i started putting away the food he bought while he was showering. we had kind of been ignoring each other just giving the other space knowing we needed time to ourselves each day during life

as i finished putting everything away i went out to the back porch and sat on a chair while looking out to the pool and garden that littered the back yard.

the sliding door opened and luke walked out in a button up and nice shorts and walked over to me with a smile on his face.

"why are you all dressed up?" i asked

"go get ready. it's date night" he said holding out his hand for me. i took it and stood up "i love you kay"

i walked back downstairs to find luke on the couch with his phone in hand. he looked up at me as i walked down the last step

i smile painted his face as he put his phone in his pocket and stood up.

"well don't you just look gorgeous" he said making me blush

"thank you handsome" i said putting my hands on his chest as he put his on my cheeks

"of course beautiful. now let me take you out on a little date" he spoke and i nodded happily

he grabbed one of my hands and started walking to the door grabbing car keys on the way out. as we got out the driveway way filled in by a tesla

"where did this come from?" i asked him jokingly

"had it dropped off for the week. thought it would be helpful" luke responded

he opened the door for me and i got in. he went around the other side and got in himself before turning on the car.

we kept eating in silence enjoying the sunset. i played with the ring on my finger enjoying the feeling of it not bare.

"do you ever regret marrying me?" i asked randomly

"i regret not being enough but that's it" i said looking down at my food. i heard him sigh but not say anything.

i knew i wasn't good enough. i sat there picking at my food as we sat fully in silence. tears brimming my eyes. i was broken out of my thoughts by my phone going off
