"Okie, which one do you want?" He asked as they looked at the ice-cream options.
She squinted her eyes, a war raging inside her head - whether to try something new or her usual.
"Hard decision?" He chuckled. She gave him a smile before turning back to the menu.
"Ah, what to choose," she murmured. "Don't wanna make you pay for anything expensive, though."
"You do know this is supposed to be your repayment, right?" He teased. Her eyes widened as she remembered.
"Oh gosh, I forgot!" She straightened up. "Right, I'm taking (f/f/i). What are you having? I.... have enough for two ice-creams."
He laughed again (he keeps doing that when he was around her; what was up with him?) before saying, "Relax, I'll pay."
"No, no, no, it's my treat, I'll pay," she insisted. He tried to take charge but she poked him in the chest. "Don't fight me, Kim NamNam!"
He ducked his head, his hand flying to cover his cheeks and nose. She froze, realising what she had just called him.
"..."
"Uh... Flavour?" She asked, to clear the awkwardness. He cleared his throat.
"Right, uh, a chocolate chip for me," he said to the guy.
"Good choice," she nodded at him. "How much?"
She paid him the amount and the two grabbed their cones and walked out. They were in the park beside the school. They walked on the path while talking.
"Tell me something personal," (y/n) said to him. "And I'll tell you something personal too."
"Oh, wait," he racked his brains. "I secretly write songs and I rap."
"Woah, really?" She asked. "That's so cool! You have to show me some day."

"Sure," he said with an easy smile. "Your turn."
"I have never had a boyfriend," she confessed. "Or a first kiss. Or a hug, for that matter. I have literally zero contact with the opposite gender, i.e. boys."
"I don't believe you," Namjoon licked his ice-cream. "A beautiful girl like you not having a boyfriend till now? Impossible."
"Well, have you had one?" She asked, ignoring the way her heart started cheering crazily at his compliment. He choked on his ice-cream.
"What, a boyfriend?" He said. Her eyes widened before she started laughing, rubbing his back to soothe the after-effects of the choking.
"No, you dumbbell, a girlfriend," she said through a grin that masked her pain at his soon-to-come answer. "Or a boyfriend. It's your preference. I'm fine with anything."
"I'm straight, thank you very much," he said to her, continuing to lick his ice-cream before it melted. "Although I have friends who are not."
"Oh, who are they?" She asked.
"Taehyung-ah and Jungkook-ah are sophomores, they started going out last year," he told her. "Yoongi-hyung is a senior, and he is dating Jimin-ah, who's a sophomore with the other two."
"Wow, two couples? I wanna meet them."
"Sure, I can arrange that tomorrow at lunch."
"So, are those all your friends?"
"No actually, there's also Jin-hyung and Hoseok. Jin-hyung is a senior and Hoseok is with us. Actually, Hoseok was with us in our sophomore project too, remember?"
"Oh, he's the happy one, right?" She asked. Namjoon laughed.
"Yeah. Oh no, look at the time. It's late. I actually have an appointment with someone."
"That's okay," she smiled. "Today was great. We should do this again."
"Definitely. Call you later."
"Bye, Joonie."

Viceroy's Pride
This story could be about the Tellask Empire, ruler of a thousand suns and faced with imminent peril at the hands of the Orakh hordes. It could be about Paltai Amberell, the scion of a noble elven House, fallen upon hard times and seeking to find the key that will restore his family's name and save the Empire itself. It could be the story of his voidship, The Viceroy's Pride, powered by magic and crewed by a team of crack marines as they search for adventure and the solution to the Empire's myriad problems. Instead, this is the story of Daniel Thrush, human electrical engineer, befuddled researcher and survivor of the debacle that was first contact with a spacefaring civilization. Due to a combination of luck, magic, hard work, and more luck he is thrust into the center of events as Earth is shoved onto a much larger stage rife with semi-immortal elves and magical kingdoms that predate the Earthly invention of agriculture. Earth is outnumbered, and we have precisely one wizard. Dan. He's not very good at it, but he's going to have to learn in a hurry or watch everything he knows get torn apart by massive spacefaring empires straight from the pages of a fantasy novel. ---------- Some readers have noted that the MC tends to be weak willed and pushed around a bit. A significant portion of the story is his character growth into not being a pushover (i.e. him being passive is in the early chapters on purpose). I'm just including this caveat/warning to make sure that readers aren't surprised/upset and that they stick with it until he learns to stand up for himself. His arc begins to crystallize around chapters 25-27. If that's too long to wait, I get it, I'm just trying to do my due diligence and warn you that the character development is a bit of a slow burn. This is NOT a harem novel. Nothing against them, just not what it is. --------- Updates Monday, Wednesday, and Sunday Feel free to bother me on our discord- Discord!
