"Mer? Are you ready for our appointment at OB?" Derek asked while he met Meredith at the OB floor

"We're finally gonna find out the gender!" Meredith smiled widely

"I'm happy Addi wants to perform the ultrasound"

"Of course, Derek! She's already so exited about being godmother. After our shift we'll need to go tell your parents"

"They would be at the house before we're done. Should we ask Addi and Mark to join us?"

"Sounds like a great idea, since we moved to the dream house we weren't able to see them much except here at the hospital"

Derek agreed and the happy couple walked towards the exam room where Addison was waiting for them

"Hey, guys!" Addison said with a very cheerful voice

"Hi, Addi" Meredith smiled back and she and Derek entered the room

"Mer, can you undress your lower body? I'll prepare the ultrasound machine. So, did you have a lot of cravings the past week?"

"Oh god.. She wanted meatballs yesterday and this morning she wanted popcorn dipped in chocolate.. and French toast with strawberry jam!" Derek told as he made a weird facial expression

"Well those don't sound too bad, I've heard worse" Addi laughed

"I agree with Addi" Meredith giggled

"Of course" Derek rolled his eyes before he started laughing

"How are you and Mark doing?" Meredith asked

"Well, the apartment is way easier to clean than the house we all lived in but we're doing great. We actually started talking about buying our own place too" Addison explained

"Mark's not building you a house right?" Derek frowned

"Oh lord, no! We would buy a house and let it renovate if we want to change something" Addison laughed

"He's good with fixing boobs but I wouldn't trust him with cement and stones" Derek jokes

"Okay guys, are you ready to see your baby?" Addison said with a smile

They both nodded and started staring at the screen

"Everything looks perfect, guys. See it yourself" Addison said as she turned the monitor to Meredith and Derek

"10 toes.. 10 fingers" Derek said

"Addi? It's..?" Meredith said as she started smiling before Derek started kissing her after both of them discovered the gender

"It's a girl. Congrats, guys! You're having a baby girl" Addison said almost tearing up herself

"Thank you, Addi" Meredith said

After a few minutes of checking the baby there was a kick on the door before the door opened and revealed Mark

"Hey, guys! And? How's the baby?" He asked

"It's a girl, Mark! We're getting a baby girl" Derek said smiling

"Congratulations, guys! Now show me my niece!" He said as he walked closer to Addison to watch the monitor himself.

...

"Mom and dad are already here?" Meredith asked as she and Derek drove onto their porch.

"Seems like it" Derek said as he parked their car. Addison and Mark following with their own car, parking next to Meredith's SUV.

"Mom? Dad?" Derek said as they got out of their car

"Hey, guys! Let's go in! We wanna hear how it went" Carolyn said

"I need to see pictures of my grandchild" Christoper said while taking Meredith's bag

"Dad, I can carry my own bag" She giggled

"I didn't raise that sun of my well, he should carry the bag"

"You raised him perfectly, dad! He's the best husband and soon to be daddy there is!"

They all entered the house and sat down on the couch.

"So? How did it go?" Christopher asked

"We're expecting a baby girl" Derek said as he rubbed Meredith's belly. Anyone who knew she was pregnant could notice that she was showing a little

"Oh, we're so happy for both of you" Carolyn said before hugging Meredith and then moving over to Derek. Michael did the same "Guys, you're gonna be great parents, we're proud of you."

Once they all hugged, Carolyn, Derek and Addison moved over to the kitchen to prepare dinner, meanwhile Christopher, Mark and Meredith kept talking in the livingroom

"Try to enjoy this pregnancy Mer, try to not worry too much" Christopher said with a smile
