《Future untold》Icicle

Carry had never seen Caitlin so mad until Barry confronted her about her dad. She shouted at him angrily, telling him to leave it alone. To be honest, Carry didn't trust him either, however, she did not want to be yelled at. It barely lasted a day before the team discovered Caitlin's father was actually Icicle.
Caitlin decided to ask her father about the serum again, but before she could speak, Icicle revealed himself. He released tiny ice shards into the air and disabled the team. It felt as if she had breathed in glass. It burned as Carry and the others tried to breathe. Finally after a few minutes, clear air rushed into the team's lungs.
"He'll have to get the temperature down to -450° in order for the serum to work." Cisco pulled up an image of a place with a massive chamber in the center, "now according to my scans, this is the closest place to cool off."
The team tried to get Carry to stay back, however she ended up going. Carry held tightly onto her gun as her, Cisco, Ralph, and Caitlin jumped through the portal. This would be her first mission. Nora and Barry ran in but didn't last long, it was too cold for them. Everyone except me and Caitlin fell to the ground.
"The air is at 320, you have one minute!" Iris said through the coms. Caitlin tried to shoot at Icicle but it didn't work, so Carry tried hers, it also didn't work. "Guys what is happening?" Iris questioned in our ears.
"The temperature in the room is dropping, the air is so cold their atoms are hitting near stasis," Caitlin explained.
"Guys the air is at 350°, he's going to be able to go full icicle soon." Carry began to feel the cold, she wasn't as strong as Caitlin.

"Caitlin and Carry, you guys must be immune," Iris told us.
"But how? Killer Frost is gone and Carry doesn't even have any powers." They looked at each other, completely confused.
"But clearly not." Sherlock's accent came through the coms.
Carry rubbed her arms as the temperature hit 400°. She was feeling it even more now, but she didn't tell anyone.
"You can do it... concentrate," Cisco said to Caitlin as he shivered. She stood up and tried to get her dad back. However it didn't work. The alarm sounded at 460° Fahrenheit. Icicle raised the needle to his neck to erase Tom forever.
"No!" Killer Frost screamed through Caitlin and ice blasted Icicle across the room, the serum hit the floor. Caitlin's hair changed to a silvery-white color, her lips purpled, and her eyes bright white as she shifted to her roommate.
Icicle tried to get Killer Frost to join him, but she refused, stepping on the serum and destroying it. She blasted him again when he tried to hurt her family. Walking over to him, she covered her fist with ice before repeatedly punching Icicle in the face. Killer Frost stopped when Tom's brown eyes came through the bright white of Icicles.
"Caity... you found me."
"Dad?" There were no white eyes for a moment before Icicle pushed Tom back down. He blasted Caitlin across the room and flew away. Killer frost was back too, sending a ice shard through the machine in the center of the room. It instantly began to warm up, eventually Nora and Barry could get up and ran lightning through Cisco and Ralph. No one noticed how much Carry was shivering before the temperature was at least in the 200s.

8 272The Ingress Estate
Jonathon Eucole. Soldier. Scholar. Now an Initiate, the dedication without dedication, he finds himself both prisoner and master of an arcane edifice, the Ingress Estate, which can neither be escaped, nor controlled; only diverted, maintained, and pacified. This is a gothic fantasy story, set in a world in which gods and the afterlife are not only real and known, but were both established in living memory of some of the inhabitants after millennia of arcane warfare with the being who constructed the mundane reality the humans occupy. But this isn't the story of those who colonized the afterlife at the cost of their own humanity, but a somewhat more ordinary man, in somewhat extraordinary circumstances. This is also a LitRPG-lite, which means there's a system of sorts, fragments of which can be observed through Jonathon's eyes. Don't expect level-up screens, or statistics, or indeed numbers much at all, beyond those the inhabitants of the world itself apply to understanding their own reality. It pretty much doesn't matter to the story, I mention it so those who don't want to read LitRPG at all can successfully avoid it here. I don't have any particular plan here, just some ideas inherent in the genre. This is a character concept I toyed with some years ago; an old man, bright of mind but weighed down into apathy, both by his past and his responsibilities for a terrible estate that cannot be left without stewardship. Don't expect any kind of overarching plot or story, because that's really not what this is about. Also don't expect much dialogue. Or character development. Or much of anything, really, because I've planned nothing in the way of an actual book, here. Other relevant information, if you've read this far for some reason: The MC isn't super-powerful to begin with, and probably never will be. He's a veteran with some useful skills, and the insight on how to use them, so can deal with the world's ordinary threats reasonably well, but not too much beyond that. --- Currently on hiatus, as currently the story has a rather poor ratio of effort-to-personal-payoff. I may return to this once I have a clear idea of how to get the stories where I want them. I've started a more standard LitRPG using the same system. But if you like intelligence characters who cleverly min-max their classes, it probably isn't the story for you; it's the story of a rather ordinary guy who winds up in a very similar universe.
