《Wolfs Bride(bwwm)》Chapter Thirteen

The blue moon was the night that wolf-changelings felt the most willing to mate.

Of course our kind could always mate during the year but it was standard for newly wed couples to wait for the blue-moon for their wedding to mate.

Ewan apparently didn't follow this tradition, he was rough as he pressed his lips into mine, his tongue scraping against mine. His hands had long ago worked together in divesting me of my top, and were now trying to unbuckle my pants. His hard chest pressed into mine.

I wanted this moment to last forever.

Like a coward I was seeking an escape from the lack of control I felt I had in my life. He moved his lips from mine to my throat, letting his teeth play with my ear. His hands were now cupping my breast, I flinched as his fingers played with my nipples.

Gasping when he lowered his lips to my chest, I stared at the ceiling. The designs in the white plaster blurred, my heart echoed in my ears. He drew back, his hair having escaped from his tie. Fell against his face, giving him a gloriously attractive wild look.

Confused I stared up at him, my chest heaving with labored breath.

He leaned back on sitting on heels, his eyes stared at me predatorily, the glow unnerving.

"Lass... it would be best if we stop now." His heavy breathing roughened his voice to a growl.

Lifting up my head, confused I blinked up at him. "W-what? Why?"

He stared at me silently, before he turned away and slid off the bed. His voice muffled as he picked his shirt up from the ground and pulled it on. "I promised you that I would respect your wishes," Pulling the shirt down he faced me his ice eyes clear, "And if I make love to you, Lass your choice will be gone."

Dropping my eyes from his intense ones, I couldn't help the niggling belief that despite everything Ewan was saying...he just didn't like me enough to take the risk.

Yeah, sure. Respect, honestly he could have said he was cursed or something and I still do what I'm doing now.

Glaring at him, I got off the bed and grabbing my bra I quickly put it back on, followed by my shirt. Shoving past him and ignoring him calling my name, I ran down the stairs not even glancing at the others who were lounging in the living room.

Shoving the front door open I took off. Wincing when I felt a stone under my foot, I ignored the pain I allowed myself to be carried off with the wind that caught me under the hair.

The sun light flashed past me my lips lifted and soon I couldn't hold back the grin that was coming to my lips. Leaping over a fallen tree, I lifted my arms up, letting my head tilt up towards the sun the warmth spilled down onto me.

Landing, softly I turned around only to have my eyes widen in surprise to see Ewan staring down at me from the other side of the fallen tree trunk.

Slowly standing, I smiled at him. "Not so helpless am I?"

His lips quirked up, and suddenly I felt the tension in the air. Before I realized it I'd turned around and taken off.

His feet pounded the earth as he chased me down, a heat from my side caused me to stop short and spin to the right.

Ewan grunted as he missed me, almost hitting the tree to my right, he frowned at me his eyes sparking with challenge.

With a childish giggle I took off once again. The empty woods were filled with my laughter, and Ewans grunts of frustration as he tried to catch me.

Until I came to the waterfall, looking behind me I could hear him coming closer. Looking up to the sky, I couldn't help the feeling of happiness that rushed threw me.

Closing my eyes, I leaned forward diving through the air before hitting the water.

Slowly the water bubbles floated up around me, before with a sudden splash Ewan appeared in front of me. I watched as he searched for me, when his eyes found mine he swam over together we floated to the top. Breaking the surface, we silently stared at each other.

His icy-blue staring into my shinning brown, shivering from the cold of the water that rushed around us.

His hand jerked from beneath the water and he grabbed the back of my head jerking me forward, our lips once again smashed together.

Taken aback and shocked at the emotion in the kiss I shoved him back, and quickly swam away.

Pulling myself up on the shore I left him behind and headed back home.

"Their getting too close."

Corra stared outside of the office building of the Light Company. "She's growing attached to him." Turning around she glared at the male who appeared relaxed as he stared into space. "The more attach she grows to him, the less likely he can be dispatched easily."

"And why is that a concern," The male met her gaze, his brown eyes narrowed. "We still continue as planned."

Walking around her desk, she leaned back against is while glaring at him. "If you don't recall not only is Laticia eighteen, but once she marries she would have met all the requirements to get her inheritance."

"We will still be able to continue with our plan, as well a gain the upper hand in this affair." He stood his tall figure filled the room. His stern expression became harsher. "Remember Corra, Argint doesn't forgive disloyalty." He grinned maliciously, "In fact it becomes quite gruesome when he repays it in kind."

Corra eyes narrowed on the back of the departing retainer of Argints. She should never have gotten in bed with such a ruthless family, glancing over to the picture of her husband on her desk. Her expression became cold, then again sometimes lying with snakes was preferable to anything else.

Entering the house, with wet feet I quickly made way towards the kitchen hoping that no one would see me. Only to have all my hopes dashed when my little sister nearly ran into me. Quickly side stepping, I couldn't help but notice the trail of tears running down her cheeks.

"Wait! Chelsey!"

Travis came running out of the kitchen after her, he barely glanced my way. I watched him disappear down the hallway.

Shaking my head at their melodrama, I continued my way towards my room. I sure had forgotten about their arranged marriage thing. Travis wasn't a bad guy, but he wasn't a good one either. Like the usual Alpha he played an arrogant ass most of the time. But he'd never caused me any issues.

Aside from the time he attempted to make Chelsey jealous, all parties were left feeling awkward and embarrassed.

Entering my room, I shut the door and leaned against it. The water dripped down my back, but my eyes were focused on my desk in contemplation.

I was allowing myself to get swept away with the whole fantasy of the idea of falling in love. I shook my head at my own foolishness. It was obvious for all intent and purposes that Ewan desired me, but desire doesn't make for a happy marriage. Considering my parents loved to forget to close doors, I'd learned early they were perfect for each other...in bed.

At best they had a cordial alliance, at worst they were two enemies stuck in a cold war.

I digress, the wedding was something I couldn't avoid. I really had no plan since it was at the end of the week, but after-. There was nothing stopping me from running in May, once I walked across the stage and grabbed my degree I could disappear and no one would-.

Forcing my mind to stop. Bring a hand to my forhead I rubbed it, how much longer was I going to lament not having a "normal" family. Chuckling, I pushed off the door and grabbed my towel off the floor. Ever since Ewan had come into my life I found myself constantly whining about the obvious.

When had I grown so weak? Sure, he was handsome and seemed the only one willing to help me but-but, no one interested in the Bellamy family was ever kind for no reason. And he's spoken himself of his wish to take my fathers seat in the tribe.

Smiling, I entered my bathroom. If I had to guess, he was definitely after my dower lands. It was a good chunk of the estate, even though my grandmother hadn't ever spoken out against grandfather while he was alive. She'd taken a lot of liberty in changing wills and such after his death. Luckily she hadn't seen me as a worthless scrap of life.

Pulling my shirt off, and letting it slop to the ground, I stared at my reflection my eyes were watery. A symptom from losing the only person who'd truly loved me in this world. Her warmth had been the light, when I couldn't understand why I wasn't allowed to go to the main house.

I'd see my sister brother playing from the window, and watch them run with father. Their laughter pulling the six-year-old me in close, pressing little hands and face to the window, wishing I could be a part of it, only to be pulled away and forced back to training.

Memories were better left with the dead. I'd almost allowed myself to get caught up with giggles and rainbows. Scoffing, I continued stripping it was time to return to the reality.

Sure Ewan was kind, and marriage could be great. But for me, the desire to run wild and be free was much stronger. To see a world full of people who could and would welcome me was my dream. To be accepted was a life goal, and sadly I didn't want to be caged, even if the bars were ivory.

Entering the shower, I let my winsome girly thoughts get rinsed away.
