《A Night Under A Thousand Stars》St. Barts

I woke up to the sun shining in my face making me squint. I placed my hand in front of my eyes blocking out the sun as I sat up against the headboard. I turned my head and looked at Michael sound asleep next to me on his stomach with his jet black curls sprawled out all on his pillow.

I chuckled and leaned down placing a soft kiss on his cheek before I pulled back the covers getting out of the bed. I covered Michael back up and went into the bathroom to wash up. After brushing my teeth and going through my morning skin care routine I walked back out into the room and saw Michael still sleep.

I chuckled and crawled back in the bed running my hand across Michael's back and laying down on him. He started to stir and I leaned down and kissed his cheek and behind his ear. "Mm," Michael groaned, waking up.

I laughed, getting off of his back so he could turn over, but still laid next to him, "Goodmorning," I said softly in his ear. He rubbed his eyes and looked at me smiling, "Good morning," he said as his voice cracked. "What time is it?" he asked. "A little past 9:30," I answered, smiling at him. "It's our last day in paradise," he said sadly. "I know," I said, pouting. He sat up against the headboard, "It's okay, we'll get started early on the day so we can make the best of it," he said getting out of bed, "I'm going to go get washed up."

"Okay, I'm going to have them start on breakfast," I said, getting out of bed and walking down the hallway to the kitchen. I walked in and saw the staff arriving, perfect timing. "Bonjour Madame," they all said as they walked in. "Bonjour," I said, greeting them all back with smiles. "Jean-Pierre," I said, gaining his attention, "I need you to make a grand breakfast please," I said, smiling at him. "Oui, Madame," he said, smiling at me. "Merci, can I request french toast," I said smiling giddily and he shot me a smile, "My specialty," he said winking and I smiled walking out to the balcony taking in the view.

I took a deep breath, admiring the view, feeling so content and relaxed. This vacation was just what I needed, what Michael and I both needed especially after I found out Noelle had broken into my home. Michael tried his best to keep my mind off of it and I appreciate that he was trying but I also couldn't ignore it because someone had literally broken into my home.

Wes was back in the US taking care of it for me. He had the windows replaced and fixed my picture frames with the photos of Michael and I which I was grateful for. He also had more cameras installed so I guess that made me feel a little bit better.

I felt two hands wrap around my waist and I smiled to myself as Michael placed a soft kiss on my cheek. "Oh hi," I said, turning my head towards him. "Hi," he said, smiling at me. "What are you doing out here?" he asked. I shook my head, "Just thinking," I whispered.

"Try to not think about it," Michael said softly, "I know that's easier said than done, but I don't want this to affect you and your mental health again." I nodded, "Yeah, you're right," I said, giving him a small smile. He turned me around in his arms and hugged me, "We're going to enjoy our last day here and have the time of our lives, alright?" he said. I chuckled, nodding, "Alright," I said, pulling back and smiling at him.

"Okay, good, now to start off this day, why don't we go for a swim? The pool is still heated," he said, wiggling his eyebrows. "I say yes," I said and he smiled, picking me up and throwing me over his shoulder.

"Michael!" I squealed through my laughter, "You better not drop me!" He laughed and smacked my ass making his way back down the hallway to the bedroom. We entered the room and he tossed me onto the bed making me laugh. I went to sit up but he pointed at me, "Don't move," he said and I pursed my lips stilling my movements.

I watched from the bed as Michael went into the closet and pulled out a bathing suit. He held up a black one and an orange one, "Hm," he said, pursing his lips. I softly laughed watching him. He gasped and put the other two back in the closet, "This one," he said, pulling out a one piece one with a pattern and fabric on it, "You haven't worn this one yet," he said licking his lips.

I smiled watching him walk back over to the bed. He laid it down next to me and smiled. He slowly started pulling off my yoga pants and saw him smirking at me, "What are you doing?" I asked slowly while watching him. He didn't say anything and just continued to undress me by pulling off my tank top.

I giggled as he got me completely naked feeling shy. He grabbed the swimsuit, eyeing my body before he crouched down and put my legs through, "Sit up for me," he said, licking his bottom lips as I obeyed.

"Oh, you're dressing me," I said, smiling at him as he pulled up the one piece and put the straps over my head. "Mhm," he hummed as he grabbed my other clothes and threw them on top of the suitcases in the corner. "There, all done," he said, standing back and dusting off his hands like he'd done some real labor. "Thank you," I said, grabbing a cover up and tie around my waist but Michael grabbed it. "Let me," he said, tying it around my waist as I playfully shook my head at him. "There, sexy," he said and I laughed.

"My turn?" I asked, smiling at him. "Uh uh," he said, shaking his head. I pouted, "Why not?" I asked. He tried to hide his smile, getting all shy, "Because if you dress me, we won't leave the room," he said, finally looking at me. I smirked, "That doesn't sound too bad to me."

He looked at me and shook his head, "Let's save that for tonight, let's swim," he said, holding out his hand for me. I smiled, grabbing it, letting him lead me to the pool.

I dived in first, feeling all of my worries go out the door and instantly feeling relaxed again. Michael jumped in and swam up next to me. "Isn't this view just beautiful?" I asked in awe. "It's more than beautiful," he said next to me. "I wish I could escape everyone and everything and just live here," I said and he playfully scoffed, "Thanks," he said but I knew he was joking.

I gave him a look, "you know I didn't mean you," I said and he laughed nudging into me, "I'm kidding, but me too. You know...," he said trailing off making me look at him, "We could buy this villa and just hide away together. You and me."

I smiled, linking my arm in his, "That sounds like heaven," I said and he laughed. "We could live a simple life. Taking it day by day," he said, "We'd have the money to do whatever we want, go where we want, buy whatever we want."

I smiled, "And also have as many kids as we want," I said and Michael's smile grew wider than I had ever seen. "You don't know how happy it makes me to hear you talk about kids," he said. "Our kids," I said, correcting him and he pulled me into a tight hug.

I chuckled and hugged him back. "Our kids," he said, sighing happily in my ear, "I can't wait." I giggled pulling back to look at him, "Yeah me neither. Just you know," I said looking around, "Patiently waiting on a ring," I said, giving him a hint. He didn't say anything, he just looked at me with a blank expression.

I felt a little twinge of hurt but mentally decided to ignore it, "I'm gonna take a few laps," I said, looking away from him. He went to say something but I dipped under and swam to the other side of the pool.

We swam around for a good half an hour till breakfast was ready so then we got out to eat. We made small talk as we ate and after, I decided to do some yoga to calm me down. Afterwards, I headed to the room to take a nice long shower for some time to think about earlier.

I was thrown off by Michael staying silent when I hinted at marriage. I mean he used to say little things all the time about me becoming Mrs. Jackson and what not, so for him not to say anything, hurt a little. It was obvious that I wanted to marry him and I thought the same went for him, but I'm starting to think maybe I was wrong.

I don't want to rush him by any means and I know he had gotten his heartbroken when he proposed to that witch before but I'm not her, nor will I ever be. I was ready. I honestly think Michael could've proposed the night in Paris when we first met and I would've said yes.

I shrugged it off though trying not to overthink because that's when things get worse and you put stuff into your head that's not true, so I guess I'll just be patient, but I can only be patient for so long.

I ended up getting out of the shower after an hour of thinking and decided to straighten my hair back and put on some makeup. I threw a dress on and as I finished, I decided to call Josephine and Alisha.

"Ashley!" Josephine exclaimed, making me chuckle, "Hi Jo," I responded smiling. "Hey girl!" Alisha added. "Hi Lish! I miss you guys so much," I said and they aww'ed. "Aww, we miss you too," Alisha said for the both of them. "What are you doing? How's the trip!?" Josephine asked.

"It's good! We're having a lot of fun. It's so relaxing here. I wouldn't mind purchasing a villa out here for a vacation home," I said and Alisha butted in, "Do it, so I could use it," she said, making me and Jo laugh.

"I actually might. It's beautiful, I love it here," I said through my laughter. "What time do you guys leave tomorrow?" Jo asked. "We're leaving pretty early because as y'all know, I have to pack and get ready to leave for Milan in two days," I said, "Are you guys all packed?" I asked. Alisha was coming along of course as my assistant and Josephine was going to be walking in some shows alongside me.

"Nope," they both said simultaneously. I laughed, "Yeah, me neither but somehow it'll all come together," I said. "Where's Michael?" Alisha asked. "Um, I'm not too sure. He's somewhere around here," I said and they gasped, "What?" I asked confused. "You don't know where Michael is. That's alarming," Alisha said and I stayed quiet.

"What's wrong?" Alisha asked. "Yeah, you sound a little down," Josephine added and I internally sighed. "Nothing, just miss home a little especially with everything going on," I said. "Aw Ash, I know," Alisha said, "It's gonna be okay. They'll find that heffa and if they don't I'll personally locate that bitch."

Josephine and I laughed at Alisha, "You'd probably do a better job than the police honestly," I said making them laugh even more, "I'm just scared to go to my own house, I don't want anyone to get hurt, and I don't know if Michael wants to marry me anymore, so.." I said trailing off.

"Woah woah woah, back up. What about Michael?" Jo questioned. I sighed telling them about earlier, "He really didn't say anything?" Alisha asked. "Nope," I said, popping the 'p.'

"I think I'm overreacting though," I said, sighing. "No, I understand why you feel like you do, but maybe he's just scared," Alisha said. "Yeah maybe," I said quietly. "Have you talked to him about it?" Josephine asked.

"No, I've been kind of avoiding him since breakfast," I answered. "Maybe you should talk to him ," she suggested. "Yeah, I agree," Alisha said, "Everyone knows when you guys are going through something, your guys ability to communicate goes out the window." And truth be told, Alisha was right.

"Yeah, maybe, I'm just afraid he'll say something I don't wanna hear y'know?" They sighed, "I hope that's not the case though. You guys love each other too much," Josephine said. "Yeah, if you two don't get married, I'd never believe in love," Alisha said, making me laugh. "Neither would I," I said laughing.

As our laughter died down, I heard the door open and in walked Michael. I looked up at him and he smiled at me. I gave him a small smile. I cleared my throat, "Um, I'll see you guys soon, I gotta go," I said. "Okay, have a safe trip back! Love you," Jo said. "Yes! Call me when you land, love you," Alisha added. "I will, thank you guys and love you too, bye," I said as we all hung up.

I placed the phone back on the receiver as Michael came and sat on the arm of the chair I was sitting in. "Hi," he said, smiling at me. "Hey," I said softly. "Where've you been? I've missed you," he said.

"Well, I did some yoga and then took a long shower and got ready," I answered. He nodded, "You look pretty," he said, making me finally look up at him. "Thanks," I said with a smirk. "It's our last day, wanna do something?" he asked. "Like what?" I asked.

He shrugged, "I don't know. Maybe go visit the little shops, go to that beach we like, or visit the art gallery," he said. "Yeah, sure," I said, playing with my fingers. "Okay cool and then we can come back, get ready, and go out to a nice dinner. How does that sound?" he asked, grabbing my hand and placing a kiss on the back of it.

"Sounds like a plan," I said, smiling at his small gesture. He smiled and caressed my hand, "What's wrong? You seem a little....I don't know....distant, sad," he said looking at me with a slight frown.

I shook my head, "I'm okay," I said and he looked at me skeptically as it went silent. He studied me and I looked down not wanting him to read me even more. I heard him chuckle but I still looked down at my hand, playing with my promise ring.

"Smiles," he said slowly, making me look at him, "I know you like the back of my hand and I find it an insult when you don't tell me the truth. Something's wrong. I sense it all over you." I pursed my lips looking down. I opened my mouth to say something about earlier, but decided against it. I sighed, "Nothing just thinking about everything going on," I said, telling only half the truth.

He sighed and pulled my hand, "Come here," he said, making me stand in front of him. He pulled me into a hug, "I know it's a lot for you because it is for me, but please," he pleaded, "don't let it get to you. Don't let it steal your happiness again. We'll catch her and you'll never have to worry about something like this ever happening to you again." I let out a breath and nodded. "So try not to get worked up about it. I don't want what happened to you last time to happen again," he added.

"Okay," I said quietly as I pulled back. He looked at me and tucked my hair behind my ear, giving me a small smile. I also gave a small smile and he reached up, gently grabbing my cheek and brought my face down to his so he could kiss me.

I smiled into the kiss. "Kiss me back," he mumbled against my lips, smiling and I chuckled, pressing my lips into his. He pulled me closer and deepened the kiss and just like that, everything from before went out the window.

I pulled away trying to catch my breath, "I thought you wanted to go out," I said smiling at him. "I do," he said and I laughed, licking my lips. "By that kiss, something tells me different," I said and he laughed.

"Maybe," he said, smiling slowly, "Are you ready?" he asked. I nodded, "Yeah," I said. "Okay, let's go," he said, grabbing my hand and pulling me out of the room.

Michael and I spent the next few hours exploring the island one last time. We went shopping and bought like knick knacks, grabbed a quick snack to eat, and visited the art gallery Michael had been dying to go to. And I had to admit it was beautiful. Michael even bought me this painting I had fallen in love with but little does he know, I bought him one that he had loved but I was having it shipped to Neverland.

Time had flown by, so we ended up heading back to the villa to get changed for our last dinner. "Ashley, you ready? The car is here," Michael said walking into the bathroom as I tried to decide what to do with my hair.

I huffed, "Yeah, I guess," I said slightly irritated with my hair. "What's wrong?" Michael asked, standing next to me and looking at me through the mirror. "My hair," I said, running my hands through it.

He chuckled, "What's wrong with it? It looks how it always does," he said and I whined. "Don't say that," I said, getting frustrated. Michael's mouth dropped, "What do you mean!? I meant your hair always looks great," he said, chuckling a little, "Why do you look like you're about to cry?" he asked.

I gave him a look and placed my hands over my face taking a deep breath. I still heard Michael chuckling, "It doesn't look bad? I don't know why you're so upset," he said, confused. "I'm over this fucking blonde. I want to go back to black," I said, sighing, "This blonde is ugly."
