"Damn," I said breathlessly as Naala clawed at my back. She held onto me tightly to stop herself from falling. My strokes got weaker as her moans got louder.
The vibration of the dryer beneath her, made her shaking more visible so I knew she was close.
"Ooooo," Naala moaned as we came together. I pulled out and helped her off the dryer.
"There was no reason for us to do that in here," She fussed at me as she picked up her clothes from the floor.
"You asked me to help you with the laundry," I shrugged stuffing my dick back into my shorts.
"Yeah the laundry!" She exclaimed pointing at the basket full of clothes. With a little limp, she walked over to the door and cursed.
"Someone's down here," Naala whispered to me. "How are we gonna get out?"
I sucked my teeth, she was still trynna hide what we had going on from the kids. Her excuse was, that she didn't want to confuse them.
"You go first and I'll come out in 5 minutes," I chuckled making her mug me.
"It's not funny Amir, they're gonna know," She whined leaning against the door.
"We'll say we were doing the laundry," I said pointing to the dryer which was on. I bit my lip because sex on the dryer was truly the best I've ever had.
"Stop thinking about sex!" Naala snapped throwing a sock at me. I blinked at her and then lifted up the clothes basket, and then leaned down to her level.
"Naala we're married. Stop acting like we're cheating or some shit." I said, our lips almost touching.
"You are cheating on Trinity and I'm cheating on Messiah, it's wrong," Naala muttered. I ignored her and pecked her lips.
"He's not your boyfriend," I said kissing her once more.
"Mmm," She mumbled with a small smile. "You are," She said patting my face.
"Man move," I laughed reaching behind her and opening the door.
The rustling that we were hearing stopped and a head popped up behind the couch.
"Pops?" Saint asked with a mug. He looked behind me and his eyes widened. "Mommy?" He said looking at Naala.
"We we're doing the laundry," We both said at the same time. Saint being the dummy that he is laid back down on the couch with his hand in some Cheetos.
"Boy it is 8am, if you don't go and put your clothes on and eat proper food," Naala said snatching them chips out of his hand. "You have school today," She carried on.
"Phat doesn't have to go so I ain't going," Saint shrugged turning the Tv on. Naala laughed and grabbed the remote.
"Saint I am the parent. You are the child. If I say you're going to school, you're going to school," Naala said placing the remote down on the side.
"I'm not going," Saint said sitting up. I could see his fists closing meaning he was about 5 seconds away from exploding.
"Nasir you can clench your fist at me all you want, you're going to school," Naala answered clearing up the mess he'd made.
"I'm not going to that dumb ass school," Saint screamed. He picked up the remote and launched it at Naala making her duck and it hit the TV. He started wrecking the entire living room, smashing pictures whilst Naala screamed for him to stop.

"Are you crazy?" I shouted picking him up and restraining his arms. I had never seen him behave this way, especially not to his mom.
"Get off me," He wriggled and kicked me. "Let me go,"
Instead of keeping him near Naala, I took him to the pantry, set him down and closed the door behind me. Holding onto the handle, I felt him kicking and punching the door.
"You're not coming out until you stop," I said sternly from behind the door.
I heard sniffing and I knew it was Naala. She was on her knees picking up all the broken pictures and glass.
"Love leave it, I'll do it," I said holding onto the door tighter.
"Saint calm down!" I shouted. Maybe it was a bad idea putting him in the pantry because I could hear him knocking things down.
"He's not gonna stop," Naala mumbled from behind me.
"What's going on?" Sinai said coming down the steps. I shook my head and she followed my eyes to the pantry door nodding in response.
"He's doing it again," Sinai sighed. "He does it every day daddy," She tried to say quietly.
"Sinai take your medication and go and get ready for school please," Naala said walking into the kitchen holding all the broken glass.
Sinai gave me a knowing look and did as she was told. After a while, the noise became less and I could hear him heavy breathing by the door.
"If I let you out are you gonna try and hurt your mom?" I said lowly.
"No," Saint replied quickly. I opened the pantry door and shook my head at the mess he'd created.
Naala stood back by the counter, "Go and get ready for school now," She said firmly. This time Saint didn't respond, he just ran up the stairs to his room.
"Naala," I called out when she started to do her normal. Avoid everything in front of her and focus on something different.
"Pancakes or waffles?" She asked me. "I know you like pancakes but waffles are a bit easier. There's some bacon in the refrigerator could you help me get it out?" She bombarded me with questions.
"Naala," I repeated putting my hand on her waist. Naala moved out of my grip and carried on getting out the things she needed.
"How long?" I said to her.
"He doesn't mean to act that way," Naala mumbled. "That was my fault, I saw him getting angry and I kept pushing," She added.
"Don't do that," I replied. "You're making excuses for his behaviour, that shits not cool,"
"Well what do you want me to do Amir?" Naala said with tears in her eyes. "I try to keep him calm but he's always like this," I sighed and hugged her letting her cry in my chest.
"I'm gonna speak to him," I said kissing her head. "Stop stressing my baby out," I said lowly rubbing her stomach.
Naala sucked her teeth and moved away from me. Ion know why she won't just accept it.
"I'm not pregnant, stuff like that isn't funny," Naala complained mushing my head.
"Either you're on the pill or I need to go to the doctors," I said raising a brow. I've been bussing in her for at least a month now and nothing.
"Are you purposely trying to get me pregnant or something?" Naala questioned me. I nodded and she mugged me.

"That's not funny," She whined. "I'm not trying to have a baby right now Amir," I watched her bring out the waffle maker and turn it on.
"We said one more," I said holding her waist. "Just one more baby," I kissed her neck.
"No, I've got Bri's birthday trip to Vegas. I'm not being pregnant in Vegas." Naala said pushing her ass on my dick.
"You do shit like that and wonder why I'm trynna give you another baby," I muttered dry humping her.
"Move," She laughed getting out of my grip. "Phat's got an appointment today," She spoke looking at me.
"I'll be there but I got some shit to do with Trinity," I answered truthfully.
"Like what?" Naala quizzed. "What's more important than our baby?"
"Don't start," I groaned opening the refrigerator. "I'ma be there,"
"I can't stand you," Naala muttered. "You didn't come to last one and now the doctor thinks I'm a single parent." Naala continued.
"Does Doc know I pay the bills?" I asked lowly. "You act as if I don't provide for y'all,"
"Providing and being present is two different things. When was the last time you sat down with your kids and asked them how they were?" Naala asked putting a hand on her hip. "All you do is come up here, watch one movie with them, fuck me then throw money on the table like I'm some prostitute,"
"Why you always bitching man damn!" I complained. "Maybe if I stayed here things would be different," I argued.
"Yeah right," Naala chuckled. "Admit it, you're a deadbeat,"
"I'm not even gonna entertain you." I responded. I walked over to where my jacket was and took out a stack putting it on the counter. "Use that for groceries,"
"See," Naala exclaimed pointing at the money. "You wouldn't even know what to buy if I sent you to the store," She added turning away from me.
"Yes the fuck I would," I mugged. "Matta fact I'll pick up the groceries,"
"Good luck," Naala laughed. "Now bacon or sausage?"

"Bro what kind of cereal do they eat?" I whispered to myself pushing the damn shopping buggy.
"Why are we even doing this?" Trinity whined in my ear. "Y'all have like 5 bodyguards, you haven't invested in a maid yet?"
"Ion know why I even brought your ass," I said to her. I pulled out my phone and dialled the only person that could help.
"It's only $500 daddy, I'll give it back," Maniya said as soon as she picked up.
"What's only $500?" I questioned pushing Trinity out of the way so I could get the cereal.
"Oh," She said lowly into the phone. "Nothing, what's up old man?"
"I'm taking back that black card," I said throwing the cereal box in the buggy. "But listen, what shit does your mama buy for the house?"
"Groceries?" Maniya laughed. "Good luck big man, mama spends at least two hours in the store,"
"Fuck me," I said loudly. "FaceTime me," I spoke into the phone.
"Okay," Maniya replied. I picked up the face time call and put my face in the camera. "Aw you're pouting," Niya cooed.
"Ion know how to do this stuff," Trinity smacked her lips and leaned against me.
"Daddy ew," Maniya said when she saw Trin in the camera. "You and mommy are so weird, always with each other but then always with your little sides,"
Trinity mugged the phone, "They're not always together,"
"Lady I'm talking to my dad," Niya said mugging her back.
"What do you mean we with our sides? You spoke to your mom today?" I asked pushing the buggy down the meat aisle.
"Yeah, she with her little bae or whatever," Maniya said with a smirk. Naala has me all the way fucked up.
"What they doing?" I quizzed,
"Why do you care?" Trinity complained holding my hand.
"Because that's my wife the fuck?" I answered looking down at her.
"Oop," Maniya's messy ass laughed. "I think they were at Saks. They were spending a pretty penny too,"
"So she's out there shopping and I'm doing the grocery shopping," I straight faced the camera. "I'm finna call her," I grumbled.
"Don't be messy daddy, I only told you because you're my favourite," Maniya shouted.
"I'm your favourite ATM," I chuckled.
"That you are Old man, love you,"
"I love you too. Be safe," I said before hanging. Trinity was staring at me so I raised an eyebrow.
"Are you really about to call your wife when I'm with you?" She said with her eyes all sad and shit.
"Go wait in the car cuz you working my last nerve," I said calling Naala's number. It rang for long before she picked up with a mug.
"What?"
"Where you at?" I spoke trying to look in her background.
"I'm doing me," She laughed. "Ooo I like that one bae," Naala said to someone off the camera.
"You already got that one," A deep ass voice replied. "Pick it up,"
"Yay," Naala grinned. "Amir what? I'm busy," She said looking back at the screen.
"That's your baby daddy?" He asked making her roll her eyes.
"Mmm," Naala mumbled. "Are you gonna talk or did you just call me to stare?"
"Come on baby let's go," Trinity said dragging my arm. Naala chuckled and nodded her head.
"What time is Phat's appointment?" I questioned. I really had no reason to ask her because I knew it was at 4.
"You could have texted me," Naala complained. "It's at 4,"
"I'll pick you up," I suggested. Naala shook her head fast.
"You don't have to. I have a car," Naala responded.
"Where is Phat?" I asked. Because if she was out hoeing, where's my daughter.
"She's here, Phat here speak to daddy," Naala said passing Malia the phone.
"Daddy," Malia smiled at me. She looked like Naala so much it was sickening.
"Miss you daddy," Malia said quietly. I smiled because her speech was improving.
"She's so cute," Trinity said looking over my shoulder. "Are you sure she's yours though, looks a lot like her mom,"
I cut my eyes at Trinity and prayed Naala didn't hear that because she would go off.
"Excuse me?" Naala said taking the phone back. Here we go. "Who even are you?"
"Bitch you know who I am," Trinity said making me push her.
"Stop," I said loud enough for both of them to hear.
"Well clearly I don't know who you are," Naala laughed. "Amir I know you didn't call my phone to play with me, I'm not in the mood," I could hear her attitude through the phone.
"Chill," Her boyfriend said on the other side of her.
"I'm not gonna chill Messiah shut up!" Naala snapped. "Everyone wants to play with me all the time, so now I'm gonna play too,"
"Ain't nobody playing with you, relax," I mumbled.
"Don't even bother coming today, I don't want to see your face," Naala said before hanging up. I sucked my teeth and sighed looking at Trinity.
"Didn't I tell you not to talk?" I said to her. "If she stops me from seeing my kids cuz of your shit I'ma be mad,"
"She's not gonna do that," Trinity responded. "If she does then she's mad immature," She rolled her eyes.
"You don't know her, immature is her second name," I answered.
"But you still fuck with her, yeah right," Trinity replied squinting at me.
"Let me just buy these things 'fore I leave you here," I said under my breath walking away from her.
~~
"You gon' have an attitude till you go?"
"He makes me so angry," Naala mumbled looking out the window. Her and Messiah were waiting outside the doctors office. Instead of driving herself, Naala got him to drop them off.
"I didn't make you angry so cut all that shit out," Messiah said turning Naala's head towards him.
"I know but I hate him," Naala said quietly. Malia was awake and she didn't want her to hear her bad mouthing her dad.
"You'on hate him baby," Messiah laughed. He really did like Naala and could see himself being with her for a long time but her husband was stopping that from happening.
Messiah could see that Naala wasn't over Dave and was in fact using him to get over him. He wouldn't have minded if she was at least having sex with him but Naala was holding out.
"There he goes," Naala said watching Dave jump out of his car. "I swear I told him not to come," Naala shook her head.
"Think of Malia," Messiah said holding her hand. Naala nodded and sighed.
"What would I do without you?" She smiled leaning forward. Messiah met her half way, and kissed her. It started of slow and ended with a few pecks.
Dave stood outside the doctors office. Messiah's car had tinted windows luckily so Dave couldn't see them locking lips.
"I've got to go," Naala said softly. She looked at Malia who asleep in her seat.
"Let me help you with her," Messiah said getting out of the car. As soon as he got out of the car, Dave looked over, clenching his jaw.
Naala got out of the truck and put her purse on her shoulder. She took Malia from Messiah and kissed him goodbye.
"That's what we're on?" Dave said as soon as Naala was by him.
"I'm not on anything," Naala said walking past him. Malia lifted her head up at her dads voice.
"Hi Daddy," Malia said with a smile. Malia was truly a daddy's girl. He got the most words out of her.
"What's up Phat?" Dave said taking her from Naala's arms.
"I'm hungry," She said into Dave's ear,
"Daddy will take you for something to eat after this okay?" Dave whispered back tickling her stomach.
"No you won't," Naala spoke pushing the door open to the office. "Today isn't your day to have the kids," Naala added. If he wanted to play games with her then she would beat him.
"I can get them whenever I like," Dave said scrunching his face up.
"That's not what the custody agreement says," Naala muttered. Dave opened his mouth to protest but they were already in the office.
"We have an appointment today for Malia Brewster," Naala smiled at the receptionist.
The receptionist checked them in and the doctor came out to greet them almost immediately.
"Nice to see you again," She smiled as she closed her office door. "I take it you're dad?" The doctor asked Dave.
He nodded and set Malia down. Naala nudged him making him move away.
"I'm her dad," He spoke, his voice low. You could tell he was pissed off but Naala didn't care.
"Great, why don't you play over here sweetie whilst I talk to mommy and daddy?" The doctor said to Malia. She looked to her mom for permission and Naala nodded making her wander off to the play area.
"Okay so I think I have better news this time," The paediatrician spoke.
Naala sat beside Dave and braced herself for the what the doctor had to say.
"Is this to do with her speech?" Dave asked getting comfortable in his seat.
"Well not entirely. Malia has mild autism, that's what's been affecting her social cues."
"Autism?" Naala swallowed the lump in her throat. "But she talks just not a lot,"
"I understand," The doctor nodded. "However, Malia does not make eye contact, her speech is limited and she requires day to day support."
"She's not autistic," Naala argued. "I'm not going to sit here and let you diagnose my child with something she doesn't have." Dave could see Naala getting upset and he knew it was only a matter of time before she blew.
"I assure you Mrs Brewster I wouldn't tell you something that isn't true, Autism isn't the worst thing, she is still fully functional."
"Naala, call me Naala," Naala snapped. "She can't be autistic. We've seen specialists before, she's shy."
"Baby," Dave said putting his hand on her shoulder. Naala shrugged it off and sat forward.
"Malia is at the right stage in her development. However, she has a lot of characteristics that point to her being on the spectrum. I know this isn't an easy conversation to have —"
"It's not," Naala said with tears in her eyes. "My baby -" She paused to stop herself from crying.
"My baby doesn't have autism," Naala continued in denial.
"You reported that you have bipolar disorder?" The doctor questioned picking up her clipboard.
"What does that have to do with Malia?" Dave spoke up. He was still trying to process everything.
"Well it is common that parents may pass mental illnesses onto their offspring."
"First it was autism, now she has bipolar?" Naala said standing up. "We're leaving, Phat come on," Naala said calling Malia over.
"Mrs Brewster —" Naala held her hand up to stop the doctor from speaking.
Dave sat back, not knowing what to do. He wasn't going to storm out like Naala, he wanted to understand the diagnosis. "I'll meet you by the car," He said to Naala.
"Keys," She said holding her hand out. He fished through his pocket and handed her the keys.
Naala left the room in a huff with Malia on her hip.
"I'm sorry about my wife," Dave said to the doctor who didn't seem to be phased by Naala's behaviour.
"I get a lot," She smiled. "Was there something you wanted to ask me?"

Mia Campbell is your average introverted loner. Not exactly satisfied with her life doing pretty much nothing of import, she's also not that willing to break out and make a change. Until, without any preamble or warning, she is bestowed with a cryptic system that both grants her magical powers, and also operates on the logic of a card game. Things begin to escalate from there. **This project is a bit of an experiment! For any given chapter, Mia's 'decklist' will be built by the community, over on our Discord server. If you find this amusing, and want to participate in the discussion, as well as find the complete list of cards, you will be able to find the link to the Discord server at the end of each chapter. Discussion in the comments is also encouraged and included as well. Each chapter and/or scenario will be intentional, but the cards used will be chosen by you guys. And the draws made will be done via actual drawing of cards during the writing process, for bonus author street cred.**
