《The ThickGirl and The Badboy》Chapter 42:Halloween Surprise

Dressing up was never my style.

I loved Halloween as a kid then eventually grew out of it, but yet here I was in a Halloween party dressed as a cheesy, yet sexy, vampire.

The shit you do to have an amazing time, and forget about all your problems.

I was focused on my goals: baseball champ, still deciding whether or not I was gonna run my dad's business...but I couldn't shake her off.

Sometimes I catch myself staring at her, just a peek, but it feels like I'm staring too long, and I'm not supposed to because I'm the one who needs to be stared at. Not the other way around.

"So who do you think is gonna be in charge after you graduate?" Caleb asked sipping from his red wine.

"Probably that wimpy sophomore, he almost made varsity last year."

Caleb choked on his drink, "I'm sorry what? Ray? He'll be a junior next year not a senior, he can't be captain."

"Who's to say they have to be a senior? Dudes got mad skills."

"Not as good as mine though, underclassmen shouldn't get the privilege to lead a team, what experience do they have?"

I shrugged and chugged some of my red juice, until I spotted someone out of the corner of my eye.

It was her, dancing along the music with her annoying friend.

My eyes stayed glued to her. I noticed she was also dressed as a vampire...Is this a sign?

A sign we were meant to be, despite it all?

I shook that thought off and chugged some more beverage.

I shouldn't be the one to fix things, I shouldn't be the one to think of her, she should be thinking of me, and her apology.

Even after you embarrassed her?

She deserved it.

Maybe.

"You want to dance with them? I hear they're transfer students from London." Caleb says, his hand on my shoulder.

"Huh?"

"Those girls you were looking at, the sexy school girls over there, Becka and Linda."

"Oh." That wasn't who I was looking at but alright. "Nah, maybe later."

"Suit yourself my man."

Minutes later, I was dancing with a pirate and a dead bride , until Caleb interrupted asking for my help.

"My man, can you do me a favor and help bring out barrels of wine?"

"Barrels of wine?"

"C'mon." He beckons me over and I follow.

We were inside, and as he questions me about football I hear voices near the kitchen but once we walked by there, there was no one.

"They're in the basement so watch your step." He says going down the stairs.

I groaned, "Do you need a helping hand bringing it up?"

"Nah, I need your sexy vampire muscles to carry the second one."

I chuckled, "Well since you called me sexy, I'll oblige."

Once I was in the top step with the weight in my arms I ask, "Did you want it outside?"

"Yeah, by the snack table!" He requests.

Okay.

I make my way to the exit until I accidentally slam into someone.

Fuck.

"Ow!" A female's voice yells.

Great, gotta work my charm on her so she won't be upset.

Once I put down the barrel and tried to aid the person I hit, I see the one person I didn't want to encounter tonight. ThunderThighs.

Her hazel eyes widened once she saw me.

We stood there for a moment starring into each other until I realized what I did.

"Uh, I'm sorry. I didn't mean to, I wasn't looking." I start apologizing.

She gets up and mutters it's ok, then leaves with Crystal.

Fuck.

What did I just do.

"Hey !" Caleb comes in from behind me chuckling, "Did you hit someone?"

"Unfortunately."

He laughed some more then headed outside, as did I, feeling a bit unnerved.

"You should've worked your charm on her, she would've forgiven you instantly, and given you a blow job tonight." Caleb mentioned, still chuckling.

"Right." I mutter, searching for her again seeing if she was alright.

But she was now laughing, with some guy.

He must've been from another school because no guys in our school talked to her without getting handy.

It irritated me watching her smile to some other douche who wasn't me.

So she's just gonna forget about me like that?

I stopped starring and sipped some wine this time, thinking of all my failures in life.

I was so focused on my negative thoughts that I didn't even notice one of the school girls walk towards me until she greeted me in her, hot, British accent.

"Hello, I'm Becka."

"Bryson."

I give her a charming smile which she seemed to like because she then asks, "Vampire is it? Why don't we go to a private room, and you can suck on me all you want." She whispers in my ear.

Tempting.

"Let's go." I say grabbing her hand and leading her inside.

"Well that was a better snog than what I've had with the males in London." She says fixing her blouse.

"Glad I gave you the pleasure."

She giggles.

"You really are a charming one. I don't suppose you have a girl, do you?"

"No." I quickly respond pulling up my pants.

"Perfect. No girl, no drama. I'll see you at school bloodsucker." She kisses me once more then strides off.

Oh boy was she good.

Wait till I tell the boys about her.

I walked towards the doorway that lead outside, and looked for the boys, only to fix my gaze towards Koleen.

She was sitting alone in a chair by the fence, her cup in one hand, starring off into her friend's direction where she was dancing with the dude from before.

So the dudes not into Leen, but is into her friend Crystal instead. Note to self.

I walked towards her, unsure of what to say.

Hell, I don't even know why I'm the one who's doing the talking first.

Before I could change my mind I was already next to her.

"Hey." I say leaning against the fence.

She turned. Confusion then revelation crossed her face.

"Hi." She says in a small voice, her eyes only starring into mine for a brief second.

"Did I hurt you? Do you have any bruises from me?"

The fact that I hit her with a fucking barrel was the only thing I could come up with to say.

"I'm fine." She takes a sip of her drink then gets up ready to leave.

Resentment dominated my emotions.

She had the nerve to walk away from me when I was the first to make a move?

"Where are you going?" I followed her to the beverage table then accidentally knocked her drink onto her dress. "Shit. I'm sorry."

She cursed then ran off again, and again, my legs followed her.

"Just leave me alone!" She yells once she noticed me behind her.

"Let me help you." I offer, getting into the restroom with her before she closed the door on me.

"I don't need your help Anderson." She grabs a wad of paper towels, and tries to wipe the stain away.

"That won't work." I told her, grabbing the towels away from her hands.

She grunts frustrated. "I don't need your help! Get out!"

I raise my hands in surrender. "I was just trying to help you."

And I don't know why either.

She laughs bitterly. "You were trying to help me ? Please! The last time I tried confronting you, you humiliated me in front of the whole school! And now suddenly you're trying to be a helping hand? You're bullshit."

Her words stung because I knew it was true, I was an asshole to her that night, but the fact that she was putting the blame on me only made my blood boil, she was a fucking hypocrite claiming 'the past is in the past for a reason.'

It hurt when silence was her only answer that night at the restaurant, because I knew, I knew damn well that she didn't accept me. That she didn't want a messed up piece of shit in her life.

"I was fucking hurt Koleen!" I argued, my hands curled into right fists. "I wanted you in my life, I wanted you to accept me into yours, but you never gave me a fucking answer, and that shit hurt. You were a disappointment." I spit out.

Her hand wiped away the tears that started tumbling down, and in a shaky voice she responds. "Well I'm sorry!" She bursts out. "Okay? I'm sorry! " She takes a deep breath. "You didn't give me enough time to process it all, but that night when I stepped into your house," She laughed alittle, "Looking like a freaking mess-"

My anger subsided once I heard the apology leave her mouth. I didn't expect it.

"I thought you looked pretty hot." I commented truthfully, she stared at me for a moment then cracked a small smile.

"That night, I made up my mind, and I wanted to accept you back." She explains then.

The sudden relief and happiness filled my chest, I grabbed hold of her hands and apologized. "I'm so sorry for embarrassing you. I regret it, I do. All the anger and despair I had in me lashed out, and I'm sorry."

"I get it. I was a hypocrite, and I'm sorry for making you feel like shit. I deserved it." She looks down at our joined hands then slowly pulls them away, but I grab hold of them again.

"I like you." I blurt out randomly. "I don't know if it was obvious before, but I like you Thunderthighs."

I wanted to kiss her so bad, but from my previous action, I didn't want to give her a disease.

Being a player comes with responsibility, always gotta take care of your health, and use protection.
