The soft sounds of our breaths were heard over the awkward silence that crashed through my house.
Right as he was leaning closer, I moved away from him.
After a a few minutes of putting it together, I gave him his plate once it was done.
"Here, eat up. And you better like it." I ordered him. "Oh and after your meal, you have to go."
Grabbing a fork out of the drawer and stabbing the chicken he scoffed, "Why?"
"Because I said so." I ordered.
"Fine, you're lucky I have better things to do." He said with his mouth full.
"Like what?" I ask.
Smirking, he replies " Wouldn't you like to know."
I rolled my eyes. "Whatever."
We ate in silence.
It felt a-little weird having him over.
"So how is it?" I asked.
"Not bad." He answers.
I nodded my head and finished eating, then went over to bring my dish to the sink.
"I'll get that." He said, getting ahold of both our dishes and scrubbing them.
I stare in amazement.
He did not just do that.
"I know you're looking at me, and don't be surprised I'm only doing it so I won't have to say thank you."
"Wow, make a small meal for a guy, and a girl cant even get a simple thank you for it." I replied sarcastically.
Once he was finished, he awkwardly pat me on the back and said, "Gotta go."
"Okay..."
He breezed out the kitchen and exited out the door.
The scary silence of my house greeted me once again.
He was one odd dude.

" Nobody wants you here pig."Maria yelled in Spanish, pushing me to the floor, her little friends laughing.
"But this is a park, everybody can play here." I replied to them grabbing my pink little chubby cheeks in fear that they'll punch me again.

Maria got closer, placing one of her pink Twinkle Toe's shoes on top of my little chubby leg.
"Ow!" I gasped in pain.
She only pressed harder,"Yeah, but we don't accept pigs in our castle of princesses. So leave if you dont want us to bathe you in mud again." She hissed.
Tears pooled up in my eyes, as I tried to pull my heavy body up.
"Its Okay, I'm gonna leave now Maria." My voice squeked in fear.
Once she took her foot off my leg, I quickly ran.
"Aw, look at how the pig runs." One of Maria's friend replied.
Everyone laughed as I kept running, suddenly feeling dirt thrown at me.
"There goes the mud pig, so you can bathe in it." Maria shouted, more dirt thrown at me and laughter dancing along.
Finding shelter in the janitors tool house, I hugged my knees to my chest and finally let the tears pool out like a waterfall.
(**Back to present.**)
"Koleen!" Crystal shook my shoulders, my head throbbing from the headache that took over me.
"Hm? W-what, whats wrong, what did you want?" I asked her trying to regain my full attention, remembering we went to the mall for jeans.
"Leen, you zoned out mid-sentence when that girl passed by. Do you know her?" She asked turning to the girl.
I looked back again, and sure enough the Snake herself was present in flesh at Forever 21.
"Yeah..I'm pretty sure. I think I used to have her in kindergarten." My eyes kept glaring at her, wanting to shoot her dead.
I hated that girl.
She crushed my self esteem.
She was the reason why I hated myself through out my whole life to this day.
Maria The Snake, was what I named her.

I walked towards her still thin figure, her form would sure as hell fit into those skinny jeans she was holding.
"Maria? Is that you?" I asked innocently, but knowing what the answer would be.
Maria turned, her features shockingly stunning; with her striking blue eyes, and her chocolate brown hair she recognized me, "Hey! Koleen right?" She asked.
I forcefully smiled and said, "Yes. We were in Kinder together."
"Ay, Sí! Oh the memories! " She exclaimed looking me over, "Oh, and I also see you haven't shed off any fat yet either."
Her comment was like a slap to the face, some part of me thought at least maybe she'd change.
"Mhmm..." I manadged to get out.
"I'll see you around. It was nice seeing you Leeny." Maria reported, touching my shoulder and pushing me gently.
I immediately went to Crystal, yanking her by the shoulders and yelled, "Crystal it was her! She had the freaking guts to still call me fat, what the hell!"
She looked at me with wide eyes, trying to process everything I said.
"What?"she asked.
"I'm so angry right now. And you know how I get when I'm angry. Let's go to the gym." I warned her. She nodded her head, and put everything back on the rack as I already made my way to the exit.
"So what exactly happend? "She asked as we buckled our seat belt in.
"That bitch is still skinny, can you believe that? After everything she did to me that bitch is still blessed with a good skinny body. And she got fucking hot, she has that sexy Spanish accent all guys fall for when she speaks english and-"
"Leeny! Calm down, that's not what I asked. I asked what happend, not how she looks like."
I puffed out a frustrated sigh and explained.
"Wow, what a bitch. After everything she put you through."
I threw my hands up in the air and exclaimed, "That's what I said!"
"Are you sure taking your anger out in the gym is gonna solve anything though? "
"Crystal please. Don't tell me now that it's a bad idea."
Once we parked, I quickly ran inside opening my locker and grabbing the extra clothes I had for emergencies like these.
I rolled out, and did my stretching then starting with cable kickpacks.
'That stupid bitch.'
'She thinks she's soo pretty.'
'Pretty my ass.'
I kicked back forcefully, completing twenty reps with ten pounds.
Then I moved on to my next set, deadlift.
I did more reps with less weight, to keep going but I was still angry.
I decided to do squats with heavy weight.
Thankful for my flat shoes, I reached for the bar and weighed it in my shoulders.
I could hear the little muffled voice in the back of my head saying that I was tired, I couldn't do anymore, but the beast inside me urged me to push on, and so I did.
I had trouble getting up, but I did it.
And so I repped with them, not caring how tired I was gonna be the next day.
On my fourth set, I couldn't get back up.
Sweat dripped down my face and body like tears, my head telling me to push on but my body didn't want to. It wanted a break.
And so it did.
Right as I was almost standing, my legs gave up, and the whole bar with weights came crashing down.

Toothpick
“Hello! My humble audience! I, the Bard of the North, am going to tell you a tale. Nothing new, nothing old. A story of a hero, some may say, others a poor boy who was hated by the world.” The storyteller paused as he waited, right timing was everything when telling a story. Pacing… Too slow and the audience became bored then left without tossing even the smallest of coins. If he spoke too fast and rushed the story. It would leave the audience confused and having no reason to be impressed. So like any good storyteller, the Bard has to do a balancing act of sorts. Not too slow, not too fast. Just perfectly in the middle. “In a shattered country in the south, a novice princeling has the ambition to mend a torn tapestry that is his birthplace. Struggling to fend off those who would usurp the throne in an unending civil war spanning centuries. A mercenary that left only death in his wake, unable to stave off the monotony and peace of life. He looks back at the path laden with bodies, wondering if it was all worth it. Wandering souls summoned by a madman, travel away from a wasteland in a foreign land, the first alone, the others as companions. A deity, ancient in her years, waiting to be freed from a duty she no longer enjoys. For all these people and their stories, none are the hero of this tale. No, the hero is not grand, not wise, not ready.. he was punished for nothing of his doing, who was an outcast that was unloved by many, including his father.” This was always the big reveal novices use to jump off into their story. He did not start here, instead, like any good fishermen, he set the bait and waited until the fish bit before pulling. As he saw the audience's eyes focus, he then started the backstory. The harness, that stopped the listeners from having metaphorical whiplash. The foreshadowing. “But that is not where the story starts. No, not even the hero's birth. Where the story begins, is the boredom of the deity, a deity many know of. She who hunts for the impossible, the guide for those who have lost the path, the Huntress of Mallon--” A small pause, a short breath. “--All old names for a single powerful being that has roamed the grounds of this continent longer than any line of kings or queens, lords or ladies. A being of worship for many an individual…” One last breath. And he began singing the first verse.
