《written experiments》For Elise

Peter walked toward his armchair with gentle steps. It was his usual snail's pace with which he moved around his apartment. But, but, Peter would formally protest if he could read over these lines and immediately object that he could honestly afford this pace with his 87 years. Peter was proud of the fact that at his age he was still able to walk independently at all and was not dependent on the help of others. Although that no longer mattered either. He carefully lowered himself onto his chair and immediately leaned over to the side table, where a pen and a lined writing pad lay ready to hand. As he did so, he glanced over to the living room cabinet, where Elise smiled softly at him from her picture frame. Peter smiled back, happy that he was about to meet his wife again. Only a few minutes separated him from embracing her again.

He tore a sheet out of the letter pad and laid it out in landscape format in front of him. But before he could write anything down, he first needed his glasses. His tired gaze then combed the living room. Where had he put them last? This forgetfulness annoyed him now, but had not only something to do with his age, because even in his younger years he often forgot many things. His Elise used to jokingly say: Peter, you would still lose your head if it had not grown on your neck. Yes, that's how his Elise was, always joking. Peter would surprise her today with his visit, but first he needed his glasses and he couldn't find them anywhere. Annoyed, he grabbed his head and lo and behold, there they were. He had been carrying them around on his head all along. Now he began to write something on the sheet in large letters. He took extra care with this, because this sheet was so important. Finished - Peter put the pen down and stood up.

With the sheet and an adhesive strip in his hand, he walked to the apartment door and attached it to the outside so that it could be read by anyone who wanted to enter the apartment. He then ran to the record player and put on Beethoven's for Elise. That was their song. They had always listened to it together in the evenings. Then he ran over to the dining table and lit the ten disposable grills one after the other, which he had gotten yesterday. Peter then sat back in his chair and listened to the music until he fell asleep.

On the outside door was written in capital letters:
