"They keep coming!"
Ana had to continuously cut through the light tentacles that threatened to suffocate her with her sword. The group has splintered off again, and it made them weak that way. Drax had taken an unconscious Mantis to the extraction point at the surface of Ego's planet. Gamora and Nebula had fallen through the cracks Ego caused as he was in the process of creating another human body. That left Yondu, Rocket, Peter and Ana on the platform.
They were all preoccupied by the light tentacles. Ana let her Sword of Light harness the energy they let off, and sent it right back with every swing.
"I told you, I don't want to do this alone!" Ego bellowed as he walked down the rocky canyon. "You cannot deny the purpose the universe has bestowed upon you!"
Countless light tentacles pierced right through Peter's kneeling body. Yondu was down. Rocket too. Ana was still fighting, her sword an efficient weapon against the spikes. Ego was draining the light from his own son and it powered up the core again.
"Stop it!" Ana cried out.
Before he could lay another hand on Peter, Ana's instincts kicked in and she activated the aero-rig. She tackled Ego, her shoulder colliding into his sternum with a harsh crunch. The force of the attack sent them both crashing into the rocky walls. Ana's eyes flashed with rage and she sent a heavy punch to his jaw, knocking his head further into the wall. She let herself forget she was fighting a Celestial, instead focused on the fact that he needed to be destroyed. Eldritch Bands formed in her hands and she wrapped the mystic weapon around his neck and pulled. His hands tried to grab ahold of her and she dodged them, raising her foot and planting it on his chest, and she pushed. With the pulling at his head and the pushing in his chest, Ego found it difficult to get out of Ana's grip.
"Just..." Ana grunted, strengthening her pull, "Die already!"
"You're gonna have to do better to kill me!" He yelled in her face. Ego's light tentacles blasted up from the ground beneath her feet and they wrapped themselves around her torso and legs, yanking her away from Ego. She was flung into another wall, dropping to her knees with a groan. Her hands held her up from the ground and she spat out the blood in her mouth, making it splatter everywhere. She sat back on her heels before raising her head and sending a heated glare towards Ego.
With inhuman speed, Ego was on her, grabbing her throat and squeezing. Ana was losing oxygen. She clawed at Ego's hands as they gripped her throat tighter with a powerful force, strained cries escaping her lips when he pushed her into the rock. The ground crumbled against her back, making her sink into it.

"I didn't expect the daughter of the Sentinel to be this weak." Ego chuckled darkly, mocking her as he tried to take her life. "Some demigod..."
Ana's vision blurred as tears brimmed her eyes. She let one hand drop from his wrists and reached out for her Sword of Light that was metres away under the debris. It shook underneath the rubble and shined brightly. The familiar pull could be felt between her and her blade. And she held onto it.
Ana looked deep into Ego's eyes, curling her lip in disgust at what was looking back at her. "You won't win. People like you never do." She tried to sound in control, and strong, but since he was crushing her windpipe, it came out croaky and quiet, weak.
Just when she finished speaking, a sound alerted him and he turned his head to face her right side. With a clink, her sword flew into her open hand and she stabbed the blade into his chest, right where she imagined his artificial heart would be. His eyes and mouth opened as he let out a howling cry, light escaping every hole in his body before it all fizzled away like a power surge. Her lungs expanded and she inhaled sharply, rolling onto her side and bringing her hand to her throat.
Ego materialised himself once again though. His body crashed into the ragged rocks away from her and the group, sounds of pain escaping his mouth as he clutched his side where the sword stuck out from. His eyes darted around until they landed on Ana. And they narrowed with wrath. His jaw locked, his spine straightening up before he walked forward in her direction. He removed the sword and held it like it was his own.
"This belonged to him, you know. Your father." Ego liked the way his words were torturing Ana. She could feel all that rage and anger towards Ego build up inside her. It made her want to kill. She gritted her teeth, standing up across from him. Her fists clenched tightly and it made the cuts on her knuckles bleed.
A war cry emitted from her throat and she charged. Arms up at the ready, she grabbed a pale looking Ego and slammed him into the ground. A loud clap sounded from the force and she emptied all the emotions she felt into punching the hell out of his face. Every time she would turn his face into a puddle of chunks, Ego would materialise a new one. He was taunting her like a never ending loop. The ground underneath Ego crumbled from her godly strength.
"Stop!" Ana punched his jaw. "Talking!" Another punch. "About!" The cracks in the ground extended with each slam. "My father!" She screamed out, chest heaving with every breath. The bones in her hands were completely totalled, but she didn't stop.

Ana felt that she had to look over her shoulder, and she did so. One of Ego's light tentacles advanced on her. She left Ego and grabbed her sword, entangling it with the spike and drawing in it's very own energy. Her feet were forced back as it tried to attack her and she held her ground, pushing forward with her weapon. Grunts left her lips when she was forced back by another spike, her back slamming into the wall.
Ego got up off the ground, unfazed by her earlier outburst. He strutted towards her, brushing of his clothes. "I must admit, you do have your daddy's power. Some of it anyway. But even at your age, I expected you would have learned the limits to it. You overextend yourself too much and that has consequences." He said, watching her lose.
A tentacle flicked her sword from her hands and her cries muted when the light tentacles engulfed her. Peter was still on his knees, the light that was phased throughout his body draining everything he had. Everyone was beat by Ego's light spikes, and he tried so hard to move, to get free from Ego's hold.
"It doesn't need to be like this, Peter. Why are you destroying our chance? Stop pretending you aren't what you are. One in billions. Trillions. Even more. What greater meaning can life possibly have to offer?" Ego declared, standing in front of his son.
Yondu managed to peek his head out from the tentacles, and he used that time to address Peter. "I don't use my head to fly the arrows, boy! I use my hear-"
His voice vanished as the tentacles engulfed him. Peter felt it connect. He found everything he needed to fight for, and it allowed his heart to take over. No more fighting with his head, instead he wanted to fight with his heart.
"You shouldn't have killed my mom and squished my Walkman." Peter growled, power surging throughout his entire body.
In a pulse, Peter catapulted forward and took his father, slamming him with any weapon he could create. It caused Ego's power to withdraw and everyone was freed from his tentacles. Ana slumped forward, dropping onto the ground in a bloody coughing fit. She was shaking uncontrollably. She felt weak. Her power high was wearing off and she glanced around, wheezing.
Ana reached for her sword and let it disappear. In a blink of light, it traveled back to it's resting place. Rocket flew to her and helped her up.
"You gotta get to the surface! This place is gonna blow in less that five minutes!"
Ana nodded, standing up. She looked at Rocket and Groot sternly, "You two better be right behind me."
"We will. We just have to grab Yondu." Rocket replied.
Ana nodded and boosted into the air just as Rocket joined the blue alien. She spotted Gamora and Nebula climbing up to the top and picked them up on the way, holding each of their hands. Ana came to a slow when she neared the ship and set the women down inside.
The aero-rig on her back began to spark and Drax swatted it off before it could catch fire. She shot him a thankful smile as he set her down, positioning her against the wall of the ship, opposite the large doorway.
"You did good." Drax nodded.
Rocket flew in and Gamora glanced at him. "Where's Peter?"
Rocket stayed silent as he looked at the timer counting down. Ana grew worried as Gamora started yelling. "Rocket, look at me! Where is he?!"
Groot pointed outside the ship.
"No. I'm not leaving without him." Gamora stood up frantically. She grabbed a weapon from the rack and armed it. But before she could step outside, Rocket electrocuted her, making her fall to the floor unconscious.
"I'm sorry. I can only afford to lose one friend today." Rocket muttered. He looked up at shouted, "Kraglin, go!"
Ana shuffled to her feet. "No, Rocket. Just wait!"
"We have to go!" Rocket argued.
Ana reached the doors as they closed and looked out of the window panel, watching as they lifted off the planet as it imploded. She stood there, waiting for any sign their captain was okay. It felt just like Pietro all over again. She felt her eyes sting and licked her lips, casting her eyes downward.
"No..."
Nebula stood beside Ana, and observed her silently. She then glanced at the two men adrift in space just below them. Yondu had frozen while Peter cried over his loss.
"There." Nebula said simply, encouraging Ana to look where she was pointing. A relived sigh escaped her lips, but her eyes saddened at the sight, and she waved the others forward. Rocket joined her and he dropped his head from seeing Yondu.
"Let's get them back."
