Two days had passed by. This is the day Eleanor would be going to the brood's territory.

Her ladies-in-waiting had already prepared the things she needed and she was just now waiting for Arius to come and fetch her.

"El, make sure to eat well okay? I don't know what they eat in there but if it was not into your liking, I will let our head chef know and deliver food to you." Her worried mother reminded her for the nth time now.

She held her hands and let out a small laugh.

"I will, mother. It's not like I was never coming home again. I will just visit, I was not getting married yet. Please don't worry too much." She tried to calm her anxious mother.

"Lady Matilda, Lady Amelia, I will now leave my daughter into your hands. Please take care of her." The Duke told her ladies-in-waiting.

"Don't worry, Duke! I will protect our milady well!" Lady Matilda said enthusiastically while trying to show her biceps.

The Duke and Duchess just put their palms in their face while shaking their head. They couldn't help but smile because of her antics. It has helped them to calm down a little.

"I see, Dame Matilda. Very well." The Duke replied while holding his laugh. If the girl's father see this, his mouth would foam in anger.

Lady Matilda pouted.

"I prefer the Lady than the Dame, Your Grace. I feel more feminine."

Lady Amelia could not help but sigh and laugh a little while she thought to herself that if the former wanted that, she should never brought her sword anywhere she goes like she was always ready to jump in a fight.

She just thought that her friend was already a hopeless case and she let her be. That's what make her more adorable because she wasn't pretentious at all.

"By the way, El. I have asked His Majesty to lend you one or two of royal knights. Although you can protect yourself and you have Lady Matilda with you, it was better to bring few more people. It would put our mind at ease even a little." The Duke told Eleanor as they retreat to the drawing room.

"I understand, father. But does my brother knew about this? He'll get worried."

When they reached the drawing room, the family sat in the couch while the ladies-in-waiting went to their room to gather a few belongings they would take on the trip.

"I asked discreetly because when he gets a wind of this, he'll turn everything upsidedown." Duke Beaumont knew his son well.

He was protective of his little sister eversince they were kids. He would create havoc if he hear about it.

"Sir Thitus would escort you all throughout the journey. This is his classified mission. I'll already arranged the papers so you could use the teleportation gate. Though you'll need to still travel a little to get there."

Eleanor hugged her father. She was very lucky to have them as her family.

"Thank you, father." Duke Beaumont hugged her back and kissed her temple.

"Of course. Anything for my little baby girl." Although he was smiling, he still can't help but be worried about his daughter.

"Why are you leaving me out? I want to join the group hug too!" The Duchess playfully said with teary eyes and join the hug.

She was touched to see the duo like this.

Duke Beaumont also enveloped her in his arms and kissed her on her cheeks.

They were interrupted when the servant announced that the Brood's Elders son has arrived.

The anxiety in the hearts of the couple had returned.

Butler Blackladder ushered the servants to carry the luggages of their young miss outside and load them in the carriage. Eleanor got up and bid her farewell to her parents.

"Don't worry too much, I'll be back in two or three days. Please take care of your health, mother and father."

"You too, be careful okay? Send out a message if you need help or anything. Alright?" Her mother reminded her.

"Yes, mother. Thank you." After bidding goodbye, they all went outside to watch Eleanor go.

Arius was already waiting outside the two beautiful carriage. He was dashing as usual. His beauty is truly undeniable.

"Duke and Duchess of Beaumont, my greetings, Your Grace." Arius greeted the couple and slightly bowed then his stares proceed to the beautiful young lady beside them.

"Milady, have you been well? I have come to fetch you up."

"I've been good, thank you. How about you? I hope you are the same." Lady Eleanor politely answered.

"I am. Thank you. Should we go now?" He offered his hand towards her to guide her down the stairs.

"Yes." Eleanor took his hands and she felt like a sudden electrifying sensation flowed through her veins once she had held his hand. It was cold but was very soft.

They unconsciously intertwined their fingers together.

"Duke and Duchess, we will be going now." Arius told the couple. He can feel their anxiety so he tried to reassure them even though he knew nothing would change since they doesn't trust him yet.

"Don't worry, I'll protect her and make sure she does not encounter any peril or injustice. You can have my words."

"Please do so, thank you." The Duke asked politely.

"I will." With that, he guided her to the glamorous carriage while the ladies-in-waiting together with Sir Thitus rode to the second one.

They sat facing each other.

The coachmen started to maneuver the horse and they started moving.

"I hope you didn't wait for too long." Eleanor started the conversation to lessen the awkwardness in the air.

"I didn't. Thank you for accepting my invitation even though it might have made you a little uncomfortable."

After that, the silence surrounded the air again. But this time it's less awkward, to be honest, you could say it was serene and peaceful.

Since it will take a little bit more time to get into the transportation gate, Eleanor decided to take out a book she had asked Amelia to get for her in the royal library. It was a book that contains relevant informations about vampires. Since she would be marrying one, it was best to establish a common ground.

"Would you mind if I read?" Eleanor asked Arius.

"Not at all, feel free to do whatever you want. Milady." He answered back.

"Thank you."

Eleanor opened the book and started reading to pass the time but she didn't know she has gotten engrossed in it since it was full of information she had just known about. It was like opening a whole new world.

While Eleanor is busy, Arius couldn't help but to stare at her. Every changes in her expression and her furrowed eyebrows draws him in. Since he couldn't read her mind, it's fascinating to guess what she was currently thinking about.

He can't believe he'll get entertain by guessing what someone was thinking about. Reading someone else's thought was an easy-peasy task for him but his soon to be wife was different. She had piqued his interest.

"Was it good?" Arius asked out of the blue while in his crossed leg position and his elbow on the window pane and his big slender hand was supporting his chin.

Eleanor quickly looked up at him.

"What's good?" She asked in confusion because of the sudden question.

"That book. What's so good about it?" He asked again.

Eleanor looked down to the book she's holding and then to Arius' again.

"Well, I am learning something new so I can't help but be engrossed. Pardon me if I am being disrespectful to you." Eleanor explained.

"I didn't mean it that way, don't worry. Can you tell me what is it about?" It seemed like the moment of awkwardness earlier had long pass.

"Uh. You." Eleanor said. "Me?" Arius asked, confused.

"Vampires." She said specifically.

"Interesting. What did the book says about us?" The conversation piqued his interest. His soon to be wife is really something.

He can't help but chuckle inwardly.

A vampire in flesh was now in her face but she had chosen to read a book about them. It's kinda cute.

"Uhm, is it true that you drink.." Eleanor couldn't continue to ask the question as it may offended her soon to be husband. She thinks that it's too personal and they wasn't in that stage yet.

"Is it true that we drink human blood to live, is that what you wanted to ask?" Eleanor nodded slowly.

Arius laughed.

"We don't. Maybe my ancestors used to. But us, in the brood, we never touched human blood." Arius looked at her and he saw her little mouth formed a circle.

"I didn't knew about that." Eleanor stated.

"Don't read that book and just asked me anything you wanna about us." Eleanor's face lit up.

"Really?" Arius nodded. He leaned back in his seat, getting comfortable since this might take a while.

"Then, is it true that you have super powers?"

Arius looked at his adorable little wife.

"Hmm." He pretended to think a little bit. He smiled secretly. It's fun to see her expectant face.

"If reading minds and stopping time would be considered to be that, then I guess yes."

'Her awestruck face is the best.' Arius thought to himself.

Maybe she had realized that she looked like a naive little kid earlier so she fake a cough and get back to her composure.

"Ask me more." Arius urged her.

"Ahem. Next time again." Eleanor stated and then pretended to look out at the window of the carriage.

"Really? You're not curious about anything more?" Arius asked as if he was provoking her a little more to give in.

She looked like she had so many questions to asked but became shy because of how she acted earlier.

"Nothing, really."

Arius deep voice rang out in the whole carriage as he laughed like a little kid.

The whole journey ended peacefully like that.
