《The Sharica Baby》Pain And More Pain

I couldn't believe he would do this to me at this stage. He would leave me strangled in the thin air, forgetting my feelings and my conditions. I thought I was living the life of my dreams until it came shattering down. I sat there, tears pricking my eyes, pale hands trembling with fear and sadness. I've been trying to block out the screams, but now it's impossible, the noise ripping my heart. At first it was the occasional wince of a groan, but then it got louder and move constant. My emotional pain slowly turning physical. I threw the phone away and slid down the wall standing right next to the stairs. My body rested itself on the stair while my prickling down. Just when the door bell buzzed thrice and Ifrah's voice crept into the house.
"Eri, Please open the door. Come on let's talk." She said banging her fists on the door gently. This is what I needed. I needed someone's company so badly and Ifrah was the only person I could rely on. Though she was Shaheer's sister, We went well with each other so well she was more like a soulmate to me than just a sister in-law. I tried standing up so that I could open the door for her. I grabbed the railing by the stairs, just when a shooting pain crawled down my spine and I let out a loud whimper. I could hear her walk away from the door and return after a few minutes. she opened the door with the keys that I think were the spare apartment keys that our apartment's security office has. She opened the door and rushed to me where I was bending over to the furnished top of the desk as I tried to reach the couch.

"Eri! Are you okay?" She jumped into action as she helped to walk to the couch and she gently propped me on the cozy seat. She tried rubbing her hands over my stomach thinking that might work but nothing seemed to ease the pains at the moment. She skipped her way to the kitchen to get me a glass of water. I leaned over my stomach trying to ease the pain with movements. I doubled over as a strong contraction hit me and Ifrah came running to with a glass of water.
"Here you go. Drink some water you might feel better." she helped me drink the water while she wiped the tears on my cheeks.
"Slow sips." she instructed when she saw me gulp down the water hastily. I expected this concern from someone else but he decided to cheat in the most crucial moment.
"Di, it hurts so much... I can't." I said in a croaked voice as the sniffles left my mouth. I was scared. The baby wasn't ready to come out yet. There are three weeks still left. The last thing I wanted was having the baby premature which do nothing but add on to the health risk of our child.
"Shhhh....don't cry. Lets go the hospital. You'll be fine." she said as she propped my arm over her shoulder. She gently led me to the door with small and gentle steps. The pain throbs in my guts, it's deep and warm, but not in a nice way. It feels like someone has their hand in there and are squeezing my organs first gently and then as hard as they can. When it wanes I can move, when it returns I can only hold still and breathe, breathe slow and deep until it has passed. There is no blood anywhere but my abdomen is purple and hard where it should be smooth. Every step feels like a nail bomb exploding in my innards.

She led me out of the lift once we reached the basement. We made our way to the car. She got into the driver's seat after letting me sit on the other seat. She pulled the car out of the parking and stopped after driving only a few yards.
"Oh no! I guess we forget the hospital bag at home. We should get it." she said alarmed.
"No don't worry. Shah had kept the hospital bag before hand. Just in case we didn't have time or in case of an emergency. The bag is in the dickey." I said and she immediately ignited the engine and drove away. And instinctively Shaheer's thoughts crept into my mind. I realised how much I needed him even after everything that has happened. He is the father of this child and he deserves to know everything about it.
"Di, can you please inform Shaheer as soon as possible.?Please." I asked her and she swayed her head to my side. Her expression said she clearly did not expect me to ask for that.
"Are you sure?" she asked. I nodded my head saying I was sure that I wanted Shaheer to be by my side at this moment. She continued, "Alright, I will tell him." and then focused on the road.
Once we reached the hospital, I was taken to the emergency room and was kept under observation. I was told that I was in actual labour and I was 3 cm dilated already. They said we're gonna wait till I am completely dilated. Since this was a premature labour, the doctors were in no rush to get the baby out. They wanted the baby to stay as long as it could. Ifrah was in the lobby while she informing the family members. She came into the room after a while.
"Eri, I informed all the family members. They wanted to come here right now but i suggested not to because I think there's still a lot of time before you start pushing." she said while she took a seat on the stool that was by the bed. "And I tried calling Shaheer but his phone was switched off. I wasn't able to contact him in any way." she said and disappointment spread over my face and my stomach dropped. He had one chance to redeem himself. One chance. Just then another contraction hit me. These pains were now so familiar that it did not hurt me anymore.
"Di, can you help me to walk around the room. I guess it could ease the pains." I asked and she immediately helped me with walking around. We were done with almost three round when I had a shooting pain in my abdomen and a thick liquid trickled down my legs. We both stole glances and then immediately panicked. She made me sit on the bed and instantly called for the nurse.
"Di, Please try contacting Shaheer again. I need him here." I pleaded and she immediately went out to contact him and I internally prayed for him to be here with me.

Of Men and Dragons, Book 1
Book 1 is now available on Kindle, or in paperback/hardcover! You can buy it here! Jack crash-landed on a planet where the natives are seven-foot-tall carnivorous cat-lizards currently somewhere between stone and bronze age. The good news is the natives think the ship that crashed into their mountain is a dragon and are steering clear of it. The bad news is they just left one of their own as a sacrifice to appease the beast. No matter what Jack and his AI co-pilot decide, his life just got a lot more complicated... ATTENTION: This is soft sci-fi rather than hard sci-fi, hence why I chose that tag. For those of you unfamiliar with the distinction, here's what Wikipedia had to say. 1. It explores the "soft" sciences, and especially the social sciences (for example, anthropology, sociology, or psychology), rather than engineering or the "hard" sciences (for example, physics, astronomy, or chemistry). 2. It is not scientifically accurate or plausible; the opposite of hard science fiction. Soft science fiction of either type is often more concerned with character and speculative societies, rather than speculative science or engineering. The term first appeared in the late 1970s and is attributed to Australian literary scholar Peter Nicholls.
