn’t the focus. He isn’t going to invent the gun in chapter 1 and change the face of warfare. Romance is not a major focus. Friendships are more the name of the game, though there will be some characters in romantic relationships. There is exploration, though not as much of the geographical nature as you might expect. It is more about exploration of the system and the culture. The pace is slow and detailed, sometimes verging on slice-of-life. The action is meant to be realistic and grounded in the numbers, and it is intended to have meaning beyond simply punching things until they stop moving. The general tone of the story is grey, and some parts can get quite dark. People die. Sometimes, people with names, but not anywhere near GoT level. There is plenty of light, too, though, to balance the darkness. The world is dangerous, but overcoming that danger is why we’re all here, isn’t it? Anyway, if you’ve made it this far through the summary, you clearly like words. I hope you enjoy the story! Cover by Miha Brumec Summary Updated: 2020-06-14
