"Mer?" Derek asked as he walked into her room
"Are the kids alright?" Meredith immediately asked
"They are napping in my office. I had to give Ellis some meds for her muscles to relax. Mer, your CT came back clear but Bailey and Hunt want to keep you overnight so they can give you more fluids and let you rest some more" Derek said as he took a seat on the edge of her bed
"Derek, I'm okay. Please, I wanna go home" She begged
"I know. Amy, Alex and I agreed to take you home. We'll hook you up to an IV for 24 hours and let you rest in your own bed. I know you don't wanna be here now" Derek said and kissed her lips
"Thanks" She whispered "What time do we leave?"
"Maybe I can pack your stuff, then sign the papers and by then the kids will have had their nap" Derek said
Meredith nodded and grabbed Derek's hand
...
"Mer, are you ready to go?" Alex asked as he walked inside with a wheelchair
"I can walk" Meredith started to protest
"Mer.." Derek sighed as he was carrying a fuzzy Ellis
"Okay" She sighed and got in the wheelchair
"Less dizzy?" Alex asked
"Yeah, it's much better" She smiled "Derek, hand me Ellie. I'll take her" Meredith reached out her arms
"Take it easy" Derek said and placed Ellis in her arms. The little girl immediately wrapped her arms around Meredith and closed her eyes
"Can I help push mommy?" Bailey asked
"Of course, bud" Alex smiled and let Bailey help push Meredith
They made their way out of the hospital and Derek was carrying Meredith's bag and holding Zola's hand as they walked outside
"Meredith?" Miranda's voice was heard as they almost reached the elevator

"Bailey, not now" Derek said and kept walking
Miranda nodded and took off again
Meredith reached her hand out towards Derek which he immediately grabbed before planting a kiss on it
"Let's go" Alex said as he pushed Meredith into the elevator
...
"Bed or couch?" Derek asked as he walked Meredith into the house
"Couch is good" She smiled
Derek grabbed a blanket and a few pillows
"Derek, I'm good" Meredith giggled
"Mommy, do you wanna see my school project?" Zola asked
"Of course! Show me" She said as she opened her arms where her 3 kids immediately crawled into
"H-ome wo-k?" Ellis asked
"Daddy will help you with it a bit later" Meredith smiled as Derek hooked up her IV
"M-ommy, bath-r-oom" Ellis whimpered
"Derek, can you check? She might have had a little accident" Meredith asked
"M-ommy" She wrapped her arms tighter around her
"Daddy's gonna come with you" Meredith whispered and placed a kiss on the little girl's head
"Kay" Ellis whispered as Derek carried her to her bathroom
"So, ZoZo. Tell me about your school project" Meredith said and Zola started telling about her school project. Bailey was listening to his sister while his head was resting on Meredith's shoulder
"Just a little accident. She's all cleaned up again" Derek said as he entered the living room with Ellis
"D-addy, m-ake ake! W-e m-ake ake!" Ellis clapped her hands. It seemed like she got an energy boost
"Can I help?" Zola asked
"Of course. Bails, you gonna stay with mommy or do you wanna help us?" Derek asked
"Can I stay with mommy?" Bailey replied
"Of course baby" Meredith laughed and wrapped her arms around her boy "God, you became so big" She gasped as she tried to hug him into her arms

"I love you mommy" Bailey whispered after a couple of minutes
"I love you too Bails" Meredith smiled and planted a kiss on his forehead
"Do you think me and daddy spend enough time with you?" Meredith asked, showing her vulnerable side
"Of course" Bailey smiled "Why? Is this because of Ellie?" He frowned
Meredith nodded before she opened her mouth "I'm just scared that you or Zola would feel left out. You have to know that that's never our intention to-"
But Bailey interrupted Meredith "Mom, me and Zola don't feel left out. We still have our separated fishing days with dad and cuddle evenings with you and we love Ellis. We love spending time with our little sister"
"I love you so much Bails" Meredith whispered as she embraced the not so little boy and soon enough the two fell asleep
In the kitchen, Derek, Zola and Ellis were baking a vanilla cake. As Derek placed the cake in the oven, he decided to check on Meredith.
"ZoZo, Ellie, will you be fine here?"
Both girls nodded their head and kept sitting on their chairs to watch into the oven
Derek walked into the living room and saw Bailey and Meredith curled around each other on the couch. He walked towards them and adjusted the blanket so it would cover both of them. He checked her IV and blood pressure trying not to wake her up but when he was taking her blood pressure, she started to stir
"Der?" She whispered
"Shh, it's okay. Go back to sleep. I'll wake you up in a few hours" Derek said and kissed her lips
"Mmm.. kay" She whispered and fell asleep
Derek was relieved. Her blood pressure wasn't perfect but it definitely wasn't as high as before
...
Meredith, Derek and the kids were sitting in the living room as they were watching a movie
"Mer? We should bring the kids to bed" Derek whispered after seeing the kids fell asleep
"Let me unhook my IV" Meredith said as she unhooked her IV
"When we're in bed I want you to get another bag" Derek whispered as he helped her
"Let me carry Ellis" Meredith said as she slowly stood up
"Are you sure? I can come get her in a bit" Derek asked concerned about his wife
"I'm sure. She's so small, I barely feel her" Meredith smiled a bit
"I'll take Zola and Bailey" Derek said and lifted each of them in one of his arms
"Watch out with your back" Meredith giggled "Let me go first. I'll open the doors"
Meredith and Derek, carrying the kids, made their way to the kids' bedrooms and gently placed them in their beds
"Goodnight babies" Meredith smiled as she put down Ellis and kissed the little girl's head before moving to Zola's room and doing the same to end in Bailey's room
"Come on, Mer. Let's go to bed" Derek said and wrapped his arm around her waist, kissing her temples
"Hmm" She whispered and rested her head against his chest
Derek helped Meredith into their large bed and grabbed another bag of saltines and hooked her up on the IV
"Goodnight. Love you" Meredith whispered and kissed his lips
"Goodnight. Love you too" Derek whispered back and wrapped his arms around her waist

Decompose!
Dear diary. When you read stories about some people missing and returning after years of absence claiming they were living in another world, your first reaction is to scoff and dismiss a story as a tall tale, right? I know I did. All the time. Until it happened to me and I no longer did. That day was today. Some god of thunder smote me. If it were Chris Hemsworth, I wouldn't mind but it was some barbaric Hitite god that abaondned Earth some four millennia ago. Yes, what can I say? I love the seventh art. I have more hours watching movies than any other activity, including sleep. What? Do you think I'm exaggerating? Maybe I am. I'll really miss hollywood the most. And my biggest regret is that I never got to visit the holy city of cinema. I did not come to another world to be a hero even though there was hints that they hoped I'd save it. I did not come with overpowered abilities able to, dunno, leap tall castles in a single bound, faster than a speeding crossbow bolt, be more powerful than a eight-horse carriage, the bounds. No. After the asshole god that murdered me brought me to his world, he gave me some boons from his discount bin and "The Power of my Soul (tm)". Forgive my french, I hope you understand I am rather upset at dying. And he somehow decided that my power is to recycle stuff. How awesome is that? Not much at first, I must admit. At least I got all my camping stuff and equipment with me. There's no lycra in the other world. I'll make it someday, but that day is not today. So here I am. In another world, in the middle of nowhere. I'm no heroine. As the song goes, I'm your basic average girl. And I'm assumed to be here to save the world. But almost everything can stop me, because I'm not named Kim. Wish me luck, diary. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ This novel is going have the following features: slow-paced slice-of-life No GameLit / LitRPG elements. Movie references. Sandra likes the seventh art. Journal / diary style crafting (includes chemistry, engineering and metallurgy) low magic technological advancement (for Sandra, at least. She is not against sharing though) personal relations clash of perception between the modern and ancient customs. bits of tension, fighting, and plot here and there. I won't repeat myself though. Once she crafts a good batch of soap, for example, she'll just note, "I crafted soap again." Once it is estabilished how she obtains compound X, compound X2 that is obtainable from the same process will also just be mentioned. I'll try to be as realistic as I can with the crafting, chemistry, and technology. Cover: Public Domain Image by StockSnap from Pixabay. No attribution required but we do it anyway.
