Meg - What is going on here ladies? I can hear the noise from several corridors away! Cartwright do you have an explanation for it?

Spider and Pixie start forming a conga around the room

Meg - What has got into you lot?

Judy - We are just happy that's all!

Meg grabs a cup of drink from Ronnie and sniffs it

Meg - NOW LOOK, HAVE YOU LOT BEEN AT THE BOOZE? I THINK THERE IS VODKA IN THIS!

Judy - So what if we have? We are happy about old Fergie!

Jim - I have come to hand in my notice. I won't be carrying on here as handyman

Bob looks surprised

Bob - Hand in your notice, what brought that on?

Jim - Kath and I are selling up and moving away, we are going to move near the coast. We've found a nice little cottage that we love and we bought it

Bob - Move? I had no idea you were planning to do that

Jim - Yes well we are just about sick of it where we are. Des Battersby and his new girlfriend are being a pain now. Plus we have too many bad memories here. It's time for a fresh start somewhere new. We managed to get a quick sale and will move tomorrow

Bob - All seems very quick

Jim - Little point waiting around. We wanted it so we went for it

Bob - Well I will miss you both

Jim - We'll miss you too, but you are welcome to visit anytime

Bob - And I will

Jim - I'm hoping to get into a new career, being a handyman hardly excites me

Bob - Well I wish you and Kath the best

Bob holds out a hand to shake and they shake

Vera and Cassie are standing in an empty flat, looking around

Vera - Well, what do you think?

Cassie - I like it mum yes

Vera - Good, I thought you would. I like it too. I think it will do nicely for us

Cassie - Can we afford the rent?

Vera - Yes, it's fairly cheap. But of course, the sooner you can find a job the better, then you can help with the rent

Cassie - Yes, I'm trying hard mum, I went for a few jobs today but it is hard when you have a record

Vera - I know and there is no rush just yet. I can manage the rent on my own for a little while. Just keep trying and eventually, something will come up

Cassie - I will mum

Vera - So, shall we take it then?

Vera and Meg look surprised

Meg - I'm not surprised they decided to move. I think I would too if I were them, they never really had a happy time in that house and who wouldn't like a nice cottage near the coast. It will be lovely for them and the twins

Vera- Yes and let's face it, poor Jim never liked being a handyman did he

Meg - I can't blame him for that either, he was a governor once. To go from governor to handyman is a comedown few men would like

Pixie is there with chef

Pixie - Did I ever say how marvellous it is to be working here in the kitchen with you chef?

Chef - Thank you Pixie, I am delighted too

Pixie - I love cooking, I hope to prepare many delicious dishes here

Ronnie is there sneering

Ronnie - Like you can cook Mason! You can't do anything well, you are hopeless

Pixie - Oh don't be so dreadfully rude and mean Ronnie!

Chef - Yes, pack it in at once Corbett!

The women are at work as Meg arrives in the room

Meg - Battersby, come with me, the governor wants to see you

Shanice - Barnhurst. why?

Bob - It's low security and you are classified as a low risk, petty offender. It was decided that you would fit in better at Barnhurst for the rest of your sentence

Shanice - Yeah, well I can't pretend I will miss this place because I won't

Bob - To be perfectly blunt, I doubt whether anyone here will miss you much either. Now Mrs Morris will take you to your cell to pack your things, try and be quick because the van is waiting outside and they don't want to wait all-day

Meg - Come on Battersby

Shanice - Well see ya eh Moran! One day I will be back

Bob - Will you?

The prisoner Anderton stands with a harsh expression on her face

Bob - You're lucky you didn't end up at Blackmoor, your behaviour at Barnhurst was a disgrace from what I heard

Bob - as it happens your transfer here allowed me to do a swap and get rid of a woman who I am glad to see the back of

Anderton smiles sarcastically

Bob - Yes well just let me warn you, don't think about causing as much trouble here as you did at Barnhurst. The next stop after Wentworth is Blackmoor and I don't think you will like it there believe me

Pixie and Ronnie are there alone

Pixie is making food as Ronnie pours a lot of salt over it

Ronnie - Look what you did you clumsy cow! Too much salt on that food, it is now not edible!

Ronnie laughs

Ronnie - But only the two of us saw, I will deny it and say it was you. Chef will be so mad at you

Pixie - Oh you awful rotten cow!

Ronnie laughs and laughs

Pixie - Stop laughing will you!

Ronnie - No I won't, I happen to find it funny

Meg arrives at the laundry with Anderton

Meg - Ladies this is Katie Anderton, a transfer from Barnhurst

Judy - Welcome love

Katie Yeah thanks, thrilled to be here!

Sasha - Hey Mrs M, whatever happened to Shanice?

Meg - Oh yes I was about to tell you about that. Shanice is on her way to Barnhurst now, in the van that brought Anderton here

An attractive looking, very young male officer is in the office with Bob, Sue and Vera

Bob - Vera, this is Lee, a new officer here. He finished his training only a week ago

Vera - Great! I'm sorry to seem mean but new officers fresh from training cause us extra work

Vera sighs

Vera looks stunned

Vera, Sue and Bob all look around at each other in shock.

Bob gets out of his seat and runs out of the room, quickly followed by Vera

Lee - A murder on my first day mum?

In the kitchen, Ronnie is dead on the floor, there is blood everywhere

Pixie sits beside her like butter wouldn't melt

Chef, Bob and Vera are there looking horrified

Pixie - Well what happened here then?

Vera - You know damn well what happened, you killed Corbett!

Pixie - Oh I never did anything of the sort! I couldn't hurt a fly!

Vera- You did, chef saw you

Pixie shakes her head

Pixie - He is lying!

Pixie - There is some sort of mistake, please stop being so mean to me

Bob - She is clearly disturbed and needs to go back to Ingleside

Vera - In my view she never should have been released from there in the first place

Bob - let's just get her out of here Miss Bennett shall we

Vera - Yes, come on Mason time to go

Pixie - Where is Judy, I want to see her? I need her help, she will help me, she knows this is a frightful mistake and that I could never do a thing like this!

Sue and Lee are in the Laundry with the women

Sue - So Lee is new here ladies, try and go easy on him

Katie - Yeah, looks like I arrived just at the right time eh! maybe you'd like to come to my cell after lights out!

Sue - You'll get used to the women's banter after a while

Bob and Vera peer through the hatch

Bob - I will get in touch with Ingleside at once

Sue and Lee are now in the staff room with Meg

Lee - So those smart women didn't take very long to work out that we are mother and son

Sue - Yes, it took them all of two minutes

Meg sighs

Meg - I do wish the department would stop doing silly things like this, putting a mother and son together is just asking for trouble

Sue - You sound like Vera

Meg - Well for once I agree with Vera, Sue

Vera is walking up a corridor with Judy

Judy - Are you going to tell me what this is about or not? I can tell something is wrong

Vera - She is being transferred back to Ingleside and asked to see you before she goes

Judy looks deeply upset

Bob - This will have to be quick Bryant, the van is here now to take her away

Judy nods her head and fights back tears as she walks in to talk to Pixie

Pixie - Oh I never did anything, honestly I didn't. This is all some kind of hideous mistake

Pixie is distressed

Vern is in the office with Marina

Marina - I wasn't sure if you'd be in today or not, the mood you were in yesterday

Vern - Well I am governor and someone has to run this place

Marina - Have you decided what you want to do about Lucy?

Vern - It's like you said isn't it, in order to save our own necks we have to let her go down for it

Marina And what about your conscience?

Vern - I can live with it, I just had a bad moment yesterday, a weak moment. Today I've seen sense. We let Lucy go down for it and get on with our lives

Marina - Well I'm relieved to hear you talking sense again. Yesterday I was worried you'd blow it for us both

Marina - I hope not. Like I told you, there is no way I plan to go down for this

Vern - Yes, I received a phone call. Lucy is on her way here on remand, we can expect her anytime today. It was felt that here was the best option rather than Wentworth
