Meredith, Mark and Derek became best friends, especially Derek and Meredith, they even started having a relationship that has been lasting for 2 years. Meredith was much happier, she didn't have dark 

One day he got concerned as she didn't reply. He was scared she was angry so he decided to walk towards her house. He rang the bell and no one opened. He looked trough the window and rang the bell again. After several minutes Meredith came to open the door, her eyes red and puffy and a very obvious limp on her left leg.

"Derek?" She whispered before closing the door behind her

"Mer? Are you okay?" He said before pulling her into a hug

Meredith started sobbing and shook her head no

"Mer, do you want to come with me to my house?" He asked her

She nodded but didn't move to grab her coat

"Mer, I'm gonna grab your coat, okay?" 

She nodded again so Derek went inside, grabbed her coat and gave it to her. He helped her and put his arm around her waist as they walked to Derek's house

When they arrived, Derek opened the door and walked in with a still frozen Meredith who was leaning on him. It was obvious she was in a lot of pain. His mother walked into the room and noticed something was off

"Mom, we're gonna go upstairs to my room" Derek whispered

"Okay dear" She whispered back while giving him a sad smile "I'll bring you something to drink"

"Thank you" they both said

"Mer.. What happened? Are you okay?" Derek asked

"My.. my dad.. and.. oh.. I.." 

"Mer.. shh calm down. Do you want to lay down first?"

She nodded again and lay down on Derek's bed. Derek spooned her in a try to give her a safe feeling. He whispered "I love you Mer, you're safe here. You can talk to me whenever you're ready" He placed his hand on her left hip and she winced in pain

"Mer? Can I take a look at it?"

She nodded before giving a weak attempt to sit up and slide of her pants to show him her bad bruises. Derek gasped by the sight of Meredith with black and purple bruises all over her hip and left leg. She pulled up her shirt and there was even more bruising on her ribs

"Who did this?"

"My.. my dad" 

"Where was your mom?"

"I.. she.. she just told him to stop.. but he.. he didn't.. so she said she would call the police if he didn't stop.. and when he did.. she just.. she left.. she left me all by myself.. again! Her sobs turning into small screams

"Did you eat something today?"

She shook her head

"Stay here, I'm gonna grab you some dinner" He said before kissing her

She nodded and buried her head into the pillows

"Mom? Can Mer stay the night?" Derek asked

"Of course, is everything allright?" His mom asked

"I.. she had a rough time.. I really want to tell you but I rather ask her first" 

"Of course" His dad said

"Mer? I'm back. I have a salade for you"

"Thanks" She said while wiping away hear tears

She started eating in silence before she told him the story

"My dad was back.. he started to yell at my mother and out of the blue he started to hit me.. again. I couldn't react Der.. I just underwent" She said while sitting closer to him and letting her head rest on his chest "He yelled at me and I.. I was scared. It was the first time I was really scared. I didn't want to die. I love you and I want us to have a future and I was so scared"

Derek started rubbing her back, she never told him much about her past except her dad's last year at home was awful. She told him her mother doesn't care about her and her dad sometimes was aggressive. She never told him why she had issues in the beginning with being intimate and he never questioned it. He was very understanding and his family was the best thing that have happened for Meredith in a very long time. Although she was planning to tell him before they actually would have seks but this wasn't the right timing.. She also had no idea if she should mention that she has lost a baby..
