《Real Life Paranormal Experiences Part 1》The Figure at the End of the Hallway

For 13 years, my family and I have lived in an apartment we rented. It was more like our second home and I loved it there, however, people would tell us that the place was haunted.
I laughed at the idea because it was actually us, scaring the people by making weird sounds and noises, hidden behind curtains and closed windows.
However, my mother told us a story that simultaneously confused and scared her.
I was two years old and was eating breakfast in the chair, with my baby sister laid down in a stroller beside me.
My mother was washing dishes at the sink behind us, two feet away from us.
When my mother got back, she shrieked.
My baby sister was laid down on the ground, four feet away from the stroller while I was sitting down on the chair, still eating.
My mother asked me, "Were you the one who put your sister down on the floor?" (Back then, I was a smart kid and I understood questions immediately).
I replied no, my mother told me, and I even insisted on it.
The shocking thing is my mother never once heard a sound of falling or crying.

Seven years later, I encountered another paranormal experience with my sister again.
It was around seven o'clock at night and we were waiting for our dad in the school where he teaches.
My sister brought her best friend and we played until our clothes were soaking wet from sweat.
We agreed to rest for a bit at the stairs of the building.
Now, there were many stories of ghosts and creepy experiences lurking around in the buildings. The school had lots of buildings and usually they were built tall and wide.
The particular building we were resting at was considered very haunted but of course, we were kids and never gave it much thought.

"Hey, who's that?" my sister's best friend (a girl, by the way) asked, and pointed at a figure at the end of the hallway.
The figure was sitting down on a bench and their face was covered by shoulder-length black hair. She or he was holding a black bag and it looked suspiciously like a student of the school because the figure was wearing the school's uniform.
"Hello? Who's there? Hello?"
I shouted at the figure for a number of times but there was never an answer. After several minutes, it was only then that we realized maybe the one we were talking to, wasn't a human at all.
We ran quickly out of the place and never looked back.
The next day, we told a few students of the incident and they speculated it as one of the infamous female ghosts who had died before.

Seeker
The Gods are dead As they bled dry, so did the magic which gave them birth. In the new era of technology, its pathetic remnants must hide in the shadows or be locked away. In the ancient era of magic two beings often stood out: Galileo, an immortal scholar obsessed with knowledge and Angelica, the most loyal servant of the greatest among the now dead Gods. But why are they worthy of mention? Because after millennia of isolation, the two emerge in the new world beyond their reckoning. The entire story is told from the third person, however, each chapter will be told from the perspective of only one of the characters. This will be signified by the first letter of their names after the chapter number to avoid confusion. I submitted this fiction as a [participant in the Royal Road Writathon challenge] as well as a participant in National Novel Writing Month. The original challenge had been to finish this entire faction within the month of November reaching the 55.5k word minimum. This goal had been achieved. I do not own the cover picture

OrcFat
I was reincarnated into another world as an orc, but wait, why am I still fat? This story is about a young man named Robert, who in his previous life was by most accounts an average person, with the exception of his terrible luck, coined by him as 'rough day Robert' or 'RDR'. One day he suffers a seemingly non-fatal injury but as his luck would have it he ends up dying regardless. Through this he has a suspicious encounter with an uknown entity that results in what can only be described as a reincarnation to another world. Despite his apprehensiveness he gives the benefit of the doubt to this weird scenario and accepts it, but to his surprise he wakes up in the body of... an orc? Is this just a sick joke or an adventure in disguise? See how Robert overcomes adversity and rewrites his own story with a new life, one hopefully with more luck than the last.

The Plan
An infinite world couldn’t be real, but if it was, well this would happen. Imagine a world that isn’t covered in water, but an endless atmosphere. Plates of land, named “islands”, float and drift almost aimlessly. There is no sun, stars, roof, or floor; just boundless air in every direction. Light is generated from the movement of air flow. Magical and mystical powers keep islands floating and the world full of fresh entropy. Some of these floating islands drift upwards or downwards or any combination of volatile or patterned velocities. Air flow also follows the same characteristics of islands, which generates the light and heat. In a world with no horizon, the different inhabitants struggle. Beings calling them selves deities across the endless space are countless. If you were to fall off an island, you would inevitably hit another island; if you didn’t die from old age first. Many inhabitants don’t know the land further than their own eye sight or town they grew up in. Almost all inhabitants of islands have supernatural abilities, ranging in ability and skill. Magical abilities are kept individually; and mystical powers are borrowed. Islands float because the land is enchanted by either a magical or mystical crystal. Magical islands are known for vertical variance, while mystical islands are known for vertical stability. The islands rotate around focal points, known as 'the center'. There are many 'the center', but no one knows this yet... Warning: Tagged Mature 18+ for Strong Language, Gore, Violence, and sexual scenes. Google Drive (Click here to open new window) WIP/spoilers
