《When Stars Align》Fate Has Other Plans

As the week rolls by, everything goes by normally, and i start to put my 'little adventure' behind me, even Rachel has given up her interrogation of me and has gone back to treating me like before, friendly but with some distance.

With her house a couple of blocks away from my apartment building, she usually offers me a ride home when she is headed straight there from work, which she has continued to do this week.

By thursday, am glad to be coming to the end of the week, and looking forward to tommorrow, i genuinely love fridays because i know the weekend is just around the corner, and everyone is generally in a good mood.

Plus, no matter how bad the week was, i'ld know i have the weekend to recuperate before starting again on monday, so atleast i can look forward to work tomorrow.

My thursday evening chill and cooking session is intertupted when i receive a call from Ally.

We met when she, together with some other people from the non profit foundation she manages, came to our school to open up a new department aimed at offering Extra curricular activities for kids with special needs.

During the event, we were introduced and she turned out to be very down to earth and relatable.

Then she came back to school a week later in her own capacity to check how things were going and attended my class. Afterwards, she asked me to tutor her in English and history and the rest is history i guess.

Now, despite our student-teacher relationship, she has been incredibly kind and nice to me and we have been really friendly with each other so much that she even invited me over to a family party once.

"Hello" i smile into the phone.

"Hey you, how are you doing?" she sounds happy.

"Am good, thank you, how are you feeling?" I ask, remembering the last time we spoke, she mentioned she wasn't feeling well and so had to cancel our lessons.

"Am feeling better now, thank you"

"Great, are you calling to reschedule our class then?"

"No, actually, to invite you to a girls night tomorrow, and before, you say anything, am not taking no for an answer." she says.

We go back and forth for a few minutes until i say yes eventually.

I imagine there must be a ton of people she must be friends with, or people who are better suited to her in terms of running in the same circles, i honestly, don't understand why she is so friendly and persistent with me.

I can only imagine how Rachel would act if she were in my place, i chuckle. Infact, if she finds out i know Ally personally...... aarrghh...i don't even want to think about it.

Am glad that we have kept our lessons private and out of the public eye.

Anycase, after last weekend, i would have prefered to keep my distance away from the rich and famous on a personal level, but Ally and her sisters are just so sweet, i really do enjoy their company.

So now, i guess i have a date for friday night. I hope it won't turn out to be like last friday.

After a lazy none eventful week, friday evening has me relaxing at home waiting for Nick. He and Ally recently moved into their new house, and Ally invited her sister's over for the weekend for a house warming party, or sleepover or something like that, leaving Nick to require a place to stay for two nights.

I offered my place, and he agreed to come.

Normally, i like my privacy and space, but lately, i have been craving more company. I guess after Nick married Ally, he has been spending most of his free time with her instead of me like before, which has left a notable gap in my life.

If he wasn't so happy, i would have detested the idea of him being wrapped around Ally's finger, so to say, but he is and am happy for him.

Personally, i don't like such commitments, never have, never will. But glad its working out for him.

And now that they are expecting a baby again, his is in an over the top good mood which is incredibly annoying to be around, so i invited Aaron and Roman to come over aswell so we can 'neutralise' the situation.

Saturday morning comes and we all decide to go to the country club.

Siting on the edge of the couch, i watch Nick and Roman bickering back and forth over Roman's suggestion to pass through his house for a few minutes to wish Sienna, Ally's sister a happy birthday.

Roman is still shamelessly pursuing the girl even though she has turned him down a number of times now.

She is a pretty girl and all, don't get me wrong, but i don't understand the fascination these guys are having for the Crowe sisters.

I for one don't want to be that emotionally invested in someone else, not ever again.

Besides, i have seen what that kind of emotional attachment does to other people both professionally in my work as a lawyer and personally through family and friends.

"Look, it's on the way anyway, it will just be five minutes" Roman insists causing Nick to roll his eyes at him and it makes me want to laugh, i know Ally will have his head, if he brings him anywhere near her sister again.

"Yeah, well, why not, there is nothing to lose, it's along the way anyway" Aaron supports Roman, to Nick's annoyance and then walks out the door after Roman not waiting for Nick's response.

Nick sighs in resignation and looks at me for support.

"Don't look at me, they are your brothers, it's none of my business" i retort, as i position my shades over my eyes and walk out of the door after them.

At the house, we find the ladies are outside on the lawn, in the aftermath of some game they just played.

Within minutes the guys dissapear and i cannot seem to locate anyone.

Soon, what was supposed to be 'five' minutes of just passing through has now been more than thirty minutes.

Not seeing where the hell everybody dissappeared off to, i make my way to the kitchen, am pretty sure, i will find Aaron there, like Marco, he is always drawn to food like a magnet, he works out pretty hard so i guess it makes him hungry alot too.

On my way there though, through the glass wall, i see Marianne on the terrence with Ally and i can't help but do a double take.

What the fuck is she doing here?

I thought it was only Ally's closest circle invited here, unconsciously, i stop and watch them through the glass.

This is the first time i have seen her wear something that actually fits her body. Like the other ladies, i have seen so far, she is wearing shorts, black cycling shorts and a loose red tank top that shows off a black sports bra inside. Her beach blonde hair is up in a pony tail with a red bandana tied around her head. she paired the look with black and white canvas.

She looks highly competitive, i don't know what game they were playing before we arrived but she obviously took it very seriously and i would have killed to watch her in action.

She actually has a beautiful body, long nicely shaped legs leading up to a round behind and curvy hips to suit. Why she hides it in unflattering clothes, i don't understand.

After last friday, i genuinely did not expect to ever see her again, but it seems, fate has other plans.

Against my better judgement, i decide to approach them.

Despite my reluctance to accept Ally's invitation, i couldn't help my excitement building as friday afternoon approached, Luke proved to be even more excited than i was as he watched me pack a sleep over bag.

As usual, Ally, her sister Sienna, her best friend Rita, Lu and Lizzy are nothing short of welcoming and kind to me when i join them. We start off the night cooking, combined with lots of gossip curtesy of Rita. We later watch TV, do each others hair and camp out on the floor infront of the TV.

The following morning after breakfast, we hang by the pool and after doing nothing for a while, we decide to play a game of volleyball.

I team up with Sienna and Liz and we ended up winning, much to Rita and Lu's dismay who turn out to be bad losers. Ally mostly just reffereed the game. Everything is going great, and i am even happy to learn Nick has shown up to check on his wife and also wish his sister inlaw a happy birthday, which i think is so sweet.

I didn't realise Nick didn't come alone until everyone starts dissapearing in little groups.

After waiting outside for a while, i grab my water bottle and head back inside. I meet Ally by the terrance as she is looking for her sister who according to her, has now 'disappeared' somewhere.

"Wait, Is he the one calling again?" Ally asks me when i receive another call from someone i hoped would stay away from me for good.

I look down at my ringing phone and sigh.

"Yes, i think so, i don't know what to do anymore" i respond with a frown.

"Do about what?" A farmiliar deep voice asks, a voice i had hoped to never hear again.
