It's November. The night is at its peak and silence reverberated in the surrounding. The only sound you'll hear were the friction between the tires and the bumpy, unpaved road ahead. Eilif and his friends decided to go for a short halloween vacation in a nice, secluded place they had rented in advanced.
"Are you sure we are in the right path?" Matilda asked, looking out the window from the passenger seat of the Hi-ace van he was driving.
"Of course. Ha! You're doubting my driving skills? Besides, I have the Doodle maps installed in my phone." He replied back, obviously annoyed and boasting towards her.
"But we've been driving for an hour already! I think we're lost." Matilda rebutted to him.
They continue to bicker with each other as they gone deeper through the dark, rocky road surrounded by paddy fields when Eleanor shouted behind their seat.
"Hey, watch out!"
Shocked by this, Eilif immediately returned his sight on the road only to see a lady dressed in white suddenly appeared infront of them and accidentally got run over by him.
"Fuck, Eilif! Did you just ran over someone?" Arius angrily said, as he try to grasp what just happened right now while protectively hugging his girlfriend Eleanor, from bumping towards the driving seat when Eilif suddenly hit the break earlier.
Eilif was stupefied but he immediately unbuckled his seatbelt and got down from the van to check after the lady. He's trembling and his body was covered in cold sweats.
He went to see under the hood only to find that no one was there. He tried to scout a few meters around but he still couldn't find the girl. No blood, no lady in white, nothing!
"What happened?" Matilda and Amelia got down too when they finally able to calm
themselves to follow him and check for the girl.
"She's not here. No. No one was here," He said in a confused daze.
"But we saw her got run over. How could that happen?" Matilda asked questioningly.
Eilif was about to answer when they heard a shriek of terror from Amelia who was standing a few meters away from them.
"Aaaahhh!"
"W-What?" He stuttered as he immediately go to her to investigate.
"I felt like somebody tried to pull my leg," Amelia was already crying so Matilda tried to console her by gently patting her back.
Arius and Eleanor got down now too and went towards where their friends are.
"Maybe it was just a grass? There are lots of grass in here," Eilif stated, trying to make it more seems plausible because no one was here other than them.

"I know what I felt! Somebody tried to pull my leg!" Amelia cried and explained frustratedly.
Eleanor bend down to her knee to check it out. And there it was, a hand print on Amelia's right leg. As if someone had squeezed it with force and so tightly until it has gotten red amd left a mark.
"I think we all should go." Eleanor hurriedly stood up and walk a few steps backwards from where they are and quickly returned to their van.
Eilif watched how Arius worriedly followed Eleanor as they saw her terrified expression. While Matilda guided Amelia who has now stopped crying and help her to compose herself.
Eilif looked around one more time before hopping in into their van again.
They were just in their 10 minute drive when their car's engine suddenly died. Eilif tried to restart it but to no avail.
"Shit. The engine won't start. I think we'll have to fix it first."
Amelia agitatedly said, "What? But we're in the middle of nowhere and we've been driving for hours but I don't see even the shadow of the villa we reserved."
"We have no choice. Ladies, stay here. We'll fix it together so we can quickly restore it." Arius removed his jacket and drape it on Eleanor's shoulder so she will stay warm and his scent would help her calm down a little more.
"Wait for me, baby."
The two got down from the van and opened up the bottom of the driver's seat where the engine was located.
It was taking forever since the rain has just started pouring down so heavily. A loud, booming thunder and sharp, electrifying lightning lit up the dark, gray skies. Eilif thought they are shit out of luck. Well, not until somebody pulled over.
"Do you guys need a lift?" They were an old couple that's probably in their early seventies. They sighed in relief. They thought that they had to spend the night in this creepy road.
The group decided to hitch a hike and spend the rest of the night in the old couple's home in which they said would be just be a 15-minute drive. They will seek shelter there until the rain stops too.
After a few minutes, they eventually reached the house. It was a big old two-storey home surrounded by huge trees. The gates looks rusty and was creaking and making weird noises when wind blows. Everything looks eerily quiet.
"Should we just go back?" Amelia asked in a hushed, worried tone as she looks around.
At the back, Arius and Eleanor were also busy checking out the area with their eyes with their fingers tightly intertwined with each other while Eilif just followed the couple without hesitation.
"I don't feel good about this." Amelia stated, almost close to crying because of nervousness.
"Stop being so dramatic, Amelia. It's just for tonight." Eilif whispered between his gritted teeth, careful to not let the old couple hear what he was saying.

When they entered the house, the old woman asked them if they had already ate dinner.
"Did you guys eat dinner? Wait a minute and I would cook for you."
When all of them had entered the house, the old man shut the door tightly behind them. Making Eleanor unconciously clutch her other hand on the hem of Arius' shirt.
"There's a lot of wild animals in the area so we keep the door closed tightly with chains and padlocks." The man explained as he fixes the locks.
After a few minutes, the old lady served them a bowl of something with a black sauce. The excited Eilif earlier looks like someone who just lost a lottery now. The look on his face couldn't be painted.
"It's pork blood stew. Don't worry it's delicious, go on. Eat up." The gentle smile of the old woman made Eilif felt really guilty so he forced himself to scoop a little bit and then reluctantly eat it.
"Oh! It's good. Really! Eat up guys, trust me." Eilif nudges them to eat too. Only Amelia and Matilda picked up their spoon while the other two just watch him ate a mouthful of it.
"Can I ask what's this dish are mainly composed of?" Matilda asked as she check some of it using her spoon.
"It's made of pork that was cutted into tiny bits sizes and pork blood mixed with vinegar and other spices."
Hearing this, they all immediately put down their utensils.
After dinner, the old couple prepared them a room. Since there are only three rooms available, Amelia and Matilda decided to stay together and so does Arius and Eleanor, leaving Eilif to have a solo room for himself.
It was already two hours passed midnight and rain still wouldn't stop pouring. Since it's an unfamiliar place, Eilif spent the last hours tossing and turning to find a comfortable position. He was about to doze off to sleep when the lightning strike outside his window, casting a light to the silhouette standing near the bedside table.
A familiar white dress. Eilif cursed to himself. He shuts his eyes tightly and cover his face with the blanket. He was sweating. The crippling anxiety and fear started crawling in his heart making him unable to move. He almost peed on his pants. On the other side, the others were still wide awake. Matilda was laying on the bed while Amelia decided to peek through the windows to see what's happening outside.
Amelia audibly gasps as she saw the scene outside and immediately hid herself by sitting down abruptly when a piercing gaze was thrown towards her. She collapsed on the floor trembling in panic.
"What happened?" Matilda immediately went to her, puzzled. She was about to peek through the window but Amelia stopped her by holding both of her shoulders tightly, as of putting her still in her place.
"He'll see you!" Amelia whispered in a hushed controlled voice.
"What is he doing?" Matilda asks, both are still sitting on the floor while leaning to the wall, below the opened window.
"H-he's mutilating s-someone." Although stuttering, Amelia manage to tell that before puking. It was so clear despite it being night time. It was definitely a bloody leg being hang in that dark backyards. The mangled body parts are being displayed in a transparent jar. The blood splattered on the old man's cheek was also horrifyingly clear in her head.
"What?! Are you sure you're not hallucinating?" Appalled, with her eyes wide open, Matilda asked.
Amelia didn't reply to her but instead nervously held her hands, as if she had realized something.
"The others..We have to tell the others!" Amelia was about to run out of the room to go and tell their friends but Matilda held her back by pulling the hem of her shirt.
So she looked back and gave her a questioning look.
"The old couple could be outside. Let's get something first to defend ourselves." With that, Amelia nodded. Understanding that it would be dangerous if they were seen loitering in the hallway, unarmed.
"Let's get Eilif first. He's the nearest one from here. I think his room is located in the west wing."
The two crawled away from the window and carefully made their way back into the bed to find things that would help them protect themselves.
Amelia grabbed her peppermint spray that was disguised as a lipstick while Matilda decided to grasp the old two by two lumber lying around in the far corner of the room.
"Listen, once we get out of the door we would run silently through the hallway and then stop just right before we reach the corridor of the west wing." Matilda explained to her, although nervous, she still nodded.
"Okay, good. At the count of three, I'll open this damn door and then we will sprint."
They discreetly walk towards the door while Matilda held the knob meticulously to avoid making any sounds.
"Ready?" Matilda asked her.
She first took a deep breath before exhaling and nodding at her.
"Okay. One.."
Amelia's heart felt like it would leap out from her chest any minute. Every count that Matilda makes seem so dreadful.
"Two.."
She swallowed her saliva as she clutch the pepper spray in her hand.
"Three!" The moment Matilda said that, both of them sprinted towards the hallway to get Eilif.
They stayed still for a few seconds to calm their nerves. They were about to quickly run again towards the left corridor when suddenly a big, cold hand was pressed on her shoulder.
Cold sweat started dripping down her body and her heartbeat had became more erratic as if it was being squished until everything in her sight turned all black and hazy and she eventually lost her consciousness in response to major stress and fear she had experienced.

Raak
James was in his 30's when his death came suddenly, not that he minded much, as life was seeming to drag on. His story, however, did not end with his death. As a point of fact, it had only just begun. This will be my first work, so please by all means comment with any errors I may have made. Suggestions for the story (which may or may not be used). This is a litrpg and a bit of a power fantasy, so be warned the protagonist will be pretty OP eventually.

John then reincarnates with his AI in a new world where a System influences the interaction between Magic and Matter. With seemingly limitless potential and a game-like system influencing the world, the hero sets on his journey. --AUTHOR NOTE, PLEASE READ-- I will state here my promises to you, potential reader: 1. No harem! I don't trust myself to make a harem feel natural or healthy, I never met any person who has a personality that can adapt and live in a harem for reasons that are not monetary, so I can't draw inspiration from real life. Sorry!; 2. The enemies will not be bland and illogically mean. Some may feel like that at first, but I will take great care in fleshing them out, trust me. You may end up hating some, but you won't be able to deny that they had their reasons for what they did; 3. I am using a paid (and expensive) automated editor tool, and I take longer to write because I take my time in editing the stuff. I am aiming to improve and I will not shy away from constructive criticism, nor take offense for no reason; 4. Characters will die and will suffer, some will get over the tragedies and improve, others will not be as resilient. 5. This novel has a lot of ground to cover, it is neither a short story, a manual on crafting, or the script of some action scene. There will be both time skips and oversimplifications of some actions for the sake of moving the story forward. Time skips will be more prominent in the first 30 chapters. I will describe crafting processes and fights with more detail if they are essential for the chapter; 6. If I took my time describing something, it's because it is important. I hate novels that waste time describing useless stuff. If you skim over something, the chances are that something in the future will not make sense. I am an adept of "Chekhov's gun" principle; 7. I already have 31k words on my auxiliary documents, I have a plan for the story, and I will not be making changes even if someone ends up noticing some foreshadowing and figures out what will happen. The story comes first. 8. I have a wife, a job that demands 9h every day and courses related to my job (lawyer) three days of the week, it's unlikely that I will be able to do mass releases at all. I will have a healthy amount of chapters to be able to post at least 1 chapter every day continually. Don't worry. 9. I will read all the comments. I will listen to all you have to say and will try my best to accommodate demands as long as they do not hamper the path I prepared. 10. There is an arc that spans the entire novel. Each volume will be an arc in itself while progressing a little bit of the main arc. Every arc will have one or more main antagonists. I think that's it! Thank you for reading it all. Have an awesome time reading my first novel!!

Feel free to give suggestions and constructive criticism is appreciated.Another Important Note: Don't judge this book by the reviews that are given by reading only early chapters. Most of those reviews came after my novel went on trending and some wannabe critics who have never written anything in their lives decided it's not trending worthy. If you want to judge then read reviews given at later chapters or better read 15 to 20 chapters yourself. Thanks! :)

How will Oscar ever survive in this chaotic world? Come, watch as our beloved character grows, makes friends, and paves a road into the firmaments as he establish his name in the new historical categories.Author's note*:This is an idea I'm roughing out. I'll be writing randomly, attenmpting to forge a storyline from my own sweat, determination, and creativity. It's loosely based on some Wuxia/Xuanhuan fictions I've read. It will have elements of human physiology, psychology, environmental science, nature vs man, man vs nature, human nature vs humanity, etc. This story is mean to be a work of fiction. It encompasses some of my views on morality. It will have corruption, foul-language, ignorance, racism. It will glean a bright world with imagination fused with the dark shadows for some to seek refuge. Though, in the world I will be creating... Refuge comes at a cost. A steep one. That is the Way of the World. The way of my world.Need cover art plz
