Demarcus Wayne, NJ📍
My mans just got taken into custody and his girl ain't even trippin. She just tryna get shit done and get him the fuck outta there.
"Whatchu plan on doing" Jo'nae asked her.
"First of all before we plan on doing anything we need to play it safe." She said pulling up a chair.
"Play it safe?" Jo'nae said.
"We can't leave behind and trace of evidence. No hair, no fingerprints, no footprints, most importantly no blood." She said looking at us.
"Blood?" Jo'nae said.
"Bitch. My nigga was snitched on and is now in jail. Yes! There will be blood lots of it!" I looked at Ashanti shocked.
I got up and showed the girls to the suit up room. Ashanti smiled big asl when she saw all the equipment. Jo'nae looked amused.
These two dangerous!
Jo'nae reached for a gun and Ashanti popped her hand.
"Ow!" She said holding it.
"Didn't I just say not to be messy w it." She said.
"I just want to see it!"
"Yea well you "Just" want to get caught up or what? We need gloves. Nothing! Gets touched with our bare hands. Put your hair up in a tight bun." Ashanti said tying her hair into one too.
"So what about me." I said touching my head.
"You don't gotta worry about it. You have waves your hair is too small to analyze." She left the room and I locked it back before we got in the car. My phone started ringing.

Ashanti Renèe Robinson, NY📍
Demarcus hands me the phone and I put it to my ear as Demarcus drives.
"Hello?"
"Baby."
"Hey Jay"
"Hey, you got what you needed to get?"
"Yea, What they got you doin"
"Nothing right now. I'm just sitting in the waiting cell. I'm supposed to see the judge tomorrow"
He has to stay over night. I breathed heavy thinking about Rachel and Nicole.
"You not gon stay in there long. We gon get you outta there." I say looking over at Demarcus who knodded his head.
"I know but be safe okay, I'll talk to you again soon."
"Okay."
"Aight bye ma."
"Bye."
I hung up the phone and stared outside. I started to think.
The night the OP house was shot up, Jay said he saw Rachel's bag. That means she was there. So she had to have come back to get her bag because Jay saw her walk in the house with it. So she saw the destruction. The clean up crew told Jay that the bag wasn't there when they got there. So she knew. She knew they were going to the OP house. She knew what time she had to get in and get out before someone came. She left her bag there on purpose. For a reason to come back.

I shifted in my seat.
Rachel knows me and Jay's relationship. She don't like me and she don't like Jay. But she wouldn't fight Jay because she's to scared of what would happen. So she snitched on him to get him put in Jail out of fear of what he would do to her about his stolen money.
I laughed. Causing Demarcus and NaeNae to look at me.
"What is it?" Jo'nae said.
"I understand now." I said looking at them.
"Whatchu mean you understand whatchu been thinking about." Demarcus said looking back at the road.
"This shit has Rachel's name all over it. She snitched on Jay to the police because she was afraid of what Jay would do to her after he found out she took his money." I said to them.
"Think about it the only person that was in control of that camera footage was Dre. Only Dre knows when the guards leave their posts. Only Dre knew the combination to the safe. So how is it that money is stolen, a chunk of camera footage is missing, and Rachel just so happens to have money. He told her everything she needed to know. But he was smart. He had someone that not everyone in this crew was familiar with steal the money and that's Rachel. The whole crew didn't know Rachel. Only you and Jay did."
They listened while I spoke.
"I'm surprised ya didn't catch on to it before me. Her and Nicole work fast food and airport jobs. They are not taking in that much money.Ya let them blindly fool you. That picture of her and Dre should've easily gave it away." Demarcus scratched his head.
"You right." He said. We took a U-Turn and sped down the street.
"Where are we going?" Jo'nae asked.
"The OP house." Demarcus and I said in sync.
Once we arrived at the OP house I opened the glove box of my car and took out latex gloves handing them out.
"So you just have a stash of gloves waiting?" Demarcus said.
"You in business?"
We got out the car and walked up to the house.
"Put ur hood up Nae." I said before pushing open the door.
This house was small but not that small. I walked through out it without touching anything.
"We need to look for a wire, or a camera, or something that she could've used to tell when Jay left." We looked in the small areas where normal people wouldn't bother to look.
"Ayo over here." I hear Demarcus say. I walked over to him and he was pulling on a black cord strapped at the bottom of the couch. He pulled it harder ripping it apart. It was a wire. Like I fuckin said.

"Take the rest of it out." I said taking the wire out his hand. I wrapped it up and held it. This wire was about 5 ft long. It was trimmed around the edges of the couch. We wrapped the rest of the cord up and piled back in the car.
"We need to go back to the trap." I said shutting the door. Demarcus didn't ask any questions he just drove off.
Once we got to the trap I went back into Jay's office I look around a bit for something that looked out of wack.
"What is this?" I said pointing to the frame on the wall. It was a skyline of NJ.
"It's a gift. It was given to Jay for his birthday." Jo'nae said. Something kept drawing me to the frame on this wall. I don't know if it's just my intuition but something ain't right.
"Who gave this to him?" I said taking it down.
"Dre."
"Jay's birthday is August 18th, that's like about a week before I got here."I put it on the desk and ran my fingers across the sides until I felt a small bump indicating that this frame was put back together.
I ripped the edges off and it revealed another wire, similar to the one Demarcus found earlier. I pick it up and show it them.
"You know what this means?" I tell them. They look at me waiting for my answer. "This means they was plottin on Jay way before I even got here. This wasn't no last minute project. They been plottin this for a minute."
"Fuck bro." Demarcus said kicking over the trash can. "How could we be so dumb?"
"Relax, we just need to handle the problem before it gets worse. I need to talk to Dre." I said wrapping up the wire.
They both laughed.
"What's funny?" I asked.
"That nigga dead." Demarcus said.
"Dead asl." Nae added on.
"What shoes he got on in his casket?" They both said laughing.
"Ayo shut that shit up! My nigga in jail behind a bitch and ya wanna akeekee." They stopped laughing quickly and turned to leave and I followed them.
"What's the next move?" Nae asked me.
"We need to get Rachel!" Demarcus said.
"We can't get her De. She snitched on Jay. Everyone knows Jay. You really think the feds gon let her roam freely after she snitched on the head huncho?" I said to him. "Do you know how many people have money on her head rn? Feds ain't lettin that shit fly stop thinking stupid."
I started to catch an attitude because for one, I was hungry. Two, Jay is in jail. And three, it feels like I'm doing nothing to get him out. Everytime I get a piece of evidence it just leads me to more than what I asked for.
"I'm hungry. And it's getting dark outside we should head home." I said getting off the couch. We all got up and stopped at Mcdonald's on the way home. We sat in Nae's room and ate our food.
I couldn't stop thinking about Jay. I wonder what he's doing right now. Prolly walking around or sitting on his bed. I miss him and it hasn't even been 24 hours yet. Once we were done eating I left the room to get ready for bed. It was almost 10 o'clock but my social battery runs out so much more faster now that I'm pregnant.
I took a shower and was getting dressed when I got a phone call.
Hello, This is a collect call from New Jersey's, Bergen County Correctional Facility for inmate Jay'Shawn Lawson. Press one of you would like to accept this call.
I quickly pressed one and put the phone back to my ear.
"Ma?"
"Jay?"
"Hey mama, whatchu doin?"
Hearing his voice was like wearing a safety blanket. Before I knew it I was crying.
"Bae. Don't cry." He told me.
"I'm sorry, It's the hormones."
"Awe, my lil girl messin witcho emotions?" I laughed.
"I think it's going to be a boy. But yea." I sniffled.
"You don't need to be cryin bae. I'm coolin in here. Most the niggas in here I know or grew up with there's nothing to be afraid of." I sighed with relief.
"You alright now?" He asked me.
"Yea, I'm okay, we finished eating and I just took a shower. Bouta lay down."
"Aight ma, I just wanted to call you before we go back in our cells. Get some sleep and stop worryin about me. I'm straight. I promise."
"Okay, bye Jay."
"Bye ma." He kissed into the phone before it hung up. I walked towards my room but stopped and looked into Jay's. I walked in and laid on his bed. It smelled like him.
After what felt like 5 minutes. I drifted to sleep under his blankets.
