"Mommy, I don't wanna go to school tomorrow" Ellis complained

"What's wrong?" Meredith asked as she sat down with Ellis, outside on the porch.

"Sophie pushed me today" Ellis said as she cuddled closer in Meredith's arms when they were watching Derek, Zola and Bailey playing soccer

"Did she? Did you hurt yourself?" Meredith asked the little girl that she was holding protectively with both arms

"I just hurt my knee a bit but I'm fine now" Ellis said as she lifted her skirt a bit, revealing the bruise

"Did you tell your teacher?" Meredith asked

"No.. I.. I was scared" Ellis admitted

"Do you want me to tell her?" Meredith asked the girl

"No." She immediately replied

"But tell me if it happens again, okay?"

"Okay" The little girl agreed

"We love you so so much, Ellie Belle" Meredith kissed her head

"I love you too, mommy"

"Can I tell this to daddy?" Meredith asked the little girl who nodded her head

"Maybe tomorrow we can all go to McDonalds and once we're home we can watch a movie" Meredith smiled as she looked at her daughter

"Should we help dad? Seems like he's losing" Meredith laughed

The little girl nodded and grabbed Meredith's hand and they ran toward the others, joining them during the game

...

"Goodmorning, Mer" Derek said as he woke up

"Morning" She smiled and wrapped her arms around Derek's body

"I'm gonna make breakfast" He said after a bit

"I'll wake up the kids" She said and got up too.

The whole family prepared themselves for the day and Derek and Meredith dropped the kids off at school

"Mommy? Can we still go to McDonalds tonight?" Ellis asked

"Of course" Meredith smiled as Derek shook his head at the choices of his wife and kids

"Bye!" The kids yelled as Derek and Meredith continued the ride to the hospital. After all these years, they were still madly in love with each other. Their hands clamped into each other till they reached the parking lot.

They made their way inside and went to Meredith's office. She had to grab a few things before she would head downtown for a meeting

"So, I talked to Bailey and I think I'll be able to fund my new research project" Meredith told him

"That's amazing" Derek kissed his wife as he changed into his scrubs

"I have to go! I'm just gonna head downtown and I'll be back before lunch" She told him

"Have fun and goodluck!" He said as she ran out.

Meredith stepped into Derek's car and started driving. After a bit she finally found a parking spot in the parking lot. She took a shortcut and walked in a small street until she got approached by a man, around his 40s. "I'm sorry, could I please use your phone to call a cab?" The man asked Meredith

"Uh, yeah of course but I don't have much time" She said as she handed him her phone

"Thanks" He said and grabbed the phone and instead of calling a cab, he pushed her against the wall and took out a knife "One sound and I'll kill you"

"Let me go, please" She begged

"Shut up" He said and pushed her head against the wall "Give me your money!"

"Stop" She begged as he kept pushing her against the wall "I have no money with me, I forgot my wallet"

"Stop lying!" He kicked her in her back and went through her pockets, not finding a thing

"Jewellery!" He yelled out of frustration

He turned her and his hand was resting on her neck while the other hand held the knife that was resting on her cheek "You have this ring" He said, pointing at the ring she got from Derek. The ring Carolyn gave him to propose to Meredith

"Please, don't.. Please don't take it" She begged

The ring was on a necklace around Meredith's neck. He grabbed it and pulled it off her neck and started strangling her, letting go just in time for her to get some fresh air.

The next minutes felt like complete hell. She felt pain as the man pushed her on the ground and ubleted his pants

"Stop, please" She begged again

"Shut up" He said and kicked her.

She felt an unbearable pain in her left leg but she was scared to scream. He had a knife, she just had to undergo this so she could go home to her kids. Her kids were the only thing why she had to keep going.

The man kept kicking and beating her and didn't stop for a while. She saw him lowering his pants

"No!" She yelled

"Quiet!" He yelled and pulled off her pants and panties.

He lowered his boxers when she heard voices

'Saved' She thought. The guy kicked her head with his foot and ran off, leaving her partly naked on the street

Meredith laid there, barely conscious and in a lot of pain. Silence surrounded her and she fell unconscious before she found out if the people she heard earlier, noticed her

After what felt like hours, she finally got lifted on a gurney. She saw people moving around her but her gaze was too unfocused and darkness took over again

"It's Doctor Meredith Grey" One of them yelled "Let's get her to Grey-Sloan memorial!

On their way to Grey-Sloan, they already warned Bailey to let her know they were on their way with one of them.

Bailey paged Derek to her office

"Bailey, what's going on?" Derek asked her

"Derek, go sit down, will ya"

"What's wrong?" He questioned

"Derek, it's Meredith. They found her unconscious in the city. She's in bad shape. Everyone has been paged."

"Mer?" Derek gasped, his eyes tearing up instantly

"Derek.. There's something else. They found her with her pants and panties ripped off"

"No.. No! You don't think? No! Where's she?"

"She'll come in any minute" Bailey told him and Derek ran downstairs to the ambulance bay
