As Ashok was talking to Dev, his friends barged into the library and Ashok was quite surprised on seeing them.
"What are you guys doing here?"
"We have come here to fulfill your wish. Dev, tell your Father to get ready. He would be riding a horse."
"Uncle, you can tell him this yourself. I am going somewhere."
Ashok shook his head and his friends made him wear a sherwani. Dev kissed his cheek and ran from there. As he was running out of his House, he saw his Mother in her bridal wear and her friends were taking her to the lawn which was decorated in a grand way. Ishwari saw him and stopped him.
"Dev, where are you going?"
"To get your daughter in law."
"But we are getting married today. Won't you be here?"
"You are getting married for the second time. Let me secure my first time."
Ishwari chuckled and Dev left on his bike.

Sonakshi stepped out of her flat as her Parents bid her bye. She pressed the button to call the lift and as the doors of the lift opened, she saw Dev and rolled her eyes. He immediately got out of the lift and looked at her bags.
"You are going somewhere?"
Sonakshi gave him a fake wide smile and turned around to descend down the stairs. Dev followed her and started apologizing.
"Sonakshi, listen to me."
"I don't want to listen to anything. You can go to hell."
"I will go there but atleast let me hold your suitcase. It looks very heavy."
"I'll manage. I don't need your help."
"But atleast listen to me baby."
"Don't call me baby."
"I won't but please let me hold your bag."

"I said that I don't need your help."
"But you live on the 8th floor. And now you won't take the lift because of your stubbornness."
"Bleach that lift."
"I am sorry na Sona."
"I don't need your sorry."
"Okay. But let me hold your bag. We are still on the 6th floor."
Sonakshi held the bag in her other hand and continued walking down.
"I am very sorry Sona. I know it is my mistake. I shouldn't have taken out all the frustration on you."
"Yet you did."
"I know. That's why I am apologizing."
"Not enough."
"I know. You know, I have been looking for flats so that we both can stay in Mumbai. I got a very nice 2BHK flat in Lokhandwala. It's a nice and cozy place."
Sonakshi stopped for a moment but then again continued walking. Dev frowned but then followed her again. They were now on the 2nd floor. Dev held her hand and the suitcase dropped from her hand, right on his foot. He shrieked in pain and Sonakshi tried to control her laughter. As he saw her controlling her laughter, he stopped struggling and rubbed the back of his neck awkwardly. He then held her hands and looked in her eyes.
"I know that I don't deserve your apology. But give me a chance, and this time, I promise that this will be my last chance."
Sonakshi looked at him, debating with herself whether she should give him a chance or not. She then shrugged her shoulders, indicating him to speak. Dev smiled and held his ears.
"I know that I have always been a jerk. But the thing is that after I resigned from my job and didn't get any assignments for photography, I was lost. I didn't even know what to do. On the other hand, I envied you because you got to do what you wanted to and you were even successful in it. And I honestly thought that once you get successful in your career, you won't need me anymore. I thought that you will forget me once you achieve your dreams. I don't even know why I was thinking like that. I know that you could never forget me. But I know that none of my words would do justice for what I have done. But now when I have realised, I don't want to let you go anywhere. Just give me a chance."

She looked at him and narrowed her eyes at him.
"Fine! But I'll do the interiors of the House."
Dev sighed in relief and nodded his head.
"Atleast take the bag. I have been carrying it for so long."
"I was telling you to give it to me since we were on the 8th floor."
"Then take it."
She handed the bag to him started walking down the stairs. Dev finally smiled and followed her.
***
Ishwari and Ashok were married again and as they stood up from the altar, Sonakshi and Dev reached there. They both grinned widely on seeing Sonakshi and she ran to hug them. They hugged her tightly and welcomed Dev for a family hug.
***
Sonakshi was on the stage, cracking some jokes. When she didn't hear any laughter from the audience, she looked at the only couple who was at the restaurant and were busy in talking to each other. She frowned at them and cracked another joke. On getting no response from them, Dev came forward and gave her a glass of water.
"You need to gargle."
Sonakshi whined and stepped down from the stage. As they walked to the exit of the restaurant, she started complaining to Dev.
"They weren't even listening to me. They were busy in talking to each other. Is it even fair Dev?"

Living as a Demon
Jonathan was living the life of a normal human male in modern-day society, until he was rudely awakened one night by a summoning circle that ripped him out of his reality and dumped him into a new world filled with magic, demons, and…mouthy young orphan girls?! Now Jonathan must navigate the trials of playing guardian to a preteen, learning to unlock his inner demon, and somehow managing to find a dang pair of pants! Welcome! I'm E.O. Tenkey; thank you for considering Living as a Demon, my third released work here on Royal Road (following Not a Manga and Mr. Familiar)! Let's set some expectations, shall we? • Not much hard profanity (chapter 1 is the exception!)• Human MC! Our protagonist is a bona fide homo sapiens. Which is not to say there won't be demons, demonic powers, and what-have-you, but this isn't some grimdark exploration of the life and times of a nihilistic, amoral killing machine.• Slice of life. My previous works always ended up there, so might as well get ahead of the curve!• Weekly updates, and a completed story: I will post a single chapter per week on Wednesdays until the story is complete (extra chapters are rare, but do happen).
