BENEFITS — CHAPTER NINETEEN!
Aunt May said, smiling fondly as she pulled the car up. "I remember these — kinda jealous."
"It'll be a night to remember," Ned says excitedly, nudging Peter.
May let's put a small laugh as she turns to face the tan boy, "Ned, some hats wear men but you wear that hat."
Ned grins at her, tilting his hat slightly, "yeah, it gives me confidence."
Peter is looking out the window, removed from the merry conversation taking place beside him. He's too busy staring at the nice house with upbeat music. "This is a mistake." He says, turning to his aunt, "we should just go home."
"Oh, Peter. I know. I know it's really hard trying to fit in with all the changes your body's going through. It's flowering now." May says, her mouth set in a straight line. Peter rolls his eyes, letting out a sarcastic laugh. Turning to Ned, May says, "he's so stressed out lately."
Ned nods, "what helps with stress is going to a party. We should go to the party."
Peter nods, opening his car door, "yeah, let's do it. Yeah I'm gonna go."
"Peter," When Aunt May calls his name, Peter stops and leans in to listen to his aunt through the window. Ned gets out behind them. "Have fun."
Meanwhile, [Y/N] is already inside. She's sitting on Liz's kitchen counter talking to Michelle as the curly haired girl makes toast. "So, Harry huh?"
[Y/N] blushes. "Yeah, he's really sweet."
Michelle squints at her and shrugs, "I'm sure he is, I just thought you and Peter would end up together."
[Y/N] let's out a small laugh, memories from the summer resurface in her mind. "Me and Peter? Nah, just friends."

"Does he know that?"
"What do you mean?" [Y/N] asked at the same time Michelle's toast popped.
"Hey guys, cool hat Ned." [Y/N] hears Liz say. [Y/N] cranes her neck so she can see the two boys.
"Hi Liz." They both say at the same time. [Y/N] notices Peter's cheeks turn a light shade of pink.
"I'm so happy you guys came." She says, though her words seem to be mainly directed at Peter. "There's pizza and drinks. Help yourself."
Peter nods, "What a great party." Well, not that Peter would really know. The only parties he'd been to were the kind with musical chairs.
"Thanks." Liz smiled at him, tucking a strand of dark hair behind her ears.
The sound of glass breaking catches their attention. "Oh, I... My parents will kill me if anything's broken. I gotta—" Liz says sheepishly.
The two nod, "have fun." She says, bidding them farewell.
[Y/N] turned back to Michelle who finally finished making her toast. "Wanna go say hi?"
The two walked over, Michelle taking loud bites of her toast as they did so. "Can't believe you're at this lame party." Michelle said to them.
Ned gave her a weird look, "but you're here too?"
"Am I?"
The three watched a Michelle walked away through the crowd. "And I wonder why my Grandma always says I need new friends." Ned sighed.
"So, when's Spider-Man coming?" [Y/N] asked as Harry Osborn began making his way over.
His hands found their way around [Y/N]'s waist. "Hey [Y/N]." He said, kissing her cheek. "Ned.. Parker." Peters jaw clenched.
"DJ Flash." A robotic voice said as airhorns went off.
[Y/N] groaned as she leans into Harry, "what was Liz thinking?"

Harry shrugged, "he's not that bad. He's actually—"
"An asshole?" Peter suggested.
"A dickhead?" Ned added.
Harry rolled his eyes as Flashs' attention landed on them. "Penis Parker! Whats up?"
Peter let's out a groan as he turns to face Flash. The air horn sound can be heard of the speaker again, "So, where's your pal Spider-Man? Let me guess. In Canada with your imaginary girlfriend?"
Peters face reddened as more people began listening and laughing. "That's not Spider-Man. That's just Ned in a red shirt."
The crowd boos.
"You were saying?" Ned says, raising a brow at Harry as he drags Peter off.
[Y/N] feels Harry sigh. "Your friends don't like me, huh?"
"No no, they do it's just..." [Y/N] turned to face him, "it's just your friends that they don't like."
"Flash isn't as bad as he seems. He just thinks he has to act like that to get people to like him." Harry says, moving some hair out of [Y/N]'s face.
[Y/N]'s eyes moved towards Harry's lips and his to hers. "What would you do if I kissed you right now?" He asks, his voice barely above a whisper.
[Y/N] leans in closer, "depends. Why don't you do it and find out?"
No more words needed to be said. Harry got the message and closed the space between them.

A Virtual Invasion
An invasion from another dimension is shut down by an Empire's traitor and the world has a scant few decades to build the strength to resist a multidimensional Empire. How will the world fair when no one even knows its doom is one barred gate away? Fortunately, the traitor has a plan. Maybe with a bit of luck and planning, he can build a force to defend the world without anyone realizing it. Author's Thoughts: What is litRPG (From wikipedia) - LitRPG, short for Literary Role Playing Game, is a literary genre combining the conventions of MMORPGs with science-fiction fantasy novels.[1] LitRPG is a literary genre where games or game-like challenges form an essential part of the story. A LitRPG work simultaneously narrates the story of characters inside and outside of the game-world. At least some of the characters in a LitRPG novel therefore understand that they are playing a game: they are 'meta-aware'. So, while Tolkien's Lord of the Rings is a fantasy novel, a book about people creating avatars and interacting in a Lord of the Rings MMORPG would be a LitRPG novel. Why do I read them? You know, I am not too sure. I love MMOs. I played them, quit them, joined up and repeated the cycle. They are fun! They are a massive waste of time but so are most games. Do I want to read about someone else playing them? Sort of?The advent of VR and the possibility of VR someday becoming so immersive that you can't tell them from reality sets the imagination on fire. What if this could be life? But most stories fall short. At the end of the day the protagonist hangs up his VR helmet and goes to have dinner with his mom and dad or other family and it becomes meaningless. It's like the story that ends because the main character woke up and nothing you read matters. There have been some books that explore the concept of the intersection of reality and total immersion VR. Enders Game is a classic. There were a few others that escape me but they exist, however, the cross between the game and reality is weak.So what if the game was real? The technology needed for total immersion VR is so advanced that by the time we reach that goal technology should have naturally evolved to include several items. You must have direct neural input. You simply can't have a total immersion (all senses and perfect presence) experience without this basic prerequisite. If you have direct neural access, you can probably do neat things like feed knowledge and skills directly to that person. You can undoubtedly do many horrible things as well. Muscles are controlled by the brain. If you control the brain why would you let the body just sit there and rot? A person that sits unmoving for 24 hours a day will have their body whither away just like a coma patient. However, if you control the brain you could control the muscles. On a basic level, this would be isometric impulses, working muscle group against muscle group to avoid atrophy. Taken to its logical conclusion you would be able to gain muscle mass and program muscle memory. The flip side is that you could remote control their body... but let's not go there. So what would people do if it were real? Well, they would probably limit and regulate it since the drawbacks are very obvious. Even if you look at the basic aspects of this you can see some negative possibilities. Look at the Sword Art Online anime. Personally, I think they missed the boat by putting a bomb in the VR helmet. Do you really need a bomb when you have direct access to the brain? So what kind of events would you need to have a situation where the obvious drawbacks haven't been explored? Maybe a society where the advancement of technology has so far outstripped the explorations of its applications that ignorance was truly bliss? Okay, so I had to put in an alien invasion to kickstart the premise, but that was just one of the possibilities.

Kingdom of Ice
"170 years ago, in a world where humans have evolved such that they could live on the ocean floor, and form cities there, Commandant Franklin led a hunting party on a reconaissance expedition north, traveling from the outer edge of the Indian Ocean, all the way to the High Arctic. His goal: to find the fabled Northwest Passages for the Vicegerent of Tridention, and establish business with underwater arctic cities there. But the expedition went awry, and they never returned. Everyone in the party was presumed dead. Until now. When two of the hunters from that same expedition find their way back to Tridention after all these years, Watson, a retired commandant for one of Tridention's thirty-five hunting parties, agrees to help those hunters form a ragtag party of their own, against their leadership's wishes, and travel all the way back to the same Northwest Passages to recover the rest of the hunting expedition. The hope is that their commandant, and other hunters, are somehow still alive and can be brought back home safely. "

The End
There are five days left. The End is a miracle 10,000 years in the making that will free all from the confines of the world. The gods will soon be born. There is nothing that can be done about this. Not a webnovel, but a screenplay, submitted as my dissertation for my screenwriting degree. Sort of experimental. I have learned that I dislike writing screenplays, but all the same, I thought I'd post it anyway so it's at least worth something that way.
