(Y/n)'s P.O.V.

I stared down at the sleeping figures before me, my hands shaking slightly as I edged closer and closer to the bed. The ringing of my ears drowned out the sound of my labored breaths. Everything around me seemed surreal and the only thing I could focus on was the sound of someone's voice echoing in my head.

"Go on, kill them. Do it, (Y/n). Do it. Do it. Do it."

My mouth was as dry as a desert as I slowly unsheathed the knife in my hand. There was a reflection of moonlight casted upon the shiny blade. Turning it towards me, I could see my reflection in the untainted metal.

My (e/c) eyes were wide and my (s/c) skin was paled from dread. The expression on my face was filled with absolute despair. I couldn't stand to look at myself any longer, so I turned my attention to my sleeping father.

I quickly covered his mouth and raised the knife, stabbing him multiple times in the chest. Blood from the attack splattered everywhere from the sloppy stabs that were penetrated into his chest. He began to struggle against me, but he was significantly weakened from the loss of blood. His expression when he saw that I was the culprit to the attack was absolutely horrifying to look at.

Awoken from the struggling of my father, my mother let out a disturbed gasp at the sight before her. I quickly lunged at her, straddling her waist and covering her mouth as she let out a scream. I began to hesitate when I saw the glint in her eyes. She was silently pleading for me not to do this, but a voice reminded me of what I was supposed to do.

Tears fell down my blood-stained face as I began to stab my mother. I continued to stab her chest until she no longer moved. Everything around me seemed to shift as I realized what I had just done.

I gasped as I stared down at my lifeless parents. There was blood everywhere. On the walls, on the sheets, on my body. My salty tears were the only thing washing away the crimson blood on my face. I couldn't help but feel my heart ache at the appalling expressions permanently plastered on their faces. Their own loving daughter had brutally slaughtered them both without a clear motive as to why. I stared down at the knife as I sobbed.

The previously untainted knife was now painted with crimson. My grip on the handle tightened as I began to cry more. I buried my face in my bloodied hands as an endless stream of tears flowed.

"Good job," that same voice spoke from behind me. I didn't lift my head as I felt a hand began to pet the top of my head. "Stand up."

I didn't move from my position, my body seeming glued to the bed that the corpses of my parents laid upon. The hand that was stroking my head moved away as the person stated again, "stand up."

I didn't want to move a muscle. I felt frozen from the shock of the situation.

I let out a choked gasp when the person grabbed my face, digging their long, acrylic nails into my skin. They forced me to look up at them. Their expression held no remorse, pity, or anything at all as they stared at me unamused. "I said stand up. You will listen to me, got that?"

The person dragged me off of the bed and forced me to stand before them. My legs trembled and I struggled to stand. I was disgusted by my own existence at this moment.

"How do you feel?" the person asked me.

"T-They didn't de-deserve that-!"

"I didn't ask that," the person slapped me, "I asked how you felt."

"I...I feel horrible," I answered, my entire body now trembling. The person before me stared deeply into my eyes, searching for the emotion they desired me to feel.

"Ah!~ Your eyes are absolutely radiating with despair!!" they exclaimed, hugging me tightly and shoving my face into their chest. The blood from my parents stained their skin as well as they smothered me into their chest. "I love it, I love it! It was just what you needed to feel. This truly made you feel despair!~"

I turned my head to rest my cheek against the person's chest, listening to their quickened heartbeat. They hugged me tightly as they gushed about the despair this situation made me feel.

I noticed the two others that were present in the room, witnessing my crime as well. One person with short black hair and freckles held no expression as they gazed over at me. The other person with monotone, dual-coloured hair held an expression of concern. I couldn't see their faces properly, but they were familiar.

The person in front of me finally released me from the bone crushing hug and turned to the other two in the room. "M_k^r0, clean the crime scene up. M0n^k._a, clean up (N/n)," the person instructed, but the names they spoke seemed muffled to me.

The person with short black hair gave a brief nod and rushed over to the bloodied bed, immediately getting to work. The dual-haired person began to step towards me, but before they could take me the person before me spoke one last sentence.

"Never fail me, (N/n)."

I shot upwards with a gasp, immediately feeling the icky sensation of sweat covering my body. I was sickened and startled, recalling the memories that were resurfaced in my dream. The night I murdered my parents...

I suddenly felt like vomiting. I held a hand over my mouth and took a few deep breaths to prevent myself from puking all over the bed. I was shaking. I felt disgusted, horrified, terrified...

But I wondered why some aspects were blurred. I thought I could never forget a single detail of that night, but I couldn't recall who those people were. I knew who they were, but no matter how hard I thought, it was as though something was preventing them from being revealed. Perhaps it was something in my mind holding me back from revealing their true identities.

I quickly sat up and rushed to the bathroom, slamming the door shut behind me. I sat in front of the toilet for a bit in case I did actually vomit, but after my stomach began to settle a bit, I finally moved away from it. I hopped into the shower and quickly washed off the sweat that clung to my skin.

No matter how much I tried, that memory kept replaying in my head. It was like an annoying tune that got caught in your head, but no matter how much you tried to get rid of it it wouldn't leave your mind. You could try to listen to other songs, distract yourself, or do anything, but no matter what, that tune will continue to haunt your thought process.

I exited the shower, my skin now refreshed. I changed into a new uniform and exited the bathroom. I needed to go take a walk and clear my head. It wasn't 7 a.m. yet since the morning announcement hadn't gone off, so hopefully no one was out and about yet.

I walked to my door and exited the room, locking the door behind me. I began to walk down the hall, no particular destination in mind. I just walked around the halls. Eventually after a bit of walking, I ended up on the last available floor of Hope's Peak: the 3rd floor. I was about to head back to my dorm until I heard the sound of shoes tapping against the tile floor.

I quirked an eyebrow and quietly walked down the hall. I poked my head around the corner and saw...Hifumi? I noticed him rushing towards the physics lab. Curiosity fueling my actions, I decided to get involved in the situation and followed him.

I sneakily followed behind him, sure to keep hidden so he wouldn't see me. It was pretty simple considering the amount of movies I've casted in where I play as something such as a spy or an assassin that has to sneak around to complete their tasks. I watched as he entered the physics lab, shutting the door behind him.

I waited a bit before approaching the door. I pressed my ear against the wooden surface, listening for any shuffling or movement of equipment. Instead, I heard the sound of a door clicking closed. Did he enter the storage room attached to the lab?

I decided to venture onward. I slowly opened the door, crouching and entering the room. The door quietly clicked behind me. I scanned the area and saw no sight of him. Now standing, I made my way over to the storage room. Pressing my ear against the door and once again listening for him, I heard him shuffling around inside. He wasn't very quiet.

I then heard the sound of footsteps approaching the physics lab. I dove behind some equipment that concealed me entirely, turning my head to watch as Taka entered the room. It seemed that Hifumi and Taka had some sort of meeting arranged...how interesting.

I observed as Taka entered the equipment room, leaving the door slightly open. I shuffled over and peered through the small gape, watching as Hifumi hit Taka in the head with a brightly coloured hammer. I held back a gasp as I watched Taka's body fall to the ground. Hifumi laughed a bit as he dropped the hammer, beginning to head towards the door.

I retreated back to my hiding spot to hide from Hifumi. I heard a small clatter as though something hit the floor, but I ignored it and remained still. I held my breath as I watched Hifumi walk out of the room, leaving the door open behind him. I clenched my eyes shut as I listened to the sound of his quick steps against the tile.

He then stepped on something, looking down at the small object. "Huh? What's this?" he asked, picking up the object. My eyes flew open and glanced at what he was holding, realizing what the cause of the clatter was.

In his hands were my e-Handbook.

He opened the small device, gasping when he read my name aloud. I slid a bit closer to the equipment in an attempt to conceal myself further, but my back had made contact with a nearby shelf and caused a small rattle to echo within the room.

I froze when Hifumi's wide eyes met mine. He was crazed by panic as he dropped my handbook and rushed back into the equipment room, grabbing the hammer. I quickly stood and began to sprint away.

I stumbled a bit when my ankle hit the large air purifier that took up majority of the room. I groaned but continued to rush towards the door. Now slowed by my aching ankle, Hifumi caught up behind me. Just as my fingers grazed the door handle, the impact of a hammer making impact with my head caused me to drop my arm.

My back made contact with the hard tile floor. I stared up at the lightly-coloured ceiling as my vision began to blur. Both my head and my ankle ached horribly. A pathetic scream escaped from my throat as I saw Hifumi loom over me.

"I'm sorry, Ms.(L/n)," Hifumi apologized, though his voice sounded muffled. "There musn't be any witnesses!" After that statement, he seemed to have rushed out of the room.

My thoughts were jumbled and my emotions were unclear to me. I felt as though the blow of the hammer had scrambled my brains. The room was spinning around me and everything was blurry.

I didn't want to die, not yet. Please, not yet. I've come so far. I can't die yet. I can't disappoint her. I can't fail her. I can't ruin my plan.

I was terrified, but was I scared of the uncertainty that lay behind death or something greater?

I had hoped for a miracle in that moment. Prayed that someone would come and save me. I just wanted to be saved from what seemed to be the endless darkness that I had begun to sink into. Just as my consciousness began to slip away, a light of hope was gifted to me.

"Don't worry, my love. You're going to be okay. I promise."
