"Did I pack everything?" Derek asked Meredith
"I think so" Meredith said as she got out of the bed with Ellis in her arms
"We have to stop at daycare to pick up Zola and Bailey" Derek announced
"i know Derek" Meredith giggled
"Here, sit down" Derek grabbed the wheelchair
"I'm fine, Derek" Meredith rolled her eyes
"I know you're fine but it's hospital policy" Derek kissed her temples
Meredith sat down and adjusted Ellis on her lap
"You should wake her" Derek whispered
"No, I'm not. She needs her sleep, Derek"
"Mer, she's getting heavier" Derek frowned
"I can carry my own child!" Meredith snapped
Derek nodded and apologized. He grabbed Meredith's bag and wheeled her outside to daycare to pick up the kids and eventually went to the parking lot
"I wanna play in the garden!" Bailey yelled
"Me too!" Zola agreed
"Sounds good. It will be sunny today" Meredith smiled
"Take it easy, okay?" Derek started to hoover
"Derek, I'm not invalid, okay? No stress, no work outs and no greasy pizza" Meredith giggled
"Mer, you were damn close to freaking flatl-"
But Meredith interrupted him "Stop! Not in front of our kids, Derek. I'm watching myself and I'll be fine!" She snapped
"Sorry" Derek apologized and kissed her head "I'm just concerned about you"
"I know but give me space.."
The rest of the car ride was silent. It was a comfortable silence between Meredith and Derek while Ellis was just looking around her as Zola was reading her book while Bailey was humming with a song that was playing on the radio
"M-ommy? Sch-ool, wh-en?" Ellis asked
"On monday you start again" Meredith replied, is that good?"
Ellis nodded and turned her head again to look outside

"Guys, please sit still" Derek warned the kids
Bailey kept shifting on his chair when Derek snapped
"Bailey, sit still and eat dinner" Derek snapped
Bailey didn't expect his dad to snap like this and just looked at his food when Ellis threw a nugget at Derek
"Ellis, what the hell-" Derek stood up
"Derek, calm down" Meredith told Derek "Hey, Ellie.. you can't throw with food" Meredith looked at the little girl
"N-o y-ell Bay" She whispered "D- d-addy n-o y-ell Bay" Ellis whispered again
"Daddy shouldn't have yelled at Bailey but you can't throw with your food"
"I'm sorry Bails for snapping, I didn't mean to" Derek apologized
"It's okay daddy" Bailey smiled
"S-orry. M-e s-orr-y" Ellis spoke up
"Now let's eat our food before it's cold" Meredith said and squeezed both Bailey and Ellis' hands
As they continued dinner, they started to chat away again. Derek was stressed out and barely slept because of the circumstances
"Derek, go to bed. I'll take care of them" Meredith said once they cleaned everything after dinner
"You sure?" He asked
"We're gonna watch a movie and then it's their bedtime. I mighy keep Zola up a bit longer" Meredith said "Now go" Meredith whispered and kissed Derek's lips
"I love you too much" Derek kissed her back and said goodnight to the kids
"Now what do you guys think? Should we watch a movie?" Meredith asked the kids
They nodded in agreement. This time, Zola could pick the movie and she picked Moana
"Mo!" Ellis smiled as she saw Zola's choice
"Wanna sing together?" Zola asked Ellis who nodded with a lot of excitement
"Go girls" Meredith giggled as they started singing with the movie, after a bit even Bailey joined them
Meredith was smiling as she looked at her kids, she couldn't be more happy than this. She walked into the kitchen to grab them some snacks with slicing an apple into pieces for herself as she remembered what Teddy and Maggie told her about food

She sat the food down on the coffee table and collapsed on the couch underneath a blanket as the kids crawled under it as was
They sat there until the movie ended and she brought both Ellis and Bailey to bed after reading a story for Ellis
She returned downstairs where Zola was picking a movie go watch with Meredith "Should we pick a musical or a comedy?" Zola asked her mother
"I'm in for a musical. We can watch Mamma Mia or Annie?" Meredith suggested
"Can we watch the sound of music?" Zola gasped
"Of course we can" Meredith smiled and she and Zola started singing with the intro music
