Discourteousromance

"This operation was too easy dammit! Almost as if they were expecting us...or weren't in this case? An organization that had been existing this long, has thoroughly built their defenses overtime. When they say it's impossible to steal from them or break into those fortresses, its not boasting or exaggeration, it's fact. And I can tell you now that there weren't more than five heavily armed men in that building when we got there. There were although various security alarms and triggers, hundreds of them even: heat sensors, eye sensors, every security gadget you could think of, some of which we haven't even seen before, was all in there; But close to half of those alarms and expensive gadgets were turned off. Shut down. Almost as if someone turned it off, which is weird because why would they shut down their own security system? Why would anyone? Maybe this is just me and my overly cynical mind going into excessive overdrive. And I remember now that the door of the vault where we found the diamond, didn't even require a fingerprint or an eye scanner. Just a password. And when we typed in Machiavelli, the door opened. Even if you were going to use just a password, why use the most obvious name anyone could think of?" He paused, wanting to let that sink in with everyone first

"Um...wow. This was actually what happened and I didn't even think anything of it. Just thought it was our insanely good luck. Now that you mention it, it actually does look testy. As big as that fortress is, just five guards at the gate? Ethan...what do you think this means?" Flick asked

"That they were expecting us" he surmised

"What? That's also not logical. Why would they purposely let us steal one of their most treasured item?" Viv asked. Her brows etched in a frown

"Added to the fact that we have never had any dealings with them before. How would they even know about us?" Aaron asked, reasoning too from Viv's point of view

"I don't know. And I've got no answer to any questions you're asking right now. Maybe I'm wrong, and by god, I hope I am. We might have actually gotten lucky like Flick said. I guess time would tell...eventually. By tomorrow morning, we would all gather back here, to think of...and implement ways to avoid any future confrontations with the order, if it does happen" Ethan offered

"I can't. Not tomorrow. I've got to be at court in the morning. A case I was assigned to" Viv said

"We could make the meeting on Sunday then" Ethan amended

"So you can go home Viv, while we wait for Mr Nygma" Aaron said

"Alright. I'll do that. Order or no order, congratulations once again guys" Viv said, tiredly rubbing her neck as she walked out.

"What happened? You took so long in there. I thought you just wanted to see the diamond and come back out?" Rich asked worriedly. He'd been waiting in the limousine with the driver for the past fourth five minutes

"I'm so sorry Rich. I totally forgot about you still being out here waiting. I thought it was just the driver; I would have come out sooner" she said, her already tired body attempting a smile.

With that, the driver sped off, until they got to her condo. She was glad she'd bought the place, not minding the exorbitant price she'd paid for it. She'd bought it at a bid in an auction house. It was mainly made of glass and almost everything inside was white. The chairs, tables, everything. Her own little safe haven. The place she same to, when she needed to get away from the world. The wide compound of the condo, also came with a swimming pool and a bar. There were only two people working for her here. Her gateman Jude, and her nanny of sorts, Amelia. They were also highly trained, skilled fighters, just as she was. Other than that, she didn't have any other extra pound of heavy weight muscles around the house. Between the three of them, they could see to just about any kind or form of intruder. Not that she made a lot of powerful enemies in the first place; powerful enough to come break into her house. Both Amelia and Jude also lived with her in the condo. They stayed downstairs while she stayed upstairs. These two housemates of here had become friends...family.

Backing her front door and turning to face Richard, Viv once again tried to put on her best smiling face "Thanks Rich. For everything. What would I have done without you?"

"you're a very strong woman Vivienne. Strong in ways some women could only sit and pray to be. So I'm sure you still would have been able to manage, even if you were all on your own" Rich said, laughing softly, drawing closer to Viv and slowly backing her against the door

"Um...you should go now" Viv whispered, staring at him intently

"Why do you keep pushing me away Vivienne? You've been pushing me away for the past three years when deep down, you know how I feel about you"

"Rich I'm so tired, I really can't do this right now. There's nothing anyone of us can do. I mean, we've tried marriage already and it didn't work out. What else is there to try again? Maybe we simply don't just fit. Have you ever thought about that?"

"Don't fit? You were the one who left Viv. It was you who drew up those divorce papers. You alone decided that you'd gotten fed up with our marriage of just four years"
