《Wolfs Bride(bwwm)》Chapter Nineteen

"How do you wish to start building?"
Roland asked as the broke their fast, it was six in the morning and Ewan had left his bride in bed. He'd been reluctant to leave her, but he had to start giving land to his people, and look over the dower lands that now belonged to him.
He frowned as he stared down at the map on the coffee table, it showed where the Bellamy lands had been built up at, but the house he and Argo had been given. Had eleven acres surrounding it, he'd been shocked at the amount of land Argo had been gifted with.
Five of it, would be perfect for his people to build their own community around. He lifted his eyes from the map, and faced Arutur who was currently speaking to a contractor. "Has he agreed?"
Arutur pulled the phone from his ear, "Yes, Laird he say he will come around twelve."
"So you really intend on moving our people here." His sister said as she entered the dinning room, her long dark hair pulled in a high ponytail. The lovely green gown had been given up from jeans and a white t-shirt. She took a seat at the table, grabbing a piece of toast she ripped off a piece to eat. She frowned at Ewan, "Does Argo know your plans."
"I thought everyone knew." A sleep clogged voice spoke, everyone turned their attention to the bleary eyes Argo. Who wore panda printed pajamas and a loose fitting shirt, that Heather knew belonged to her brother.
Her hair was a mess of curls and nappy whirls, walking fully into the room she walked over to the kitchen area where Ewan's mother had been quietly cooking. She smiled when she saw Argo, she reached out and moved some hair from Argo's eyes.
"You should have slept in," Her smile turned into a smirk, "It is the day after you wedding."
Argo shrugged, yawning as she reached for the freshly brewed coffee. "Well my warmer left me, so it got uncomfortable lying around on my own."
"Awe, Laird you left your bride out to get cold." Arutur teased flicking his blonde hair out of his eyes.
"I would like it if you didn't joke about my bride." Ewan said in annoyance as he stood, and walked over to Argo. Who willingly went to him, he pulled her into a hug and brushed his lips across her forehead, "I'm sorry Mo gra. I should have stayed longer."
Argo shook her head, pulling back she smiled up at him. "I know you need to get your people settled," She turned her eyes to their audience on onlookers, "And as some would say I'm just as responsible for our people as you are."

Taken aback her claiming his people, Ewan couldn't help the feel of pleasure that rolled through him. His Argo, would she ever disappoint him...well he still desired her love, but aside from that he was happy he'd chosen to marry her.
He reluctantly pulled let his arms release her, "I have to meet my Bruther Duff to speak about your shares, and after meeting the contractor we have to meet the laywer with your parents."
Argo frowned, a troubled look coming to her eyes. Ewan brushed a finger down her cheek, "Would you rather not go?"
"I..." She paused, and she took a deep breath. "I don't want to, but I will." She lifted her chin, a show of confidence. "They aren't monsters just Changelings, who follow the ways of their people. I can't blame them for it."
"I will." Ewan said harshly, their eyes met. Her curios, his fierce. "I won't abide disrespect of my bride."
"OOH!" Heather said from the table, she added teasingly. "Lass, you've a warrior on your hands, him and his lads are always eager to run a person through with their swords."
Ewan through her an annoyed look, before he, Roland and Arutur left.
Argo watched them go, missing the feeling of Ewans arms wrapped around her. Sighing, she finished her coffee and headed back upstairs she needed to unpack, and start making this house her new home. She finally had her own house, she would have rather have had her own home later but...at least with the price of her freedom she'd gotten so much.

I couldn't stop the feeling excitement as I walked around my dower house. It was two floors, but it made that up in width. There were four rooms that had bathrooms, and there six guest rooms. Three bathrooms that were stand alone. Down stairs there was the kitchen, it wasn't as big as the one at the main house but it was perfect for a newly married couple, actually way more than better. I loved it.
The dining room was large, and connected to the kitchen. The living room, was next to the dining room, you could get to it by going down three steps that were next to the wall. A large glass window let in a great amount of light.
Tons of storage space assured me, that I wouldn't have problem if the family expanded. Sighing, I was slowly growing stressed at the idea of decorating. There were basic things like tables, and chairs and every room had a bed. And Ewans bruthers had brought some of their stuff, but I wanted to paint and...with a clap I turned around and smiled at Heather, and my mother-in-law who had made it clear she wanted me to call her Rose.

They met my enthused look with a weary one, "Do you think the other ladies will be okay with helping us make this place presentable. I mean it would be hard work, but this is the house of their Laird."
"I have a confession," Heather said quickly lifting her hand, "I'm not all that keen on house decorating."
"Aye," He mother said with sarcasm, "She'd rather chop a tree down, than bake a cake."
I laughed, "Well then I'll stick you with painting duty, I want to make this place into a home, my home within a week."
Rose walked over, and placed a hand on my shoulder, "Didn't I say I like this lass? Because I'll say it again. I like this lass a lot." I wasn't used to the motherly warmth that she was giving me. Sadly, it felt awkward but at the same time comforting.
Later after we'd gone to each room, and taken inventory of what would be needed, and what should be thrown out.
I went into my room, and called my school to schedule my finals exams, and get the dates for when I would need to go in and pick up my diploma. I hadn't ever been concerned with actually walking across the stage. It was more about the paper, and with this marriage I at least was no longer under my father's power. I was now married women with a very strong Alpha.
Finished talking to my teacher, I hung up and looked around the room. Someone knocked on the door, getting up from the vanity table I walked over and opened it.
It was Heather she smiled at me, "I didn't want to disturb your rest, but Ewan called to say the laywer is here and that he's headed to the main house." A look of concern entered her eyes, "He said you don't have to come if you have no wish to."
My eyes widened slightly I didn't need protection from my family, but Ewan felt overly protective I guess.
Lowering my lashes, I smiled, "I will be there."
Heather seemed to believe I was gathering courage, so she stepped up to my side and placed a comforting hand on my forearm. "You'll be in good hands," She said cheerfully, "You're a Mckillan."
Smilling, I nodded. Heather and her people were kind people. I wasn't usually the one for evil thoughts but they were so trusting, as I stared in Heathers bright eyes I felt slightly guilty. I would spend the rest of life repaying them for their stupid kindness, if they knew my true thoughts.
I shook my head, and quickly said bye to Heather and headed to the Main house.
**
Walking into the house the first person Argo saw wasn't Ewan but her brother. Rorik stood in the hallway outside of the office. He looked dissatisfied with something, his throat no longer had the white wrapping around.
Argo had avoided meeting her brother, because there wasn't really any way to apologize about nearly breaking someone's neck.
So she was surprised when he spoke to her without facing her. "So you went through with it?" There was certain dryness to his voice.
Coming to his side, she stopped and sighed, "Did I have a choice?" She gave him an annoyed look, "I was just as stuck as you are."
Rorik frowned, his eyes focusing on his toes. "Stuck, huh." His brows furrower, "You probably thought you were that had it the hardest."
She shrugged lowering her chin, "I don't I had it harder, I just think our family isn't at all normal."
"Normal?" Rorik scoffed, he gave her a side glance, "We're people that change into animals on the blue moon."
He shook his head in silent amusement, his amber eye darkened. "You're lucky you got out. Sadly, Chelsey is just as stuck as I am. Mom has no intention of allowing me to put off taking the title of leader after graduation."
"Yeah, she can be bull headed about things like that."
They shared a companionable silence.
Till Ewan entered, his tall frame had become something that Argo look forward to seeing. She left her brothers side and walked towards him, easily fitting by his side as he pulled close to him. His ice colored eyes, stared down at her with warmth.
"Are you ready?" He asked Argo, placing his lips gently against her forehead. Argo nodded, with a shrug.
"I don't think it matters if I am or not," She smiled up at him, "If this works out, you'll be the next leader huh?"
Ewan stared down at her silently, his expression unreadable. He said something that shook her, "I no longer have need to be the Alpha or the CEO of the Light company."
Before Argo could say anything to his sudden announcement, her father stepped from his office and called them into the room.
Argo reluctantly was pulled along by Ewan, still shocked by his announcement.
She only had one question, "Why did you marry me then?"
She'd married him, because she'd known his reason. It wasn't dressed in shadow, and if she decided to leave she wouldn't feel guilty because she had given him what he wanted. Yet, yet Ewan had destroyed her perceptions in one fell swoop.
