《Transformed || Zed || ✔️》Chapter 6 - The Winning Touchdown

.:: Zed's POV ::.
I was in the gym getting in my football attire. Excitement was buzzing through my veins - today was the day I'd finally fit in the humans. I was going to prove to them that zombies matter just as much as humans do.
"Okay team, we are definitely going to loose this game so just get out there and loose," coach sighs.
I frowned, talk about an encouraging coach.
I run outside and get into the team huddle. "Okay guys, we have to win this thing! There's no I in team, but there's an I in Zombie-" I start to say. I noticed that they weren't listening and cleared my throat, "Okay, forget I said that, but go team! We can do this!" I put my hand in expecting that they'd do the same, but they just rolled their eyes and left me, and I sighed.
The team hates me already... great.
We all get into position.
Within a minute, the game begins.
Not even 5 minutes passes by before I'm tackled to the ground. Each time I get tackled over and over again, regardless of if I have the ball or not. These guys are portraying zombie hatred for sure.
Soon, the coach calls for a time out, drawing our attention to the chalk board in front of us.
"Okay, I'm only going to explain this once, so PAY ATTENTION! There's nothing behind you so just - GO FORWARD! GO UP! The ball isn't behind you it's infront of you! Move up! Just-" the chalk falls out of his hand- "-just move- just.. just do something!" He sighed and threw his fist in the air unenthusiastically, "Go team."
Everyone started piling out and he stopped me, laughing, "Man, if you didn't get me dreaming away. What happened to that brute strength I saw at the pep rally?" he asked me.

"That? Oh, my Zband malfunctioned-" I started to explain. "Great! Use that!" he exclaimed.
"No, Coach! I can't! I can't use it..." he already walked out and I sighed. Until then, it hit me - I needed Eliza's help.
I ran over to Eliza, "Eliza! I need your help!"
She raised a brow, "Aren't you supposed to be at the game?"
"We're on a break, so I gotta hurry this up. I need you to hack my Zband so I can have back the strength of a corrupted zombie!" I exclaimed.
Her eyes widened and she shut her laptop, "Are you insane, Zed?! Breaking your Zband like that could be an absolute disaster, I am NOT doing this!" she replied, upset.
"So what?! You jailbroke your Zband to play video games!" I groaned. "That's completely different! This is absolutely, ludicrously dangerous!" she frowned at me.
"Please? I need to win. If I win, zombies will be treated as equals!"
She stopped for a moment before sighing, opening up her computer again. "Okay, fine!" she starts messing around with the band.
"Okay, perfect. Just enough corrupted zombie to give you the strength without wanting to actually kill anybody." The info sent from her computer to my Zband, "That's it?"
"Yep. Just, one thing. Always swipe left. NEVER RIGHT. It'll corrupt the system! Always left! Got it?"
I nodded, "Yeah, yeah, I've got it. Thanks so much!" I ran back to the field.
"Zed!"
I turned around, "Yeah?"
"If you smell smoke, stop, drop, and roll," she smirked. I laughed, spinning my helmet around before putting it on.
The game was about to start. I looked at my Zband and swiped left, and I felt the power surge through my veins. "Let's do this."

My voice was deeper and I felt much more confident, not to mention stronger. The whistle blows and off I charge, knowing everyone out of my way until I hit the touchdown point.
I scoffed and threw down the football, "Too easy," I smirked.
"The Mighty Shrimp... won? Wow! A win!" The announcer called over the play field. Everyone is cheering for me. I swipe my hand left again to return me back to normal, when I heard a squeal. I turn around and see (Y/n) running towards me. She tossed her pom poms to the ground and smiles up at me. "You were amazing out there Zed!"
"Thanks," I smiled down at her, blushing.She bit her lip for a moment, then gave me a big, tight hug. I hugged her back, resting my chin on her small head. She was so tiny in my arms, it was adorable.
"(Y/n)!" I heard Bucky yell. I frowned as she stopped hugging me.
"Sorry, I gotta go." She blew me a kiss, "I'll see you later."

Stitches
When Lidiyana awoke, she wasn't alone. Instead, she returned to the world with Gareth - a man who tended to her after a horrific accident left her in a coma. He's strange, but also kind in his own way, helping her regain her memories and teaching her about their former relationship. However, as Lidiyana learns more about the world around her, things may not exactly be as they seem. Stitches is a fantasy web serial focusing on interpersonal drama, surreal horror and adventure. As a forewarning, it should be noted that Stitches is not for all audiences, as it heavily features various horror elements including some gore and body horror alongside minor elements of sexuality, nudity, drinking, etc. I know there are content warnings, but I did want to clarify exactly what's going on here. Stitches should update every Friday, barring exceptional circumstances.
