Manik set up the little 'star gazing' spot on his balcony just in time for the meteor shower. Sonakshi walked in as soon as he had finished perfecting the angle of the chairs for the nth time.
"Ready are we?" Sonakshi asked. "Yes yes absolutely! Moreover,it's not going to be overcast this time!" Manik replied. "Oh that's great! Now I'll know how apt your description was the other day!" Sonakshi winked. "You're speaking as if you remember every word I said" Manik pointed out sarcastically. "Well I'm sure I haven't forgotten your description of the meteorite shower, I may not remember it word to word, but I have a fair idea of what you said." Sonakshi answered.
"So you'll see how right I was, just in about two minutes. Come take your place." Manik replied.
Both of them took their places and sat comfortably on the reclining chairs as the patiently looked upwards.
Soon after, a bright stream of light seemed to appear from the centre of nowhere, followed by another, and another, eventually making it look like nature's beautiful firework!
Sonakshi looked up in awe, while Manik looked back and forth towards the sky and Sonakshi. The meteors originated from one point and radiantly went off in different directions.
After a few minutes of this eye feast, Sonakshi turned to Manik and said, "Your description was PERFECT,Manik! I can't even begin to describe how beautiful this was!"
Manik smiled and said, "I'm glad. Infact even happier I could enjoy this with you! This feels... awesome...seeing the thing I love with the person I love..."
Sonakshi took a while to process what she had just heard...Manik looked away awkwardly realising what he said.
"Manik...I... You...I love you too."

Manik looked towards her and said, "Ofcourse you do. Ofcourse you knew I did. Ofcourse. Love. That's what this is. That's what it has always been. It's what we have always felt for each other, what we never said, but lived every moment of it- of love. A feeling so strong that even so many years away couldn't stop it from growing.
I love you."
Saying so, he kissed Sonakshi on her forehead as she closed her eyes and cherished the moment. He then looked at her,and she said, "I love you too."
His gaze moved towards her lips, and soon after one their lips engaged in a soft , tender battle.
The feeling that had started growing under the same meteorite shower years ago,was finally expressed. Those the words were finally said. And right beneath the universe's beautiful creation, two people who were indeed worlds apart, merged to make an universe of their own!

So, after a long delay, A HAPPY ENDING THIS IS! :)
I can't and don't want to stretch their story more. It should end right where it started, beneath the sky with them lost in each other!
This by far is one of my best works and hence the awesome response from you guys!
Thank youuuu for being a part of ManAkshi's journey! 🤍✨
Hoped you lived it as much as I did!!
