"Derek, I can't-" Meredith started
"Mer, no. We're going in" Derek said sternly "Zola, Bailey, put on your shoes and jacket, Ellie come with me"
"Derek, Bailey told me not to come to the hospital in the first two weeks" Meredith whispered just loud enough for Derek to hear
"She did what? Mer, this is bullshit, you're clearly there for a medical reason"
"Derek, please stop" Meredith whispered again
"Mer, you're going in" Derek said and effectively ended the conversation and picked up Ellie only to return a couple of minutes later
"I put the kids in the car, now let me help put on your jacket" Derek said and helped her stand up but she was swaying a lot so he leaned her against his body while he helped her put on her jacket and shoes before helping her to the car
"Is mommy gonna be okay?" Zola asked
"I'm okay ZoZo. Daddy's just overreacting" she said as she turned her head but had to stop as a wave of dizziness overcame her. Derek noticed and grabbed her wrist, trying to find a pulse but only to notice it was shallow
As they continued the drive, Meredith fell asleep against the window, Derek still holding onto her wrist until they arrived in the hospital bay. He had called Alex on his way and he would wait at the entrance
"Someone, go park my car" Derek yelled after helping the kids and Meredith out.
Meredith, who felt too proud to get some help from Derek, slowly made her way inside holding onto Derek and Zola's hands while Derek had Ellis on his hip
"Grey?! Didn't I tell you to stay away?" Miranda yelled as she ran towards them
"Go with uncle Alex, babies" Meredith whispered to the kids and they ran towards Alex before turning around one lore time to check on their parents go have an approving nod

"Bailey-" Derek softly said as Miranda was walking towards them with visible anger
"Shepherd, stay out of this. I told your wife to not show up here for 2 weeks until further notice" She spat out
"Bailey, my kids are watching! I'm not coming in because I want to. You might not understand the almost impossible choice we had to make when I got a call that my daughter was having a seizure but we do, so yes, I had to drop everything and come home because Derek had to do the neuro follow ups" Meredith yelled as Derek held her waist as he saw her losing her balance "I'm sorry but if this would happen again, I would do the same! I- it was.. a dirty thing.. to let us choose-" Meredith said but couldn't finish as she collapsed in Derek's arms
"Someone get me a gurney, now!" Derek yelled and some nurses came running at them to help
"Her BP was out of the roof and her heartbeat was slow. I want cardio even though I think it's exhaustion. Someone, get Hunt in here" Derek yelled before leaning back against the wall
"Derek?" Richard's voice was heard and he felt his hand on his shoulder "Was that Meredith?" He asked as he saw her getting wheeled to an examination room
Derek nodded but didn't say anything more. He just walked to the room where Meredith got examined.
"Someone please tell me what's wrong with my wife" Derek ordered as he walked towards Meredith's head and grabbed her hand and he felt her stir
"Mer?" He brushed his fingers through Meredith's hair
She groaned as she woke up, her eyes slowly opening as she took in her surroundings
"Wh- What?" Meredith whispered
"Shh, you collapsed" Derek whispered

"Grey, you collapsed, we gave you an IV to hydrate you" Hunt told her
"I'm running an EKG test to see if there are any cardio issues going on right now." Teddy told her
Meredith nodded again and let her head rest against the pillow
...
Meredith was brought to a VIP room. A few of their friends had been checking in on them, such as Richard, Alex and Jo. Derek made it clear that she needed her rest.
"Shepherd?" Derek could hear Bailey's voice and slowly turned around
"Yeah?" He asked. He really didn't wanna talk to her now, blaming her for what happened. Being angry at her for making Meredith so upset
"Could I talk to you for a minute?" Miranda asked
"You don't have to talk to me, you should talk to Meredith but I won't give you that chance until she's better, I don't need a dead wife" Derek said with a lot of anger
Bailey nodded and walked away. Derek immediately grabbed Meredith's hand again and kissed it
Until after a few hours, Meredith woke up again. Derek paged Owen and Teddy to see if there's a chance she could get discharged, knowing she didn't like being here in the first place
"I'm sorry, Meredith. Your stats aren't even close to being good enough to be released" Hunt said
"Your blood pressure and heartbeat are still concerning me. I wanna keep you on salatine IV's the whole night, I wanna keep you on a heart monitor and in the morning we'll see" Teddy told her as she wrote some things down in her chart
"You can't be serious?" Meredith started to protest "Derek, I need to go home. The kids and we have so much laundry that needs to be done and it's Saturday , Ellie has PT tonight, god what time is it?" Meredith was freaking out, her monitors started to beep
"Grey, stop" Teddy said as she placed a hand on Meredith's collarbone
"No- I.." Meredith started to tear up
"Mer, stop! Alex brought Ellis to her PT appointment and he's gonna come get the kids afterwards. Then they'll head to our house and spend the night. Tomorrow morning they can come visit us if they're up to it" Derek told her
"No, you're going home with them. They have been alone for too long this week, they need their father" Meredith said, staring at her hands
"I can stay here with you if you want" He whispered as he grabbed her hands, noticing that she's close to fidgeting again.
"Please, go with the kids and tell them I'll be home tomorrow" Meredith whispered before kissing Derek's lips
Derek nodded and grabbed his jacket. "I'll call you when I'm home. I love you Meredith"

All the while, he can’t help but envy the the students who are living the life he had so eagerly awaited. But when an object of great and malevolent power promises to make good on all the promises the mages broke to him Mar is thrust into the world of magic. Mar will find that fate had something more than a life confined to the library planned for him after all. Authors Notes: I consider this to be a comming-of-age Sword and Sorcery story based mostly on the style of classic western fantasies. So if that's your thing then I encourage you to take a peek. Something I want to mention though is that the main character starts of pretty wimpy, and that might not be your thing. That being said, if you stick with him he's got a long way to grow. Also, while this version of the story is meant to be fully readable, more dicerning readers may want to wait until I move out of rough draft phase. There may be some inconsistancies with character and plot while I am still in the rough draft phase. I'm sorry for this, but this is my first web novel and from what I've read the best way to get a good novel out is to write write write, and then edit ruthlessly after you're finished with the book, so that's the plan I'm going to follow. Again, this is a rough draft. Everything you are reading is subject to change, including the name, title, and cover photo. This may no longer be the case once I've decided I know where this fiction is going and I have a reasonable understanding of the characters and their behavior. You're reading what comes off my keyboard as it's made, with very limited editing. There will be mistakes in the text. I do a quick spell check to take out the worst of the errors, but there will be some I miss. You can point them out in the comments if they are particularly confusing or glaring and I will try to fix them, however I am not overly concerned about minor errors as this is not the final draft by any means.

8 211Time Can't Heal This
I've always hated the saying "Time heals all wounds." Maybe in most cases that may be true. In my experience with life and pain however, time has only ever bled out the wound. The scars that the wounds left behind though, are often so deep that just looking at them becomes painful to the mind. Time only heals what you let go of. Sometimes letting go and moving on just doesn't feel possible; no matter how much time you let pass you by.These poems signify what time hasn't healed for me.
