Inside Bea is stood in front of Janice in the governor's office

Janice - How was your night in solitary? Did you have time to reflect on your behaviour yesterday?

Bea shrugs

Bea - I suppose so

Janice - Being allowed to attend the funeral was not a right Smith, it was a privilege and it was granted under the understanding that you would not abuse the privilege! It seems Mr. Charlton does not wish to press charges but that does not change the fact that you abused the trust that was shown to you

Bea - I am very sorry Miss Raymond but Mr Charlton asked for it, he deserved it! If he hadn't thrown Lizzie out of his home maybe she wouldn't have ended up back here and she wouldn't be dead now

Janice - I realize you're mourning the loss of your friend but I will not tolerate the type of behaviour and abuse of trust you displayed yesterday...do you understand me?

Bea shrugs

Janice sweeps some of her paperwork off the desk in a fit of temper

Janice - I WILL NOT TOLERATE IT, SMITH!....

Janice sits back and takes a deep breath

Janice - Look what you made me do Smith! Get on your knees and clear it up

Bea looks at her with a deviant expression

Janice - Do it now unless you would like to spend a month in solitary

A sneering Bea does as she is told

Janice - You have lost Visiting, phonecall and buy up rights for a month Smith

Bea looks worried by that but says nothing

Reb and Joan are sat together in the dining room as Ruth approaches

Ruth - I didn't know you two were such good friends?

Joan - We put our differences to rest, we decided it's time for a fresh start, isn't that right Reb?

Reb - Yeah that's right

Ruth - How very lovely, far be it for me to interfere a moment longer, enjoy your breakfast ladies

Ruth strolls off

Reb - Do you think she bought that?

Joan - I doubt it. I reckon she suspects we've teamed up to get her

....Bea arrives in the room and gets some food

Ruth - Smith, just the lady I wanted to see, come here

Bea sits with Ruth

Ruth - My man has located your granddaughter, he can bring her in to see you anytime. It's entirely up to you now as to when you would like to see her

Bea - yeah well that bitch Raymond has stopped all my visiting privileges for a month hasn't she

Ruth - Has she?...well leave that to me, I'll fix that

Bea - How?

Ruth - I just will and that's all you need to know...so are you happy to see her anytime that I can arrange?

Bea shrugs

Bea - Yeah, anytime, I don't care

Janice is in her office with Meg

Meg - Miss Raymond, Webster is back, she was brought in just now now

Janice - Where is she?

Meg - We put her in solitary, it's standard for returning escapees to have a period in solitary upon return. I'm sorry, did you wish to see her first?

Janice - No Mrs Morris, you did right to put her there, I don't have anything to say to her that can't wait until she comes out...you may go now

Meg nods her head and leaves

Janice sits back in her seat with an evil expression on her face

Ruth is with Ian in her cell

Ruth - Thanks for coming so promptly Mr. Henderson

Ian - You said it was urgent Mrs Ballinger?

Ruth - Indeed it is

Ruth hands over a box with some devices in

Ruth - These are bugging devices, I want you to set them up in 6 places. Ferguson's cell, Kean's cell, the shower block, the laundry, the rec room, and the dining room

Ian - But why?

Ruth - So i can listen in to the women's conversations, find out everything they say and do, anything they plot about me when I'm not around. I can't do it myself in case I get caught, you can do it and go by the pretense you are carrying out some sort of DIY, it doesn't take long to do at all, the instructions are in the book

Ian - But why Kean and Ferguson's cells particularly?

Ruth - Because those two are up to something and I want to know what it is....now any more questions boy?

Ian - No Mrs Ballinger

Ruth - Good, now get to it

Ian - Yes Mrs Ballinger

Ian rushes off

Kelly is laying on her bed in solitary when the door opens and Janice walks in

Kelly - I was wondering when you would show up

Janice - Oh you were expecting me were you?

Kelly - Yes I knew you'd turn up eventually

Janice - We have things to discuss don't you agree?

Kelly - Yes like how you murdered my brother you mean?

Janice - I didn't murder him, darling, he fell, I just couldn't hold on to him. I'm so sorry it was a tragic waste of life

Kelly - You're not the least bit sorry, just like you weren't when you killed my Tan. As if that wasn't enough now you've murdered my brother too

Janice - Well if you're going to play around at the edge of cliffs, you have to expect someone to get hurt

Janice pulls Kelly off of the bed

Janice - Now to be totally honest I did the world a favour, ridding it of that low life. Maybe I should go a step further and rid it of you too

Janice lands a vicious blow to Kelly's stomach, doubling her over in pain

kelly - You bitch!

Janice - That's just the warm-up...

Janice lands blow after blow on Kelly, full force, one after the other. Kelly screams in agony

Ian is in the rec room connecting up the device

Kelly is laid out on the floor curled up in a ball

Janice kicks her

Janice - That was payback, you hear me?

Janice pulls a wincing Kelly onto her knees and gets in her face

Janice - Payback for taking me at gunpoint and trying to force me to jump off a cliff

Kelly - You deserve it bitch! Tanya...

Janice slaps her in the face

Janice - my advice is to forget all about Tanya!

Kelly - I'll never forget her

Janice - Fine, keep your mouth shut about her then. I don't want to hear her name ever again. She is dead and that's the end of it

Kelly (aggressive) - It will never be the end of it as long as I'm alive

Janice chokes her

Janice - You never learn!

Kelly (struggling to talk and breathe) - Go on that's right finish me off right now, at least I'll be with Tan then

Janice pulls Kelly to her feet and drags her out of the cell

Ian is with Ruth

Ian - The devices are all set up now as you asked

Ruth - In Smith and Kean's cells too?

Ian - Yes Mrs Ballinger

Ruth - Now I need another favour and it concerns Bea Smith...can you help?

Ian - Yes Mrs Ballinger

Ruth - Excellent...can I offer you a pickled onion?

Ian takes a pickled onion

Ian - Thanks Mrs Ballinger.... this other job you want doing, what is it?

Ruth - it's about Bea Smiths' visiting rights. Are you aware that the governor stooped them?

Ian nods his head

Ian - Yes punishment for her poor behaviour yesterday when she had been granted permission for day release

Ruth- yes well it just won't do...it is a most inconvenient punishment at this particular time

Janice is with Sister Hall, Kelly is strapped to a bed in the infirmary

Janice - She threatened suicide so I want her on 24-hour suicide watch for the time being

Sister Hall nods her head

Janice - Now I must press on

Janice leaves

Sister Hall sits beside Kelly

Sister Hall - You are a silly girl aren't you

Kelly (angry) - Get these bloody straps off me now!

Sister Hall - I can't I'm sorry, governors orders

Reb and Joan are in Joan's cell

Reb - I reckon we should give her an overdose of heroin

Joan - How would we get the heroin in?

Reb - Gibson could get us some? We could even set her up to take the blame for us

Joan - And how would we pay her for it?

Joan looks confused

Joan - If you have money how come you don't just pay Ballinger what you owe her and get her off your back?

Joan - Yes I think we should...I like your idea of setting Gibson up for it, by the way, that bikie bitch was a mate of Connors and any mate of hers is no mate of mine

Reb - Yes I must admit I am pleased with the plan myself...

Ruth is sat in her cell listening in on the device

Joan - I never thought I'd work with you on anything Kean, but I have to hand it to you, you're not dumb, you're quite smart in fact, I respect that

Reb - You're not dumb either Ferguson, I have to admit that

Joan - I don't and never will like you Kean but when it comes to you compared to Ballinger, it's no contest

Reb - Let's go see Gibson then, once we've got the stuff all we have to do is lure Ballinger to the shower block or somewhere and the two of us together can easily overpower her

They both can be heard laughing

Joan - I'm going to enjoy this!

Reb - so am i..lets go

Ruth uses a fork to pick a pickled onion out of a jar whilst apparently thinking deeply, plotting

Joan and Reb are with Cheryl

Joan - We want some heroin? Can you supply us with some?

Cheryl - I can supply you with some if you can supply the cash, I trust you can?

Reb - Of course, we can...I can have some brought in this afternoon

Cheryl- In that case, you can have the stuff this afternoon

Ian is with Janice

Ian - We have to allow Smith her visiting rights governor, we can give her any other punishments you like but not that one

Janice - And care to explain to me why you feel this should be the case Mr Henderson?

Ian - Mrs Ballinger wants Smith to see her granddaughter, she's prepared to do a deal with you if you allow the visits

Reb - You're fake lawyer degree really helps for privacy Stephen...Did you bring it?

Stephen - Yes of course I did,

Stephen hands over an envelope

Stephen - it's your money, far be if for me to say no if you want it. I wish I knew what you wanted it for though

Reb - Ah now that's my business Stevie boy!

Stephen - Just don't do anything silly Reb, please. I know your escape isn't happening as fast as you'd like it to but I promise you it is happening, its a work in progress

Reb gets up and leaves the room

Janice and Ian are with Ruth in her cell

Janice - Mr Henderson tells me you have taken a special interest in smiths visiting rights?

Ruth - that's right, she must see her granddaughter, she has already been apart from her for such a long time, and any longer would be so very cruel

Janice - Well it's touching that you care so much for Smith Ballinger, but why should I care enough to grant her back her visiting rights? it's a punishment I imposed on her

Ruth - Because I want you to...that's why you should care enough to do it

Janice - And what makes you think I am going to dance to your tune Ballinger?

Ruth - Because I can make it worth your while Raymond....very much so

Janice - Go on...

Ruth - I'm going to be taking over this prison. You won't be able to stop me, no one will, I will be top dog and Wentworth and everyone in it will be all mine. We could work together to run this place, co-operate with each other. You'd get a cut of all my profits and I'd keep the women in line for you. You'd be the governor with the best-run prison in the state. No riots, no bashing's, no escapes, nothing because everyone would be too terrified of me. Imagine how well that would go down with the department? All the browny points you'd score?

Janice - Well it's a very interesting offer Ballinger, but what possible reason do I have to trust you? Why should I trust you and work with you? I don't even like you

Ruth - Because you don't want me as an enemy Raymond believe me, working with me is the much safer option to working against me. And you don't have to like me since I don't like you much either, in fact, I find you quite repulsive!....

Janice - Careful Ballinger!....

Bea is alone in her cell when Ian comes in

Ian - Good news Smith, the governor has dropped your no visits punishment

Bea - Yeah? What made her change her mind?

Ian - She realized it is a cruel cruel punishment to stop you from seeing your family....especially with your long-lost granddaughter coming in for the first time. Who are we to make you miss out on any more time with her when you have missed so much already?

Bea looks shocked

Bea - So Ballinger told you about that?

Ian - Of course...Miss Ballinger and I have an understanding

Joan and Reb are in Reb's cell

Joan looks impatient

Joan -Where is she? I thought you'd said she'd be here by now?

Reb - Patience Joan, I'm sure she'll be here any moment

Cheryl arrives

Cheryl - I'm sorry I'm late, I got held up

Reb - It's ok you're here now and that's the main thing....did you bring the stuff?

.....Ruth is listening in again from her cell

Cheryl - Yes here ya go, good stuff this

Reb - Cheers Cheryl

Cheryl - Have fun girls

Reb - We will

Cheryl - Catch ya later

Joan - Yes see you later Cheryl

There's a few moments silence then Joan speaks

Joan - So now we've got the stuff, what now?

Reb - I'll go see Ballinger and tell her to meet me in the shower block in 30 minutes, I'll tell her I have her money for her. When she gets there we'll both be waiting, we surround her and attack her, she won't be a match physically against us two. We give her the overdose and then plant the evidence in Cheryl's cell

Joan - You best go see Ballinger then

Reb arrives at Ruth's cell, Ruth sits as cool as a cucumber

Reb - May I have a word please Mrs Ballinger?

Ruth - Yes, what can I do for you, Kean?

Reb - It's about your money. Meet me in the shower block in half an hour and I'll give it to you

Ruth lays back on her bed very relaxed

Ruth - Why can't you give it to me now?

Reb - Because I don't have it yet, it's coming in half an hour. And the shower block is the best place to do it, private

Ruth - Ok then Kean I'll see you there in half an hour

Reb walks off with a smirk

Ruth stands in the doorway to her cell watching her go and then calmly walks up the corridor where she bumps into Meg

Ruth - Mrs Morris, I must see the governor right away, its very important

Cheryl and Vicki are smoking a joint in their cell

Vicki - I wonder where Kath is then?

Cheryl - Yeah so do i...I wonder if the clever cow used this abortion thing as a cover to escape

Bea is in the doorway

Bea - If she did then I hope she has the decency not to continue exposing her unborn child to drugs

Cheryl - Oh change the record eh smith, it's getting old

Ruth is with Janice in the governor's office

Janice - What is it this time Ballinger?

Ruth - It's Kean and Ferguson, I think you should have them transferred to Blackmoor as a matter of the utmost urgency

Janice - Oh you do, do you?

Ruth - They are both dealing heroin. I have found out that they will both be in the shower block in half an hour setting up a deal

Joan and Reb are in the shower block

Joan - Where the hell is she? She's taking her time, isn't she?

Janice, Meg, and Ian arrive in the room

Janice - What are you two up to?

He hands it over to Janice

Janice examines it and then smugly waves it in front of Reb and Joan's faces

Janice - Well what do we have here then girls? Got anything to say about it?

Reb and Joan look worried

Ruth arrives at Bea's cell

Ruth - Nicholas is bringing your granddaughter in anytime this afternoon. I trust you are ready? I shall come and fetch you when its time

Bea nods her head

Joan and Reb are taken to reception where they find their stuff packed up ready

Reb - What the hell is going on?

Janice - Drug dealers go to Blackmoor Kean, especially Heroin dealers

Joan - We aren't drug dealers, we've been set up!

Janice - Oh really? You mean you had no idea the heroin was in your possession ladies?

Janice - Well you can save it for the visiting justice, I'm sure he will find it fascinating...now move out
