So I was spending the night at my sister's apartment. This particular place was nothing special, and had no history of hauntings before. When I went to sleep that night, I had a very strange dream.

I was walking alone in a dark forest, following some strange tracks. But eventually I heard something following me, so I started running. It went on like this for a while, but the trampling through the brush behind me steadily grew louder until I tripped on a branch and went sprawling. I turned around and went face to face with something out of a nightmare. It took the form of a completely featureless man made out of shadow. I mean no textures on the skin, eyes, nose, mouth, anything.

I then woke up. Now I know you might think this is just a weird dream, but over the years I've seen this thing in the real world as well, always at a distance, but always watching me. I'd see it in places like in a window across the street, at the end of a field or around a corner. I always saw it out of the corner of my eye, but when I turned to look it was gone.
