《The ThickGirl and The Badboy》Chapter 58:Determined

I stood outside the stripper house, waiting for Brian's arrival.
I examined the building, memories appearing from my past.
Part of me wishes I had gone looking for her, instead of just running away and going to this place.
I could've lived happily with my mom, away from my dad.
Running away did me no good, in the end, I came back.
Back to a life with my father, and an unfamiliar women with her son.
I said I would stay away from this place, but I knew the owner had the answer to my question.
"I thought you'd be waiting inside?" I hear Brian's voice, snapping me from my thoughts.
I turn towards him, and tried not to laugh as I observed his outfit.
He wore a blue button up shirt that had a print of coyotes drinking margaritas all ove it, kakis, and a baseball cap, trying to disguise himself it seemed.
"Brian take off those sunglasses." I demanded. "And why are you wearing that?"
"I told you. I can't risk being seen by someone, and word getting to my parents. You know how strict my parents are."
That was true, Brian's parents were immigrants from Central America who became very important lawyers, and had a good image to uphold.
They built a future for Brian, and their future generations.
Maybe asking him to come with me wasn't such a good idea.
"Okay, lets just get in there." I say.
"No wait, where's my money?" He sticks out his hand waiting.
"Brian we haven't even gone inside yet." I complain.
"You said we could meet at the place, not inside."
"What?" I tried to remember exactly what I said, but instead just gave in and paid him. "So you're not even gonna go inside with me then?"
"You said you had business to take care of in there, whatever that means. I'll wait for you at Patrick's Diner, we can talk there." He smiles at me.
I rolled my eyes, couldn't say no to that smile of his. "Fine. I can't force you to go in there. I'll meet you there in a bit."
"Good luck man."
We shook hands, and he left.
Leaving me alone feeling more nervous than ever.
I closed my eyes, and took a deep breath then opened the door.
I was greeted by the smell of alcohol and heavy perfume.
It hadn't changed much since the last time I've been here.
I walked over to the bar, hoping to see the same bartender as before.
"Long time no see Miss.Georgia."
She turned around and gave me the biggest smile. "Bryson!" She gripped me in a hug, then pulled away to examine me. "Oh my gosh you grew up so handsome honey, look at you!"
"Thank you." I smiled back at her. She was always like a mother figure to me while I was here, always taking care of me, and advising me to go back to my dad because a strip club wasn't the right place a little boy should be.

"But what brings you here? I'm sure you didn't just come to see me. I've never seen you around here anymore."
"And why wouldn't I? You were the closest mother figure I had."
"Oh honey. You know, I heard what happened to your mom. I am so sorry you had to find that out, after wanting to search for her for so long."
I didn't say anything.
I didn't think others would find out.
But if she did, it must've meant something.
"Is Simmey still here?" I asked her.
She stared at me, studying my expression.
"What do you want to know from him?"
"I know my mom used to work here. I know that's how my parents met. I know that he probably knows something."
"Bryson I don't think it's a good idea to be asking around. Especially to ask him, you shouldn't be involved, let the police handle it."
"The police won't do shit if my father was involved!" I yelled what I've been thinking all along.
At first it seemed ridiculous, why would my father kill her ?
Unless there was a reason, which is why I had to know.
Georgia gasped, "Bryson ! Why on earth would you think that of your own father?"
"My father is not a nice man. I have my reasons Georgia."
"Bryson I really don't think it's a good idea to butt in honey. You're just a kid."
"I'll just go find him myself." I muttered as I stormed off.
I don't understand why she couldn't just give me an answer instead of telling me to leave things alone.
She knew my father, there's no way he was a nice man before.
Bull crap. He's always been a piece of shit.
I tried finding my way to the office, everything still looked the same with a few differences here and there.
I finally found the door to the office, when someone grabbed my shoulder.
"You're not supposed to be here buddy." The man , employee here I assume, turns me around, and gives me a glare.
"I want to see Mr.Simney." I ordered.
He laughs. "Like that'll happen, c'mon let me escort you out."
I shoved him off, and bursted through the office door.
I see him sitting in his chair talking to some clients I assume.
They turn to look at me confused, then Simney immediately recognizes me.
"What is the this?" One of the clients asked.
"Uh, Im sorry for the interruption Mr.Simney, this punk has been causing trouble back here. I'll take care of him." The employee explains.
"No no." Mr. Simney protests still looking at me. "Let him wait in the VIP area while I wrap things here. I wish to speak to him."
"I'm sure there's no need sir, he's just a kid , I'll take care of it."

"I said take him to the VIP Marcos. Don't make me tell you again."
"Yes sir."
Marcos takes me to the VIP room, annoyed with me.
"I better not get fired because of you." He grumbles, and shoves me to the room.
I sat in one of the leather seats, and nervously looked around.
My heart was beating so fast.
I was honestly scared to find out the truth. But I wanted answers. I didn't want to wait for the police, and my dad to cover it up.
Before I had any second thoughts to just leave, the door opened and in came two pretty girls in white lingerie and heels.
They sat around me giggling, then the door opened again, but this time Mr.Simney walked in.
He smiled at me, while I just frowned.
"Get these girls out of here." I tell him.
"Oh come on! They're part of the experience here!" He exclaims, while pouring a drink.
"I came to talk to you about my mom, I don't think it's appropriate for them to be in here."
Just like that, his expression darkens.
"Alright ladies, go entertain some of our other VIP's." He opens the door for them, and nothing was said until the door closed.
He sat down, and took a sip of his drink. "So, what do you want to know ?"
In my head I had it all planned out, I rehearsed what I was gonna say to ease into the subject, but I wanted to get an answer already.
I told him straight up, " I need to know if my father is capable of murder. You knew him, you've worked with him. I want to know if he killed my mom."
He choked on his drink, then replied "Bryson what kind of questions are you asking? I did knew your father, but I haven't talked to him in years since he got a new wife."
"I know he had something to do with it, when she disappeared he didn't seemed fazed behind closed doors. He has a new wife? I know he's my dad, but my mom is important too. I want justice for her, even if it means taking my own dad down."
I meant it. If my dad had anything to do with her disappearance, I'd risk it all just so he can get the karma he deserves.
Me.Simney focuses on his glass, examining it as if there was something wrong with it.
I waited for his response.
I wasn't leaving without an answer.
"You're father is a very influential man. Even if he was behind it, how do you plan on taking him down? You're just a kid." He chuckled.
My blood boiled, I tried so hard not to throw a punch at him.
"I am, but I'm not stupid. Something tells me you're trying to cover for my father."
"No, no, no. Don't try putting the blame on me Bryson. It's true I know a thing or two, however I don't know exactly what happened to your mother. All I know are rumors, whether they're true or not, no one dares to find out."
"Then tell me. Whatever you know, I want to know."
Mr.Symney took another sip of his drink, and sat there for a minute. Contemplating wether to tell me or not.
"Bryson, does your father know you're here? Does he know you're looking for answers? Because if the rumors are true, what makes you think he won't go after you?"
I felt even more anxious than before, but I knew what my answer was.
"I'm his one and only son left. He's disowned my stepbrother. I'm the only one he has left to leave the company to, and carry the family name. Besides, I'd rather die and know the answer, than not know at all."
This made Mr.Symney laugh, "You're brave Bryson. Let me pour you a drink, you're going to need it."
He starts pouring me a drink then hands it to me, I took a sip before it can fall into my lap.
My hands felt shaky. I wanted to know already.
"I don't know where the rumor came from, just started hearing things. It started with your mom wanting to leave your dad, with you. Of course, there's nothing your dad doesn't know. Once he heard about her plan, he got angry and sent her away. Where? I don't know. Somewhere to sit her out, and let her regain her composure. He was gonna take her back to become a family again. But your mom didn't want to. She wanted to take you, and leave him out of the picture. I heard she escaped, and was going to get the police involved to get rid of him."
My stomach was sinking, each time he spoke.
It was all making sense.
"He got rid of her, before she could run her mouth. I don't know the details, I don't dare to ask. But rumors say it was your daddy indeed, who did it."
I picked up the glass off the table, and threw it at the wall.
"Bryson calm down." Mr.Symney tried to hold onto my shoulder, but I shoved him off then fell to the floor.
I wanted to sink further into the floor until I was nothing.
