Kate- Well what do you want to talk about then? Make it quick will you, I have patients to see

Bea - Cut the crap doc!

Marie - Yeah just answer our questions like a good little girl and we won't have to bash ya will we

Kate - Well what are the questions? I really do wish you'd hurry up, you're making me most annoyed!

Marie lets out one of her chuckles

Marie - Get that eh Bea? We're making queen Kate most annoyed

Kate tries to leave and Bea and Marie block her path

Kate laughs her head off

Bea and Marie look at each other in shock

Kath is still with Denise

Denise - So you find being around your daughter too hard because of the daughter you lost?

Kath - That's right, it reminds me of Linda, and its too painful

Denise - It's understandable you would feel that way at first

Kath - It won't change, I know it won't, it's best for her if she's with a mother who can give her the love she deserves. I want the best for her. It hurts that I feel this way and I wish I didn't but I do

Denise - I see...well I'm afraid there will be some forms you'll need to fill in Mrs Maxwell

Kath - Yes no problem...can I leave her here today?

Denise - Yes, if we can find a foster care placement for her today which we should do without too many problems

Kath - And then that's it? She'll be adopted out?

Denise - I'm afraid it's not quite that simple Mrs Maxwell. It can take months sometimes to place a child with an adoptive family

Kath - Just so long as I know her foster family are taking good care of her in the meantime I'll be happy

Denise - In any case, I won't be recommending an adoption takes place right away, I want to wait a few months

Kath - Why?

Denise - I wish for you to have weekly contact with the child for a while, I feel you need to give yourself time to bond with this child and be totally sure you are doing the right thing

Kath looks annoyed

Kath - Look I told you...

Denise cuts her off

Denise - Yes Mrs Maxwell, I know what you told me but I'm afraid I'm not prepared to rush anything here....have you ever considered what the father wants?

Kath - The father is dead...

Denise - Oh I see...

Kath - Yes so you see he is not important now

Denise - And what about your son? Do you not feel he has a right to grow up with his twin sister?

Denise sighs

Denise - Well look I'm prepared to place your daughter with foster parents, for the time being, starting immediately, but I strongly advise that you take up the opportunity to have visits with her during the next few months. Ask yourself this, can it really hurt? Is it really going to take up too much of your time or cause you any difficulties just to see her for a few hours a week just to give yourself some time to see if you change the way you feel?..you owe it to her, you owe it to yourself and you owe it to your son to at least try

Kath sighs and nods her head

Kath - Ok I'll try, but I can't promise anything

Denise smiles kindly

Denise - I wouldn't expect you to, lets just give it a go. Take it step by step and see how it goes eh. You might be surprised by the results

Kath and Jim's home is completely trashed, including the tv screen smashed, as Kyle and Shanice stand looking at their handy work

Marie - You're lying surely? Sandy escaped and you covered for her?

Bea -Why did you kill her?

Kate suddenly grabs Marie and punches her in the stomach, doubling her over in pain

Kate calmly strolls off

Kath is in a baby shop with the double pram and only one baby in it. The shop assistant approaches her

Kath - Yes I need a single pram if you have one?

Vicki is alone at Meg's as the phone rings. she answers

Vicki - Hello is anyone there?

Vicki hangs up with a shrug

Kath is in Wentworth's reception where Vera is behind the desk, Baby Scott is in a single pram

Vera is shocked to see her

Vera - Kath? What are you doing here?

Kath - I've come to see Jim

Vera - Look I'm not sure that is such a good idea. You need to be more discreet about your relationship

They walk out the exit and emerge into the grounds

Peta manages to slash Roo across the face

Peta lets Roo go and hides her knife in her pocket

Meg is there with Vera

Meg - McPherson was laying out on the sofa making herself right at home when I left this morning

Vera chuckles

Vera - Yes she's a lazy little madam isn't she! Of course, I keep encouraging her to look for some work but she doesn't seem keen

Jim - I would have tried to talk some sense into you of course...I would have tried to make you realize this is a mistake and change your mind

Kath - That's why I didn't tell you, I knew you'd try and talk me out of it. Bob already tried that

Kath - She will go into foster care for a while and I'm being encouraged to have visits with her to see if I change my mind before anything final is done

Jim looks relieved

Peta is angry

Sally is alone in her cell as Roo runs in

Kath is leaving Wentworth as Vera runs out after her
