《Wolfs Bride(bwwm)》Chapter Twenty-five

Bellamy head dropped back, and he stared at the roof but Argo could tell he wasn't truly seeing it. She was still reeling from the news, that her mother had been killed and that the killer had been the women who'd raised her.
Her grandmother had never been cruel to her, aside from keeping her away from her family. The women had been warm, and kind she'd allowed Argo to walk around in her fancy clothes, and would play tea time with her.
Argo stomach lurched, she gritted her teeth she wouldn't show weakness, not here, not now. She needed to know the full story, she had to know.
Bellamy continued his voice hoarse, a tinge of sorrow. "You're mother agreed to it, she said she wouldn't fall in love and I chose her because she needed to the money. So your father and her mated on the blue moon. Celia mother, Ishbel said nothing, as the lovely and well known luna she bared it."
"Bared it." Argo repeated, trying to match a memory to the name but she couldn't.
Bellamy nodded swallowing, "It didn't take long for your mother to get pregnant, and she soon had you. Sadly you were a girl, but unlike when Celia was born, you father seemed to care about you...and Celias mother noticed almost immediately the difference."
He lowered his face his dark eyes meeting Argos. "Ishbel, knew then that your father had fallen in love with your mother. I tried to caution him, and her." He shook his head, "I tried to tell him to stop, but he wouldn't listen!" Bellamy said this in a low harsh whisper. "He said that an Alpha had a right to as many women as he wanted, that his Luna would understand."
"She didn't." Argo said quietly, "She loved him, and it was too painful to watch them be in love."
Bellamy nodded, Ewan tightened his hold on Argo's hand. He had never of an Alpha behaving in such away. S'truth he'd married Argo for similar reasons, but his choice had been a rare one. Most Changelings mated purely out of love in the Highlands, unless there was some extenuating reason to do otherwise.
Bellamy reached up a hand and rubbed the back of his neck, "So you're father decided to meet your mother in the woods, and well Ishbel followed him." His eyes darkened further, "Till this day I'm not sure if she truly knew what she would see. Ishbel had always been kind, and quiet. I think it was too much for her when she saw them together. Her heart couldn't take the hurt and disappointment. Honestly, I think despite her agreement to it, she never thought you're fathers heart would be moved by the girl. Anyway long story short, she snapped and ripped the two to shreds...murdering them both there in their glen."

He closed his eyes, "Their blood coated the ground, and pieces of them were strewn here and there, you're powerful Alpha of a farther, and his breeder had been cruelly and thoroughly dispatched."
"Wait?!" Argo said her eyes wide in horror imagining it, "Celia said her father locked her away, and agreed to the marriage. If Ishbel killed him..."
She left off when Bellamy lifted his hand, his eyes opened shining in the light. "That is a false memory."
He rested the raised hand on his leg, "I was the one who discovered Ishbel, covered in blood carrying you from the clearing. Her eyes were glassy, and empty. When she saw me, I saw her come to the realization of what she had done. She begged and pleaded for me to cover it up, to protect the pack, the tribe and well you."
He shook his head in dark amusement, "Celia saw us come in from the back, became hysterical when she smelled her father's blood on her mother's skin. I knocked her out and took her to her room."
"After Ishbel cleaned up, we starting plotting. It was simple we had a fox changeling, who lived on our land at the time. Foxes have a gift for memory manipulation, and he had a pregnant wife at the time, so we paid him to alter her memories. Once he did we paid him, and sent him off the lands. After that, we simply hired two or three people to clean up the mess. Ishbel dispatched quickly enough."
Bellamy didn't emphasize how'd Ishbel had done it, "She decided to keep you, and raise you to make up for her crime." Bellamy met Argo's solemn stare, with his own calm one," Ishbel truly loved you as her own, that's why she changed to the will to provide more for you, she knew I would take care of celia, and she wanted to assuage her guilt for killing your parents."
He stood, straightening as his eyes glanced at the clock on the wall, "Your mother memories have never been restored, she's been living with a view point that isn't real." He turned his gaze towards Argo, it held a wistful look in them, "Ishbell never told her the truth, not even on her death bed."'
Argo contemplated that, "So I am an omega truly" She asked, her voice a soft whisper, her eyes were cast to the floor. "Was I truly born an omega from a...breeder," She paused, "What was my mother name anyway?"

Ewan ached, for the lost quality in Argo's voice pulled at his heart. She sounded confused, and lost...her family seemed to skeleton after skeleton in their closet.
"Your mother's name was Julie," Argo lifted her tear filled amber eyes dark with emotion, "And it's the funniest thing about titles," Bellamy mused aloud, "Your father believed only man could become Alpha's and leaders of their people." He chuckled, lowering his head, "But he failed to realize that both his daughters were the rarest thing in the world."
"Rare?" Argo said, curiosty coating her voice.
Bellamy nodded, smiling slightly. "Female Alpha's, it's something that rarely happens, but..." He shrugged, "These things are left up to the moon goddess."
He glanced once more at the clock, before sighing. "I've come to say good bye, and it seems my ride has been waiting for a long while."
Good-bye?!" Argo's head jerked up at that, her eyes wide. "You're leaving?!"
She was surprised at the distress she felt curling in her chest, her family had been nothing but horrible to her, and cold. Yet the idea that the men who'd been her father, all her life leaving left her feeling bereft. It wasn't every day the stable identity of your family was torn to shreds.
"Why?!"
Ewan was surprised to hear the desperate quality to Argo's voice, he glanced down at her. She must now have realized that she had not only lost a mother, but she was also about to a lose a father as well.
After all these people, no matter their coldness had still raised Argo, and had been her parents for these years. Argo was also still only eighteen, it wasn't something a young woman of her age often dealt with.
Bellamy nodded, "I have to find to fox changeling, to return your mother memories back. Travis was bribed by Argint, to keep the man in hiding away from my grasp so that he could manipulate your mother." He smiled, seeming to be at ease, "We have to search for him, hopefully he hasn't died, it's the only way to return your mother memories."
Argo nodded, she released her hold on Ewans hand. "And Mo-Celia?"
"Celia will be coming with me," Bellamy said, "It's time I told her the truth about my so called affairs."
Argo nodded, she swallowed staring at her father for moment. It was silent before she slowly made her way over to him, and threw herself into his arms. Her tears were slow, and bitter as they fell down her cheek, she whispered, "I'm going to miss you...daddy."
Her heart ached, for everything they couldn't say, all the misunderstandings and secrets had kept them from ever being a real family. She mourned it, as she understood it.
Bellamy had been surprised at first, but soon his expression had softened and he'd wrapped his arms around the girl who'd been his daughter. And brushed his lips on her head, "I'll miss you to kiddo."
He drew back, and smiled down at her, "Now, take care of the tribe and people Alpha."
She blinked, her eyes becoming wide. "What?"
Bellamy laughed at her surprise, "Well, your brother has decided to leave to find his real father, Chelsey firmly said she wasn't ever going to be in charge. Your mom and I are leaving, who else is going to lead the pack?"
"But-, but?" Argo stuttered, absolutely shocked, as Ewan stepped up behind her and placed his hands on both sides of her shoulders and gently pulled her back against him.
The two ignored her stuttering, and shared a look.
"You will watch out for her, and protect her." It wasn't a question but a statement, said in a hard voice.
Ewan nodded, "I will nae allow anyone to hurt her."
Bellamy stared at him hard for a second, before he gave a short nod and turned and made he way towards the exit.
Argo realizing, he was leaving, went to chase after him. Coming out of her shock, she had to tell him that she was not going to be alpha, her college classes wouldn't allow it. How the hell was she supposed to tell people over thirty what to do. She was not doing it.
Ewan hands kept her still, he leaned down. "Calm lass, it willna be so bad."
She jerked anger eyes to his face, "And how do you know that!?" She demanded to know.
He smiled gently down at her cute angry expression, "Cause my love, yah have me."
She stilled, and suddenly her anger became radiant. "I do, don't I."
The two shared a meaningful look, before Ewan leaned down and showed she definitely had him...actually she had all of him, much to the chagrin of Heather who walked in on them.
