Sue Bailey bravely steps forward to talk to Sandra

Sue - What's all this then Sandra eh?

Sandra - I'm here to kill some of you, what does it look like?

Sue - Don't be silly, I am sure you don't want to do that. How about you put the gun down and we talk calmly instead?

Sandra - How about you shut up and get out of my face before I shut you up permanently Bailey! I am still deciding whether or not to put a bullet in you for going to the police with Raymond and Bennett, so I really would not do anything to aggravate me if I were you, Bailey!

Sue goes quiet, scared

Sandra wonders around the room

Sandra - Such a shame Bennett and Raymond aren't here right now

Sandra stops beside Richard

Sandra - But at least my good old husband is here, good old dependable Richard!

Richard - You've really lost it this time

Sandra ignores him and continues to wander the room. She scans the room and lays her eyes on Kath

Sandra - A good turnout for your party, whats the occasion anyway?

Sandra - Is it?...well I would say many happy returns, but...

She wonders over to Chloe

Sandra - This is Chloe isn't it?

Bea, Thelma, and Donald look anxious, Chloe seems calm

Chloe - Yes I am Chloe

Sandra- How good to meet you dear! I've often wanted to meet you, Chloe!...

Bea (fretful) - Look Clements if you want to kill me get on with it, no need to drag this out or involve anyone else

Sandra - Oh i am not going to be too hasty here Smith!

Janice and Toni find Shanice in the corridor

Toni - Oh god...

Janice kneels to examine her

Toni - Is she dead?

Janice - No, she is still alive but she needs help fast

Back in the Recroom

Sandra - Cummings, Coulson, and Simpson, you are all excused. No need for any of you to stay, you are not on my list!

Ros, Spider, and Madge rush out quickly

Sandra - They were lucky and wise, none of them gave me a reason to hate them

Bea - You should let the others go too, none of them gave you a reason to hate them either

Sandra - That is hardly true of Richard, Maxwell or Bailey now is it!

Richard - Well at least let everyone else go, even if Bea, Sue, Kath and I have to stay

Sandra walks around and stops by Chef and Pixie, who both seem tearful

Sandra - Pair of cry babies!

Chef - Can you blame me? This situation is diabolical!

Sandra - I should kill you right now for inflicting such atrocious food on us all!

Chef is terrified

Sandra looks at him with disdain

Sandra - But you're not worth wasting a bullet on you pathetic creature....and nor are you, Mason. So you can both get out!

Chef and Pixie run out

Sandra - Now the cry babies are gone!

She continues to walk around the room and stops by Doreen and Monnie

Sandra - Guests! Party guests...why do people attend a birthday party?

She walks over to where Marilyn is standing beside Bea

Sandra - They attend when they are friends or family of the recipient right?

She wonders over to Helen

Sandra - And we all know you're a friend of Smith's don't we Smart...that makes you and the rest of these guests very useful to me!

At this point, Helen, Doreen, Monnie, and Marilyn all look very concerned, as do Wally and Lori

Sandra looks around at them all and giggles

Sandra - Don't worry about it too much girls!

She wonders over to Chloe

Sandra - This girl here is of prime interest to me! I might just decide she'll do and I'll let the rest of you go! I haven't really decided which course of action to take yet!

Bea - just let them all go, Clements, I mean it! Let Chloe and everyone else here go

Sandra - You never could understand when you're not in charge of a situation could you Smith!

Janice and Toni rush along a corridor

Janice - I'll get an ambulance for Battersby, you'd better go and tell Mr Moran what's happening

They reach a crossroads and head off in different directions

Sandra puts the gun to Chloe's head

Bea, Thelma, and Donald look terrified

Bea - Let her go, I mean it!

Sandra - She is your granddaughter, I can't think of a better way to get you back for killing my Jacqueline than this. This is perfect

Donald suddenly takes Sandra by surprise by going for the gun. They struggle for it

Sandra shoots Donald in the chest. Thelma and Chloe scream as Donald drops to the floor

Toni is rushing along a corridor and hears the gunshot

At the same time Ros, Spider, and Madge appear along the corridor

Toni - What are you three doing? Do any of you know where that gunshot came from?

Ros - Sure we do, Clements is in the Recroom with a gun, she let us three go but she still has the others

Toni looks horrified

Toni - Ok you three, get out of the building, get into the grounds, and stay there

Madge - You don't need to ask me that twice, I'm outta here!

Spider - Yeah, me too

The three of them race past

Madge - This reminds me of the Siege in '85 when those terrorists came here to break out that crazy Ballinger bitch

Spider - Gee yeah, we were the lucky bitches who weren't on H Block

Madge - We were still trapped in our cells for several days, no one was able to get in to rescue us. It was still terrifying!

Ros - Yeah, I can remember all the yelling and crying you did Madge, you behaved like a real baby!

Toni runs into Chef and Pixie

Chef - THAT CRAZY MADDWOMAN HAS A GUN!

They carry on past and Chef takes a handkerchief out of his pocket

Chef - Oh I can't believe the ghastly things she said to me! She insulted my cooking the witch!

Pixie - Well she's not very nice is she! Don't worry Chef, next time I see her I'll give her a piece of my mind for upsetting you like this!

Chef - Thank you Pixie, what a nice girl you are. I will ask Moran if you can come and work with me in the kitchen if you like?

They continue along the corridor

Janice is in reception as an ambulance crew arrive

Paramedic - We were informed that we have a victim of a gunshot wound?

Janice - Yes correct. She is losing a lot of blood, I tried my best to halt the blood flow but she needs attention fast

They rush off into the prison

The governor's office

Vera stands looking troubled

Eileen - I will have to place you on probation for a period of time Mr Moran, we will see how you get on. I really don't want to lose you as governor but anymore slip us like this and you will be out

Vera - You know I could swear I heard another sound just now

Eileen -Well I didn't hear a thing Miss Bennett...did you hear anything Mr Moran?

Bob - Yes I think I did hear something actually, but it was very faint

Eileen - I do hope it's not trouble at that wretched party, I really do!

Suddenly a white-faced Toni bursts into the room

Eileen - OH REALLY! IS THIS COMMON HERE, OFFICERS BURSTING IN LIKE THIS!

Toni - Mr Moran, thank god you're in here. We have a very serious situation!

Eileen - It's that party, isn't it! Oh, I knew it...I knew it would be a recipe for a disaster! Well, what have they done then? Let's hear all about it!.....

Thelma and Chloe are kneeling beside Donald, both wailing hysterically

Chloe screams

Sandra laughs

Chloe - DON'T KILL MY MUM PLEASE! ...please I couldn't bear to lose her as well as my father!

Sandra - Beg some more!

The office

Bob, Vera, and Eileen look horrified

Bob - My god....so she shot Webster and Battersby?

Toni - Yes, Webster is dead but Battersby isn't yet, Jan went to get help for her...I heard the third gunshot, I guess it came from the party

Eileen - What are we going to do Mr Moran? You tell me

Bob - The first thing we will do is call the police immediately

Bob picks up his phone

Eileen shakes her head in dismay

Eileen - Dwyer always said that Wentworth was the craziest out of all the prisons in the state, I can see what he meant now!

Shanice is being loaded into the back of an ambulance as Janice stands with the crew

Janice - Do you think she will survive?

Paramedic - Yes I think so, the bullet didn't hit any main organs. She lost a fair bit of blood but i think we got to her in time, we'll know more once we get her to the hospital

Chef, Pixie, Ros, Spider, and Madge have gathered around

Spider- Gee what happened to her Miss?

Janice - She has been shot

Spider - Hell...Clements really has lost it eh!

Janice -Why are you lot out here anyway?

Madge - Officer Williams sent us out here for our own safety...Clements is in the Recroom with a gun

Chef - She's a mad cow!

Janice - Richard, was he there too?

Janice runs back into the building in a panic

Bob puts his phone down

Bob - The police are on their way, I suggest we go to reception to wait for them

They all leave the office

Janice runs along the corridor as another gunshot is heard

Janice stops for a second

Janice (to herself) - Oh god, please don't let it be Richard!

Janice continues to run

Bob, Toni, Eileen, and Vera are in a corridor and have also heard the gunshot

Vera - She's just shot someone else by the sounds of it

Eileen - God, this is going to be an absolute bloodbath isn't it

Vera - I always knew that woman was round the twist, no one would listen to me until it was too late!

Bob is angry

Bob - Yes well I hardly think now is the time for this Miss Bennett, we need to focus on bringing this to an end and preventing any more deaths!

Vera - Well with a bit of luck maybe what we heard just now was Clements turning the gun on herself!

Toni looks disgusted

Toni - Oh Vera really that is beyond the pale!

Eileen - No, I agree with Miss Bennett. Clements would indeed do us all a favour if she did turn the gun on herself!

Chloe is screaming

Thelma is laying on the ground with a gunshot wound from the head

Bea runs to comfort Chloe

Bea - Are you happy now Clements, you wicked bitch?

Sandra - Yeah!..little orphan Chloe, how tragic!

Bea - I'm going to kill you for this

Sandra - What an ironic thing to say, Smith! You're not the one with the gun, I am!

She looks around the room

She walks over to Richard

Sandra - Could it be my dearest husband?

She walks over to Kath

Sandra - Or perhaps it will be Maxwell?

She walks over to Helen

Janice runs into the room, out of breath

Janice - Oh Richard, thank god you're ok!

Sandra - Raymond! Nice of you to join us, the party wasn't complete without you

One of the officers was the officer who spoke to Sandra at Luna Park on the night of Leanne's death

The officer - We are here as first responders, Inspector Grace is on his way. While we wait why don't you fill us in quickly on what's occurring here?

Bob - So that's it. We have two known casualties, one of which was fatal, and the other we are yet to know if she will survive or not. There have since been at least two further gunshots

Officer - I see...and the perpetrator is holding people hostage at a party in the Recroom?

Toni - Yes, so we are told. It is unknown exactly how many people she has there

Officer - This is an extremely serious situation, I do hope Inspector Grace will arrive soon

Officer 2 - While we wait, does anyone have a photo of Mrs Clements? It would be helpful to see who we are dealing with

Bob - Yes, well there should be a photo in her file, I am happy to show it to you

Bob goes over to the filing cabinet

Donald and Thelma have been covered over as Chloe remains hysterical

Sandra appears to be thinking it over

The officer who spoke to her looks stunned

Officer - At Luna Park, the night that girl fell from the log flume. She was the one in the log flume with the girl at the time of her death. She told me her name was Coral something...Coral Drouyn i think it was

Bob - How extraordinary, are you sure it was her?

Officer - Oh yes, it was her alright

Toni opens her mouth to respond as Inspector Grace walks in

Lori and Wally rush to leave but Judy seems reluctant

They rush along the corridor
