"So you're telling me if you could have ANY job in the WORLD you would be a fucking DOCTOR??"
"Yoongi, why do you think I take medicine?" Jin trailed.
"I don't know, I thought you liked the color blue or something. Anyways, I'd run a cat cafe. Obviously. Ooh- Space cat cafe!" Yoongi gasped, and then quickly took out a notepad and scribbled down future business ideas.
"I would wanna be a fashion designed!" Hoseok said and then gave a little smirk.
"Make baggy ass clothes with cool ass bags and ugly ass shoes-"
"Sounds like you. I would want to be President." Namjoon said.
"As if you're already not on the way of becoming one." Jungkook scoffed, and then looked down, picking on his nails.
"Future... President of the fucking... world... in a black suit... thick tie... hair swept back-" Jungkook said to himself, cheeks turning redder as he spoke.
"Jeon Jungkook do you have affectionate feelings for Kim Namjoon?" Lavender asked, and Jungkook scoffed.
"No, Lavender! Shut up! Anyways- I would be a gamer. Or- ooh! A-a pornstar." Jungkook said, and then gasped to himself, head lolling back.
"Imagine... your job is having sex with hot people AND you get recorded while doing it! Wow." Jungkook's eyes glimmered.
"Um... Taehyung... Jungkook has a kink for getting recorded while having sex..." Jimin mumbled, and Jungkook grinned at him.
"Say it louder! I've been trying to tell him for ages, he's never come around to it." Jungkook whispered, and Jimin shuddered in disgust.
"Um, anyways. I'd wanna be a vet. I love cute animals." Jimin said, and Lav gasped. "I would want to make flowers!"
"You don't make flowers, Lav. You sell them, or collect them." Yoongi explained.
"You said any job, Min Yoongi. I will make flowers." Lavender said with furrowed brows, and Jimin giggled.
"Taehyung, what would you do?" Jin asked, and the boys- who were sitting on the floor of the control room- turned to look at Taehyung, who was sitting by the control pad, looking out of the big window into the galaxy before him.
The planet stretched of black space away was a gigantic brownish planet with swirls of white and orange going through it. Taehyung was looking around with big eyes, a small giddy smile on his face.
"Aw," Jungkook said, getting up.
"Taehyungie!! You're so cute!" Jungkook said softly. Taehyung looked at him and his cheeks turned a bit blue.
"Sorry- um- I got distracted..." Taehyung said, and Jungkook sat down beside him, looking outside as well.
"It's really pretty," Jungkook whispered, and Taehyung hummed.
"Yeah. I-I don't want to get my hopes up though... what if- what if it's not what I thought it was?" Taehyung asked, and looked at Jungkook. "What if I'm not accepted, and- and what if I never find my mother?"
Jungkook put his hand on Taehyung's. "Either way, you have another family right here," Jungkook whispered, and then looked behind him, and saw the rest of the boys and Lavender all laughing over something, being loud and ecstatic.
Taehyung chuckled, and then looked outside. "I know. I'm really happy I do... but I wish I had a proper real family sometimes. My dad doesn't really care about me." Taehyung said.
"Well, if it makes you feel any better, I had a proper real family- and they sucked. Even my cat hated me." Jungkook mumbled, and Taehyung looked at him sadly, pouting a little.

"Awww baby... come here," Taehyung said, pulling him onto his lap. "I love you quite a lot," Taehyung said, and Jungkook giggled, grabbing Taehyung's shoulders and kissing his forehead.
"I love you quite a lot too, Taehyungie," Jungkook said, and Taehyung smiled, rubbing his lips against his puffy cheek.
"My cute baby-"
"Can y'all like... not do this right now... it's morning o' clock." Jimin said, and Jungkook and Taehyung pulled away and sighed.
"We're probably landing soon anyways. We should probably all get dressed properly." Namjoon said, and all the boys nodded. Taehyung looked at Jungkook. He got up, grabbing his hand and pulled him towards their bedroom.
They walked into the room, and once they were inside, Jungkook gave him an odd look. "You alright?"
Taehyung put his hands on Jungkook's waist, and then leaned forward, brushing his lips against Jungkook's cheeks. Jungkook giggled as Taehyung's lips moved all over his face, and then heard him whisper something into his ear.
Jungkook heard what he said and pushed him away.
"Did you just call me mom?!" Jungkook snapped and then gulped. "That made me uncomfortable!.... I think.... hold up-"
"Sorry! I've been practicing how I'm going to greet my mother for the first time when I meet her. If I meet her. I probably won't. She's probably dead." Taehyung said, and Jungkook frowned.
"Or she's alive. But Jupiter's huge. I won't meet her. But if I do-"
"You're freaking out, Tae! If anything, your mother's probably been wondering how it's going to be when she meets her son for the first time too." Jungkook said, and then reached forward, kissing his forehead. "I know you're scared, anyone would be. But don't get too freaked out, okay?"
"Yeah- I'll try. Thanks." Taehyung said, and Jungkook hummed, kissing his chin.
"By the way- what was that about the mom thing- do you have a mommy kink? That's weird....ly exciting-"
"No. Ew," Jungkook said, and then played with the bottom of Taehyung's shirt.
"You're weird. C'mon let's get changed." Jungkook said quickly and then left.

"Wait..." Yoongi said, standing by the exit as the ship made its way to land onto the planet. "What's going on with you and Jin? I mean, are you guys dating? You're close, but I've never seen you kiss.
Though you do reference having sex together..."
"Huh?" Namjoon asked, and then frowned. "What?"
"You and Jin-"
"Who's that?"
"Namjoon..." Yoongi trailed in annoyance. "Seriously, what are you guys?"
"Yeah," Namjoon said, and Yoongi furrowed his eyebrows.
"Oh hey, Yoongi. Hey Namjoon." Jin said, and Yoongi looked at Jin.
"Jin, are you and Namjoon dating?"
Jin looked at Yoongi for a few seconds. "Who's that?"
"I fucking hate you guys. Hobi- ask them if they're dating!" Yoongi said, and Hoseok walked up to them and looked between Namjoon and Jin.
"Y'all bone?"
"Honestly, the truth is out there somewhere," Namjoon said, and Yoongi groaned in aggravation. "Give us a proper answer!"
Jimin walked up to them along with Lavender. "Jimin! Thank god- you know everything, right? Are Namjoon and Jin dating? Or are they hooking up? Like what's going on-"
"I don't know, are they?" Jimin said, more as a statement rather than a question. He then fist-bumped Jin.
"What the fuck does that mean??" Yoongi asked, and Hoseok sighed. Lavender laughed at what was going on.
"Ship's landing!" Taehyung called out, rushing through the number of people.

He reached the exit doorway, looking outside with a grin. Lavender smiled. "Oh, Taehyung! I am so happy for you!"
Jungkook looked at Lavender, and then at Taehyung. "I'm happier," Jungkook said, and Taehyung looked at Lav, smiling.
"Thank you so much, Lav. Seriously. You're so selfless," Taehyung said, and then grabbed her by her sides and kissed her forehead. Jungkook pursed his lips.
Taehyung began looking outside while Yoongi and Hoseok and Namjoon went to the control room to land the ship properly. Jungkook walked up to Taehyung and rubbed his lips with his fingertips, and then looked at Lavender.
"Are you sure you can go out there? I mean- are you sure your head won't explode or something? That'd be a real bummer." Jungkook said flatly, and Lavender tilted her head in confusion, while Jimin sighed.
"Jungkook... let's be nice," Jimin said, and Lavender still looked a little confused, so Jimin gave her a smile. Jungkook saw Lavender looking at Jungkook with a slight frown.
"Landed! We're here!" Taehyung exclaimed excitedly and then tried opening the door. Yoongi rushed to him.
"Relax, you oversized puppy. We need to ensure it's safe out there first." Yoongi said, and Taehyung groaned.
"I checked this morning! It's fine. Now let's go! Stop being musty." Taehyung snapped, and Yoongi rolled his eyes and then clicked a button which opened the door onto the planet.
Jungkook saw Taehyung rush out and all the boys follow him. But before he could join them, he felt a hand grab his shoulder. He turned and saw Lavender.
"W-why do you dislike me so much?" Lavender asked, and Jungkook stilled. "I understand why you did at first. Kind of. I mean- you were mad at Taehyung for not giving you the kind of affection he used to, and you thought it was my fault. But now I like Jimin, and you're with him. What is the reason for your dislike?"
Jungkook looked to the side. "I don't- I don't dislike you, Lav-"
"It seems like you do," Lavender said, and then gulped. "Sorry for interrupting."
"It's fine..." Jungkook mumbled. "It's just that- you don't meet people who are so overly nice. Usually, people who are this nice are terrible on the inside. I'd know, my brother was like that. Super sweet but an asshole." Jungkook said, and Lavender looked at him.
"You think I am like your brother?" Lavender asked.
Jungkook gulped. "I've always been jealous of my brother. For how much people liked him. For how much my parents preferred him over me. He got everything because everyone thought he was this super innocent super nice boy. He wasn't. He was evil to me." Jungkook said. "There were too many similarities between you and him. Plus, Taehyung seemed to like you so much more. And- and I thought you were evil. I'm sorry." Jungkook said, looking down.
Lavender smiled softly. "It is okay. As long as you realize. I am not mean!! I am a nice girl! And I think you're very sweet and funny and your hair is very bright." Lavender said, and Jungkook blushed.
"Thank you," Jungkook giggled. "I think we can be friends. After all, you're the closest to my age," Jungkook said, and Lavender gasped- and then they both heard a cough.
"Lav, Kook, get down here!" Jin snapped, and both nodded and rushed to exit the ship. They ran down, and when they did, they both gasped.
The sky was filled with swirls of browns and reds and whites, looking like a renaissance painting. The ground had blue grass, and people walked around with silver skin and silver hair, wearing uniforms. Jungkook looked at Taehyung, whose eyes were widened, looking around.
"This place is," Taehyung started softly, and then his eyes twinkled. "This place is beautiful."
Jungkook rushed up to him. "Tae!! Aren't you glad to finally be on your planet!"
Lavender rushed up to him too. "Yay Tae! Let us go find your mother!"
Taehyung chuckled dryly. "Aw, guys, thanks. But I don't think I'm going to find my mother here,"
"Do you know her name?" Jimin asked, and Taehyung hummed. "My father told me her name was River Vorian. She had light cloudy silver skin and long slate grey hair."
The boys looked at Taehyung, who tsked. "I'm getting my hopes up. This is probably going to be like one of those movies where I realize my mother doesn't care about me, and I end up finding my 'real family' within you guys or some horsecrap." Taehyung said.
"Let's ask that kind looking gentleman over there if he is aware of your mother," Lavender suggested.
"As if that one random dude we find next to the random place we land our ship would just happen to know where my long lost mother who left me as a child would be in the biggest planet in this galaxy. Yeah right." Taehyung scoffed.
Jungkook looked at the guy. "Hey- uhhhh- do you know who River Vorian is?"
"Yes of course." The man said, and Taehyung's eyes widened. "Why, would you like to visit her?"
"Seriously?" Taehyung asked, and the man nodded. "Um- y-yeah! How come, who is she?"
"Haha, good joke." The man said, and Taehyung frowned at that.
"No, we seriously don't know-"
"Listen, funny boy, do you want to see her or not?" The man snapped, and Taehyung gulped. "Um- yes please."
"Okay. Follow me." The man said, and the boys looked at each other nervously but began following the random man. He walked them out of the spaceship holding area and into the city. It was suburbian, with tall glass buildings and black roads.
It was rather modern and elegant looking. They followed the man down a sidewalk, looking inside buildings and stores that sold what seemed like high-end couture fashion stuff. Jimin and Lavender kept asking if they could go into all the stores, and Namjoon said no every time.
"Here it is." The man said, and they stopped in the middle of nowhere. Well, not really. Opposite the road was a gigantic palace. "Visit inside will be 130 Silojes." The man said, referring to the currency of the place.
"What the hell- she lives in there? Wait, who is she??" Jungkook asked, and the man sighed, rolling his eyes.
"Shut up. Now, pay me."
"Here," Taehyung said, taking out some notes and putting it in the palm of the man. The man gave them 8 tickets and then walked off. Namjoon looked at Taehyung. "Where did you get money from?"
"It's monopoly money," Taehyung whispered. "Let's run."
They rushed towards the gates of the palace. Taehyung hummed. "I assume she's someone very rich, huh?"
"Must be. Should we ask the guard to let us in?" Jin asked, and Taehyung looked around. He gulped and took a step back.
"I don't know. Maybe we shouldn't. The guy probably scammed us." Taehyung said, and then sucked in a sharp breath.
"Yeah- um- let's just go back. Get some lunch. I-I don't think we should do this-"
"Taehyung, what're you talking about? Haven't you wanted to do this since you were a child? Let's go in there. Don't do this to yourself." Jimin said, and Taehyung looked down.
"I don't know guys- I-I have high hopes in my mind, and they're going to plummet. I just know it." Taehyung whispered. Jimin hit him on the head and told him to shut up.
They quickly realized this house was some kind of museum or something they had to pay to enter. So they took the tickets and gave them to the guard in the entrance, who let them in. The eight of them walked inside, looking around with big eyes. There was a large walkway of blue gardens and fountains leading to the entrance of the palace.
"How do I even know where to meet her? Like, is she just going to be in here somewhere? This palace is huge, how will I-" Taehyung began, and Lavender pointed at a giant board.
The board read Meet and Greet with M River Vorian on the 3rd floor.
"All your lucky stars are lining up, Taehyung," Yoongi said. Jungkook looked at Taehyung, who looked stressed and wrapped their hands together.
"Don't worry babe. Keep a light mind. Let's go inside." Jungkook said, and Taehyung nodded, squeezing Jungkook's hand as a silent thanks.
They walked into the palace and gasped. It was very luxurious and rich, with tall ceilings of the chandelier and marble floors with designs. There were guards everywhere. They looked at the boys and then pointed to the side, a lift.
They walked towards the lift and got inside, and pressed a button indicating the 3rd floor. There was a silence, and then- "Dude who IS your mom?"
"Dude I wish I knew," Taehyung mumbled, and then Yoongi cleared his throat.
"Um, Tae," Yoongi mumbled, and then the lift to the 3rd floor finally dinged and the boys stepped out of the lift. Taehyung looked ahead, and his eyes widened.
There was a huge line of people in front of a giant throne, perched on a higher level. On the throne was a woman.
Taehyung's hands jittered when he saw her.
"It says here," Yoongi said, looking at the pamphlet. "This place is the palace belonging to the royal family of Jupiter."
Her hair was dark grey, almost ashy, and her skin was a pale silver. She wore a velvety royal blue dress, and her eyes were piercing, Taehyung could tell from here. n her head, was a crown. A crown made of diamonds, it seemed.
"River Vorian," Yoongi stated, and all of them looked at Taehyung. "She's the queen of Jupiter."
"Oh." Taehyung's mouth went dry. His pulse fastened through this blue blood. Of course she was.

Starchild
“It’s life’s illusions I recall. I really don’t know life at all.” from the song, Both Sides Now, by Joni Mitchell Starchild is an adventure novel set within an understanding of reality that is rooted in Eastern spiritual traditions. It takes as its starting point experiments in remote viewing that were genuinely undertaken by the American military in the nineteen-nineties under the name of the Stargate Project. It then imagines how a more advanced attempt to weaponise the capabilities of consciousness might have been developed in the present day.The story then explores how Ultimate Reality might respond to such a threat.Deep, elemental forces thus bring together Samantha Martin and Sahadeva Varma, old colleagues from the Stargate Project, to avert the apocalyptic consequences of this military attempt to weaponise consciousness. This fast-paced story spans genres including romance, action, adventure, science fiction and more. Although this story is based on concepts drawn from established spiritual traditions, these have sometimes been extrapolated to the point of very extreme speculation for the needs of an adventure story.Much of the underlying philosophy, however, as explained in the dharma talks given by Samantha Martin, is paraphrased from the guidance of respected spiritual teachers. Scheduling: Starchild is a previously unpublished novel of one hundred thousand words which was serialised in weekly instalments over twenty-five weeks from 15th November 2021 to the 29th April 2022. Each instalment contains five chapters – an average of approximately four thousand words in each instalment.
