Sandra is sitting in Mrs Fowlers lounge

Sandra - I was hoping to speak to both you and your husband

Mrs Fowler - My husband is at work I'm afraid...now what is it you want?

Sandra - I want to ask you to come and visit Leanne

Mrs Fowler - No way, you can forget that

Sandra - She needs your support Mrs Fowler...

Mrs Fowler -Look do you know what she did?

Sandra - Of course, I know what she did and I know the circumstances around it at the time. Abusive husband...

Mrs Fowler - So she says yes...

Sandra - Abandoned by her parents when she needed them the most...

Mrs Fowler looks angry

Mrs Fowler - How dare you to sit there and judge my husband and me...

Sandra - I'm sorry but I only say it how I see it

Mrs Fowler - You say it the way Leanne has told it to you, but there are two sides to everything. The fact is that girl was a difficult child. My husband and I tried our best for her but she would never listen, always knew best. She got in with a bad crowd, dropped out of school early, got into drugs. We tried our best to put a stop to it but Leanne always knew best

Sandra - And when she got married and had a baby your solution was to disown her completely?

Mrs Fowler - We'd had enough by then. It wasn't what we wanted for her, she was too young.. but she went ahead anyway, didn't care how we felt. She let us down

Sandra - No you let her down, when she needed you the most too

Mrs Fowler looks angry

Mrs Fowler - I don't have to listen to this, you have no right to sit there and say this to me. I would like you to leave now

Sandra - I'll go, but before I do I will ask you please to consider coming to see Leanne, she is still your daughter and she needs your support

Mrs Fowler - She doesn't deserve any support after what she did to that poor baby

Sandra - She is punishing herself more than anyone else could for that....even though it clearly isn't entirely her own fault. She was badly let down, a young inexperienced mother with an abusive husband, no support from her parents, and just expected to cope with a young baby on her own and with no help. To my mind, that was a tragedy waiting to happen from the start

Mrs Fowler - Please leave!

Sandra stands up

Sandra - If I were you I'd have a very big think about this. She is still your daughter and she needs your support, are you really going to let her down again?

Sandra leaves

Bea is with Colleen in her office

Bea - I want to see Ellen Mrs Powell

Colleen - Why Smith? I know the way you feel about her. If it's to cause trouble for her then I must remind you that the woman is dying...

Bea - I know and it's not to cause trouble. I'm worried about her and I want to make sure she is being looked after well

Colleen looks at Bea dubiously

Colleen - I can let you see her Smith but I'll warn you if you abuse this privilege in any way it will be the very last time you see her and you will go to solitary for it

Peta is standing in front of Sandra. Meg is present

Sandra - Your transfer to Barnehurst has been approved, you will leave today

Peta looks surprised

Peta - I never thought the department would go for it after my previous bad behaviour

Sandra - Nor did I really. But Ms Hollands did make a report that stated you had seen the error of your ways and she no longer felt that you would cause trouble. Mrs Morris and I had to admit you have settled down a lot lately too

Peta - Can I see Ms Hollands to thank her before I go, please?

Sandra - I'm afraid not Middleton, she isn't in today

Peta - Oh that's a shame, I would have liked to thank her

Sandra - I'll pass a message on to her for you

Peta - Thanks Miss

Sandra - Miss Bennett will take you to pack now...good luck Middleton. I hope you can keep up the good behaviour and get your parole soon

Peta nods her head

Peta- I will miss and thanks

Peta leaves the office with Vera

They walk up the corridor

Peta - Thanks for putting in a good report for me Mrs Morris

Meg - We're not monsters here Middleton, some of us would like to see you get out of here and return to uni and make something of yourself. You don't belong here

Peta - Yes I realize that now, just a shame I had to get myself a criminal record

Meg - It doesn't have to affect your future too much. Just keep out of trouble from now on and people will give you a second chance I promise you

Peta - I hope so

Josie is with Ellen

Ellen - It's nice to see you love

Josie hugs her

Josie - Are they looking after you mum?

Ellen nods her head

Ellen - Yes love, don't worry

Josie - I can't help it, I do worry for you

Ellen - I worry for you too love....you know what about

Josie - I told you, mum, that's all behind me now

Ellen - I hope so

Josie - It is I swear it

Ellen - You're too young to go down that path. I know I haven't been a good influence on you, it's my own fault you got into it. But you must promise me you'll stop now

They both laugh

Peta - I'll miss you, you've been a good mate. No wonder Reet held you in such high regard

Bea is with Ellen

Ellen - This is a nice surprise, I wasn't expecting you

Bea looks at her with shock and disgust

Peta is in the reception with Meg and Vera

Vera puts the phone down

Vera - The cars here

They lead Peta outside

Meg - Well good luck Middleton

Meg - Keep your nose clean and you could be out within a matter of months

Peta - I know and I will

Peta gets in the car

Vera and Meg watch as it pulls away

Vera - She won't be back!

Meg looks at Vera with surprise

Meg - Usually you say that they will be back

Vera - I know, but I can tell Middleton wants to get out of the prison system and get back to uni. She never really fitted in here and as for trying to be like her sister, a bad move and at all times very unconvincing

They make their way back into the prison

Back with Bea and Ellen

Bea - You got her into drugs? What kind of lousy excuse for a mother does that?

Ellen - You don't understand...

Bea - No too right I don't! To think I came to see you because I was concerned about you, I wish I hadn't bothered now

Bea turns to leave

Ellen - I didn't mean to get her into drugs, you have to believe me, I can explain

Bea laughs bitterly

Bea - Oh this gets better and better...

Ellen - I was only using a bit of cannabis, to help with pain relief. I swear that was all. But Josie got curious and tried some too. I told her not to but she wouldn't listen. Then she moved on to harder stuff. I tried to stop her but what could I do? I was too ill to do much...look I know what you're thinking Bea but if I could have prevented this I would have I swear...I know what you must think of me, a lousy mother. Well it's true

Bea softens a bit

Bea - I believe you when you say you didn't want her to get into drugs

Ellen - Now I need to ask you a favour and I know I don't deserve any favours but this is more for Josie than myself

Bea - Go on?

Ellen - I need you to keep an eye on her, look after her for me, keep her away from drugs

Bea - She isn't on my block

Ellen - I know, but can't you speak to the governor about that?

Bea - Maybe....but I dunno if I want to play nursemaid to silly little kids anymore

Ellen -Do it for Lizzie, she'd want Josie to be looked after and kept away from drugs don't you agree? She really loved that kid

Bea bows her head

Bea - Yeah, she would too. You're right about that....ok I'll see what I can do

Ellen smiles with relief

Ailsa is alone in her cell as Cheryl arrive in the room

Cheryl - We need to talk Ailsa. I've been laid off because of your loss. But now we need to talk

Ailsa - Yeah, it's true. He is a bully. He and that Mr Brewer together, they are a terrifying duo. Kel and I were so scared of them both...and we both feel that they were Connie's real killers and they framed Miss Raymond as well

Cheryl looks concerned

Bea - Maybe I have realized now that Lizzie would be pretty angry with me if I held on to a grudge against them. She did really love them both, she'd want me to look out for Josie. Anyway, she's just a kid isn't she? I was too harsh on her at the funeral, too harsh on both of them

Colleen - It just so happens that my officers have been informing me that they are very concerned about Josie. So maybe moving her to your wing would be for the best

Bea looks happy

Bea - Thanks Mrs Powell

Colleen nods her head

Colleen - I will be asking my officers to keep an eye on her on your wing to Smith....they will report to me any problems there

The dining room

Cheryl, Jessie, Kath, and Leanne are sitting together

Cheryl - I'm gonna miss Peta

Jessie - I couldn't believe it when I first saw her, it was so spooky. Just like seeing Rita again

Cheryl - It was weird for Kath and me too

They arrive at a cell

Bea is sitting on the bed filing her nails

Bea - Hello love, why don't you put your box down and I'll make us both a cuppa

Josie turns to Geoff

Josie - I have to share with her?

Geoff - Yes, is there a problem with that?

Josie - Yeah, she hates me for a start

Bea gets up and puts an arm around Josie's shoulder

Bea - Don't be silly love, I don't hate you. I promised your mum I would look after you

Bea - She seems to think you do and after what she told me I'm inclined to agree with her. A young girl like you getting involved with drugs is never something that I can feel happy about

Bea is in the rec room as Joan approaches

Joan - I want a word about Peterson

Bea - I'm listening

Joan - When are we going to fix her?

Bea - I told you we will do it in good time, Joan, why can't you be patient?

Joan turns to go as Bea grabs her arm

Footy- What I mean is Smith plans to babysit the young kid who has just been moved to her cell, keep her out of trouble. I overheard them talking and then Smith gave me a warning not to supply the kid with any drugs

Joan - See ladies? Smith has other things on her mind. You want a top dog who will deal with Peterson and not just talk about it, then that's me, ladies. Let's see a show of hands, who wants me as top dog?

A sea of hands shoot up immediately, Roo and Margo hold off a second but Roo eventually puts her hand up. A moment later so does the reluctant looking Margo

Joan smirks with delight

Joan - Wise choice ladies!

At Wentworth, the women are in the rec room

Cheryl - With Kel no longer around we need to address the issue of top dog

Jessie - I heard you were top dog before love, I reckon you should do it again

Leanne - Yeah I think so too

Cheryl - Thanks ladies, but I'm not sure I really want the job again

Leanne - Then who else could do it?

Cheryl turns to Kath

Cheryl - I thought maybe you would be interested in taking the job on again Kath? You were a pretty damn good top dog until you got pregnant and had to step down

Kath smiles and looks touched

Kath - Thanks Cheryl but I don't think I'm up for it right now. I need to concentrate on trying to get out of here and get Scott back. I need to try and keep away from trouble too

Cheryl - Yeah fair enough

Kath - I agree with Jessie and Leanne, you should be top dog again

Cheryl addresses the entire room

Cheryl - Any objections to me being top dog again?

Everyone shakes their heads

Lorna -We'll be happy to have ya again Cheryl!

Cheryl - Looks like I'm in again then........

......A moment later Cheryl is in her cell with Leanne and Jessie

Cheryl - I really didn't want the job again you know

Jessie - Better you have it than Maxwell!

Cheryl looks annoyed

Cheryl - Look Jessie, I've told you Kath is alright so enough with the digs ok?

Jessie shrugs

Jessie - Sure love, if you say so

Leanne - Now you're top dog again you can figure out the best way to deal with Cunningham

Cheryl cheers up a bit

Cheryl - Yes there is that, I didn't think of that

Bea arrives in the courtyard to find Joan and a gang huddled together in a corner, She approaches

Bea - What are you lot up to?

Joan - Just discussing how to deal with Peterson, Smith

Bea - I told you, any plans for her go through me first I'm the top dog

Margo - Not anymore kiddo

Bea looks angry

Bea - What do you mean not anymore?

Roo - You've been voted out love

Bea looks angrier still

Bea - Voted out? By who?

Joan smirks

Joan - By me Smith...I'm now the top dog!
