"Sorry, cold hands." My mother's worker says as he puts in a band aid on my vein. He stares at me and I stare back at him with a small smile.

"Didn't even notice." I joke with him and he smiles lightly.

"I'm Nigel by the way." He smiles at me and I smile lightly too.

"We're gonna figure this out Chris. Let's get you to the lab."

I walk into the lab as I see my mom setting a lava like substance up as it gets really hot in the room. "What's this?" I ask her as I stare at it flowing down.

"It's to test how your ability affects molecular motion. That shaft is solid tungsten and it's heated to over 2,000 degrees. I want you to cool it down, and when we determine how you can do that, then we can figure out the best way to help you. The best thing we could do in little time." She says bragging about her knowledge and stares at me as I stare at the Lava feeling the heat, hungry for it.

"So this is where you've been for the last couple of months." I say as the heat touches my skin.

"I had to reschedule my day for this Chris-" she says and stops, then stares at me. "Whenever you're ready." She says and I raise my hands letting go.

My curse freezes the solid tungsten slowly and I continue trying to let it fully go but not letting Killer Frost free. "Don't hold back." Nigel says and I let it all go freezing it all as my ice takes over the heat.

I stop realizing that it's completely frozen, the 2,000 degrees of heat, is gone. I back away in shock also as Nigel and my mom are also in shock. Nigel runs to the computer to see the statistics and my mom turns me around.

"How long have you had these abilities?" She asks me being serious as she knows about the pack.

"I've had them for a couple of weeks now. They manifested when Theo died." I tell her as she raises her eyebrow confused on who Theo is. Of course she doesn't know, hell she doesn't even know where I've been for the last weeks. Seems so sucked up into her work to even care for me anymore. All because she's grieving dad's death.

"I told you that you needed new friends!" She complains, to me and sighs. "Who knows about this?"

"Just you and Lydia."

"Why not your boyfriend what's his face?" She says snapping her fingers. "Ethan! Why doesn't he know yet?"

"Because he's been gone for forever mom." I say looking down and she tries her best to support me.

"Well whatever is happening and what you're going through, ." My mom says putting her hand on my shoulder trying to get into this moment and I smile lightly.

"You have no idea what I've been going through mom." I say as I've almost been killed by Nogitsune-Stiles, kidnapped by Theo who brainwashed me, several occasions where I've been at the same spot the beast of gevaudan was, and kidnapped by scientists to do research on my curse. She has no idea where I've been. Although I've been through all that terror, the worst is Ethan leaving me.

Suddenly I hear the computer that Nigel is sitting start beeping. "Doctor! You might wanna check this out!" Nigel yells as my mom runs to the computer and I stay behind.

"She absorbed that energy? How?!" She says starring at the screen as it shows vitals and everything.

"I'm not sure, but once we figure that out, it could change what we're studying here." Nigel says inspired to continue using me and I grow nervous.

I grab my things from a private room getting ready to head out since my mother will try to figure out what to do with the tests she took of me. I start hoping that maybe she is successful in figuring this out.

I begin to walk to the door to leave until Nigel enters and sees me. He greets me with a small smile and stands in my way. "You're leaving us already?"

"Yeah... things between me and my mother are... ."

"We can help you?" He begs for me to stay but I shake my head.

"It's fine don't worry. I'll figure it out myself." I say nicely and then he presses a button closing the door. I raise an eyebrow and look at him confused.

"What are you doing?" I ask nervously as he circles around me.

"Sorry Frosty, but you're not going anywhere." He says threatening my aggressively and I run to the door trying to open the door.

"Let me out of here! Open these doors!" I yell as I bang my fists on the door.

"I said no! I'm sick of working day after day, night after night, only to have my work benefit your mother. The information that I can get from you, I can finally get out of this place. So you're going to stay here until I get everything that I need." He says and I turn around feeling the rush of anger run through. Usually I would feel scared, but ever since I got this curse, I've felt and . I'm no damsel in distesss no more...

"You are going to test me." I say angered letting that pain out. I get close to him and he stares right into my cold eyes.

"Yes! I am!" He says grabbing my bicep trying to drag me and I quickly grab his wrist and start freezing him giving him a severe frost bite.

"" I say in my echoed voice as he drops to the floor and I let go of him as he suffers on the floor screaming. I feel Killer Frost and this feels great, I feel free.

"Chris!" My mother yells as she burst through the door running towards Nigel and me. "Don't do this! This isn't you!" My mom looks at me starring into my true cold eyes.

"You don't know anything about me mother." I say attacking her emotions as I try to figure out how to kill Nigel.

"I-I know I wasn't much of a mother, but I know I have a lot to make for, but I know I didn't raise a killer." She says and she's right, I'm not a killer. "For whatever it is worth, I am so sorry." She says apologizing me for leaving me at the house for hours and hours without seeing her. Suddenly I feel all that anger and pain go away. I feel .

"It's worth a lot." I say calming down and stop using my powers and look over to her.

"Now go." She says supporting me trying to protect me.

"What about-" I say looking at Nigel struggling on the floor groaning as his wrist and arm is completely frozen with frost.

"I'll take care of him, nobody will ever know about this. Just go." She tells me pushing me away and I nod at her as she gives me a smile and I run away.
