"Meredith, Derek. Shall we go to your room?" Arizona suggested
Derek nodded and they said goodbye to the newborn daughter and took off to Meredith's hospital room
Derek gently placed her in the bed and sat next to her while Arizona took a seat on the edge of the bed.
"Arizona, spill it please" Meredith said unpatianced
"We don't know how bad it is but she's having a lot of trouble with breathing on her own. Her heart is stabilizing.. but her lungs have a hard time"
Meredith gasped. Derek held her close
"Der.. did.. did you know?"
"I've seen her stats.. but.. no"
"Arizona.. I.. what now?" Meredith asked, tears streaming down her face
"We'll definitely monitor her close and we'll give her the best care we can"
"I.. my baby" Meredith whispered while staring at the wall
The room was silent. No one really knew what to say
"Dokter Robbins?!" A nurse asked as she came in
"Doctor Shepherd, we're going in a lockdown" Meredith heard the voice of Reed who was shot in front of her
Meredith's breathing got unregular, Derek noticed she was showing the beginnings of a panic attack
"Mer, Bel is gonna be fine"
"We.. we need to get out of here! He's gonna come" She started yelling while hiding in Derek's embrace
"Mer, we're fine. No one's gonna come for us" Derek whispered while holding her closer
"I'm gonna give her something to calm down" Arizona said before she left the room and returned after a few minutes with some kind of sedative.
"No! Don't touch me" Meredith screamed "No not my baby, not my husband, please" She kept begging
Arizona gave Meredith the sedative before she fell in a deep sleep.
"Derek.. I think once she's transferred she'll need to talk to someone"

"I.. Addi told me she saw Reed and Percy get killed"
"Poor girl.." Arizona said while tearing up.
"Can we transfer her now? While she's asleep?" Derek asked
Arizona nodded and went off to find Bailey, Webber and Addison to help with the transfering.
...
"Derek, you'll stay with Mer? I'll stay with Bella. Don't worry about her, Mark will come too" Addison said to Derek
Meredith hadn't woken up yet and the sedative should be strong enough to keep her asleep as long as she's in the ambulance.
They finally arrived in the ambulance bay of Seattle Grace. The doctors carefully got Meredith out of the first ambulance, immediately followed by Bella in her incubator.
They wheeled the two of them into the hospital as Meredith woke up but unaware of what's happening around her. Derek held her hand and his gaze was focussed on their baby. The two of them should be fine. They are now in the best hospital, surrounded by the best doctors. They will be fine.
They wheeled Bella in the elevator "I'll come and take shifts for Mer once Bella is settled and you can go see her" Mark suggested
...
Now, they were all settled and Derek already talked to Webber to have a consultation with dr. Wyatt for Meredith.
When Meredith was aware of her surroundings, Mark was with Meredith
"Hey" He whispered
"Hi" She whispered back, sounding confused
"Mom and dad will be here soon" Mark told her
Meredith nodded as she heard knocking on the door. She almost jumped out of the bed
"Hey, Meredith, dear" Carolyn said as she walked in
"Meredith, are you okay?" Christopher asked
Meredith quickly nodded
Mark's phone went off and he quickly walked into the hallway
Carolyn and Christopher took off to see their newest grandchild while dr Wyatt entered the room

"Hey, Derek!" Christopher called out once they arrived at the NICU and Derek just walked out of the sterile room
"Hey, mom, dad"
"Derek, dear. Take us inside" Carolyn said
"I'm sorry mom, but you can't. She's too small and only me and Meredith are allowed to visit for a short time. She has some trouble.. and.. we need to be careful with infections" Derek said as he gave them a sad smile before pointing at his daughter's incubator
"That one?" Christopher asked
"Yes.." Derek said proud
"Oh god" Carolyn gasped "She's so small"
"She's strong.. She'll get through this" Derek said confident
"You said some issues.." Christopher pointed out while staring at his grandchild
"Her heart and lungs aren't developed at all. Her heart is doing good but she's on a vent that's breathing for her." Derek explained
"Oh.. Derek" Carolyn said as a few tears escaped her eyes
"How's Meredith doing?" Christopher asked
"She's okay-ish.. She had a PTSD attack this morning but physycally she's recovering. She's had a placental abrubtion after all.. what happened.."
"Derek.. What happened?"
"She.. The shooter was after a few doctors.. including me" He explained when both his parents gasped "She saw 2 collegues get killed in front of her. When another doctor passed their way she came to warn me.. That's when she bumped into Mark and Addi. She got stabbing in her stomach.. that's when i saw them.. we hurried her out of the hospital into another ambulance to bring her to the other hospital where Addison saved their lives" Derek explained them
"Derek.." Carolyn said before pulling him into a hug
"She saw 2 people get shot in front of her?" Christopher asked as he started leaning against a wall while he got his hand through his hair
"Yes.. She was under shot to help him find me and.. yeah"
"Poor Meredith" Carolyn whispered
"Do you want to stay here a little longer? I want to check on Mer. I'll send Mark down here"
They nodded and Derek took off to Meredith's room. He saw dr Wyatt leaving her room
"Hi, Mer"
"How's Bella?" She asked immediately
"Mom and Dad are with her. Where's Mark?"
"He left before my appointment with dr Wyatt. He texted me 5 min ago that he was gonna check on Bella
"Can we go see her?" Meredith asked smiling widely
Derek nodded and helped her into the wheelchair that was standing in the room

The Light in Death
Set in a modern city where Jesse Gil narrates his experience running a business capitalizing on his ability to heal any affliction — even death. He's forced to take on a student, Shawn Ellison, a spoiled college dropout who awakens abilities of his own, to prevent him from accidentally killing himself. As a result, Jesse must become more than just a healer. He'll need to master his power over energy: the fuel for life, the soul, and magic. I'm uploading the initial draft of each chapter so people can follow along with the story as I complete the manuscript. I'm hoping to gather interest, and potentially attract an editor. After going back to revise and edit; I will self-publish it.
