《Never grow up [1/2]》7

Meredith woke up early in the morning. The kids were still asleep so she decided to turn around a bit and felt Ellis unconsciously crawling closer to her so she wrapped her in her arms which was a bit difficult because Bailey's head was resting on her shoulder while Zola's hand was laying on Meredith's stomach.
"M-ommy?" The little girl shifted again
"Shh, go back to sleep" Meredith whispered and brushed her fingers through the little girl's hair
"Kay" She whispered before her soft snores filled the room
Meredith was lying in bed as she remembered the first years of Ellis' existence
Alex and Meredith were entering the hospital. Derek was called in early for an emergency so Meredith was walking inside with the 3 kids. Ellis strapped in the stroller, Bailey and Zola both holding Alex' hands
"Maaaa" Ellis started to stir
"Ellie, shh. I'm gonna pick you up once we're at daycare" Meredith told the little girl as they walked through the doors of the hospital but the little girl started crying
"Alex, would you mind grabbing the stroller so I can carry her?" Meredith asked
"No problem Mer" Alex said and grabbed the stroller. "Bails, Zo, please take onto the stroller" Alex said as Meredith took out the little girl and carefully swayed her in arms
"Maaa" Ellis whimpered
Meredith cuddled the 3 year old little girl against her chest as a lot of people were staring at them. There was a lot of gossip about Meredith and Derek and their family
There was gossip that their disabled daughter was a burden for them but that makes no sense at all. They love their daughter and even though it takes a lot of effort and sometimes more time, they love her just as much as her siblings

"What's wrong baby?" Meredith asked as she held the girl in her arms
Her wrists pointed inwards as her arms awkwardly clenched against her chest
"Auwch" She groaned as she shifted in Meredith's arms
"Alex, I-" She started to panic "She's in pain" Meredith whispered to no one in specific
"Take her to an on-call room and wait till the spasms stop. I'll go drop off the kids and try to find Shepherd" Alex said and took off while Meredith hurried her way to an empty on-call room
Meredith laid the little girl on the bed and grabbed the little girl's arms and rubbed them
"N-ooo!" Ellis sobbed
"I'm sorry, Ellie but it will make it better" Meredith whispered as she tried to calm her down
"Mer?! Ellie?!" Derek asked as he ran into the room
"Her arms again" Meredith gave him a sad smile
"Maaaa n-ooo" Ellis whimpered
Meredith got distracted by Ellis' movements in the bed
"Hey baby" Meredith smiled
"M-ommy, h-i" Ellis smiled as her wrists were clenched against her chest again
Meredith took this as her cue to gently rub her arms again in order to make it stop. It was clear that Ellis' limbs relaxed again
"Morning" Zola whispered as she woke up
"Hi" Ellis giggled
"Morning, baby" Meredith kissed Zola's forehead
"Hmm.. I'm hungry" Zola groaned
"Let's wake Bailey so we can head downstairs and I can make you some cereal" Meredith suggested
"Bay! Baaaay!" Ellis tried to wake Bailey by shaking his shoulder a bit after Meredith helped her sit upright
"Hmm.." the little boy started to stir
"Wake up, Bails. Your sisters are hungry" Meredith giggled
Bailey slowly woke up and sat up "Good morning" He said as he rubbed his eyes
"M-ning!" Ellis giggled
"Let's go downstairs" Meredith announced

"M-ommy" Ellis whined as she lifted her arms in the air "U-p!"
"Ellie" Meredith sighed but agreed on this. Lately, both Meredith and Derek noticed that Ellis more and more asked to be picked up. This was something they needed to mention at their next doctor's appointment
The incomplete family made their way downstairs and Meredith grabbed four bowls and poured cereal and milk in them before grabbing spoons and placing them on the table.
The family digged in and had a little chat over breakfast until Meredith's phone started ringing
"Hey guys" Derek's voice was heard through the phone
"Daddy! When are you gonna be home?" Zola asked him
"My plane leaves in an hour so in about 4 to 5 hours, Zo" Derek answered
"We can come get you at the airport if you want" Meredith suggested
"Only if you aren't too tired" Derek replied
"I'm not" Meredith quickly replied "Text me before your plane leaves"
"I will! Hey babies, are you being good for mommy?" Derek asked the kids
"We watched Frozen last night and slept with mommy in the big bed" Bailey explained
"Hmm.." Derek groaned happily as he could picture his family in the big bed. "Can't wait to join you all tonight"
"D-adda, n-ight b-ed!" Ellis yelled as she was excited to hear her father was coming home
"I'm gonna be home soon" Derek said and Meredith could almost feel the arms that would wrap her tonight
...
As hours passed, Meredith helped the kids in the car and buckled Ellis in her special booster seat that supports her neck and keeps her body in a nice and comfortable position if she has cramps or if her limbs fly around due to the brain damage
Bailey and Ellis chose for the soundtrack of the Frozen movie and all three kids were singing with it. Meredith was excited to see Derek again and she couldn't wait to wrap her arms around her.
"Are we there yet?" Bailey asked after a couple of songs
"Almost" Meredith smiled as she looked into her mirror, checking in the kids.
By now, Zola was reading a book, Bailey was still singing while looking outside and Ellis was fast asleep so Meredith continued the drive to the airport and parked the car once they arrived
"Let's go in to surprise daddy" She announced and helped the kids out and the family made their way to the arrival hall

Sokaiseva
Erika Hanover received her magic on her twelfth birthday—far earlier than anyone was supposed to—and suddenly, everything in her life made sense. Magic could solve everything. Magic was all she'd ever wanted. When she was offered a spot on the roster of a mercenary group policing magic-tinged crime in her home of upstate New York, she jumped at the chance. Anything to get away from her hometown. It didn't matter what the work was. She didn't care. Now, though, with almost a decade between herself and her time as a child soldier with the Radiant, things aren't as clear as they used to be. Part slice-of-life, part coming-of-age, part surreal absurdist nightmare, Sokaiseva is the tale of a shell-shocked shadow-war's veteran recounting her time growing up as the last line of defense in a world secretly teetering on the brink of disaster. Book Two (Teardrop Two-Step) is going live now! New chapters go up Wednesday and Sunday.

Mycology
Declan was but a teenager when he was invited to Gaia. It wasn't some popular VRMMO like the ones his friend keeps recommending, nor was it a 'game' in the traditional sense. Gaia was the stopgap to Indiri, a living breathing world, the final creation of a dead genius. Invited to this world by Eve, the overseer and an AI light-years greater than any that came before her, Declan was given a choice. To join or not to join? Well, why the hell not? Hello, this is a pretty basic VR story which I started writing out of boredom, don't expect anything too great here, it's a somewhat unique setting but with mostly slice of life comedy shenanigans with no real 'plot' since I can't reliably include stakes in a world where respawning is a thing. I'll try to upload at least once every other week but real life stuff may get in the way occasionally. **WARNING** Protagonist comes with an inbuilt wizard hat. Also, any mentions of chapter titles shall be met with falling rocks TPK. **ACTUAL WARNING** Story may or may not read like the fever dream of an eclectic sasquatch with internet connection. Do be warned, that this story has extremely slow pacing by design. Join the Discord!! https://discord.gg/p2gxqs4 Laugh at my empty Patreon!!

Yet the time for her decision has come. Eowain has proven himself loyal, brave, kind—all the things any woman might ask from a man. But there’s the way of it: this is the man, you must marry him. Is she not a free woman? Was she not guaranteed the right of choice? Eithne is frustrated by the expectation that she will simply acquiesce to her fate, that she must accept that the Gods wove some secret pattern for her life and she can do nothing to stop it. So how can she prove she has the freedom to choose if she doesn't choose, “No”? How can she know for herself that her will is truly her own if she consents?
