- Ambiguous Action -
Using [Enna Core] once more, Khun trapped Grand De Lee inside the [Enna Core] and reflected his attack back while running away.
Receiving a strong hit from Grand De Lee who has yet used his full power, Charlotte needed time to heal herself first. It was hard for her to run away so Khun had no other choice but to carry her in his arms.
"You really received a serious hit from the ranker, huh?" Altaira asked without any intention taking his sister back. He thought that it might be better to leave Charlotte at Khun.
"Why don't you ask Mr. Nathan to beat you up and see how good it feels?" Charlotte sarcastically asked back. "If I could run, I wouldn't want to be carried like this."
Not only that it made her felt embarrassed, but in the same time, because of carrying her, Khun's speed became slower. If Grand De Lee was about to chase
'Ah, there is another method to solve that problem.'
Charlotte came up with a good idea to help Khun run faster.
[Time Manipulation Skill- Acceleration]
Khun who has been running realized that his speed has been increasing. He felt that his body was lighter and he realized that his speed was now equal with Noah. But after 6 seconds passed, his body became heavier than before.
[Time Manipulation Skill- Acceleration]
The same feeling came again.
"Acceleration will speed up your speed as the time passes" said Charlotte and gained his attention. "But I couldn't do it longer than 6 seconds so I could only use this skill again and again to increase your speed."
"But wouldn't you be wasting your power?" Khun asked, surprised that Charlotte would be wasting her power on something like this.
"I need some time to heal myself a bit" said Charlotte. "You are carrying me so your speed will be slower due my weigh. Using this skill to increase your speed again and again is worth it."
Khun, "......."
Charlotte felt that she couldn't stand looking at him anymore and changed the topic of conversation.
"A- anyway, right now our only choice is to help Hwaryun and find Grand De Sah and the Soul- Stirring Ladle" said Charlotte. "Gaining Hell Joe on our side is impossible since brother is fighting with him right now."
"Bam is fighting with Hell Joe?!"
"I'll tell you the whole story later. But he'll be fine with the Zahard Princesses to help him, as well as Hockney and another important figure who doesn't want to end his love story soon enough" Charlotte assured Khun who was getting even more confused and puzzled by her words. She turned around and looked at the red haired ranker, Nathan and asked, "Mr. Nathan. Can you please protect Khun's lighthouses?"
"What?" The red haired ranker responded.
"That Grand De Lee knows the weakness of Khun's skill and will definitely aim at the lighthouse where Beta is" said Charlotte seriously.
"He knows [Enna Core]'s weakness?" Khun asked Charlotte who looked at him and nodded her head with a hum.
"He's a ranker with sharp eyes. With his ability, he could even tell that we are regulars. It isn't a problem for him to notice that there is someone in your lighthouse" Charlotte answered.

Nathan pondered about it before he agreed to listen to Charlotte's words. If the ranker was truly aiming for the lighthouse that Khun had, then it would be better to be alerted and defend them.
By using one of Khun's lighthouses, Sachi told them that he had found the device that could open the door to where De Sah was trapped. It was a good timing Sachi found that device and contacted them since right now they needed someone to open the door for them.
The gate was later on opened and in the same time, Khun saw something that seemed to be moving pass them.
Nathan sensed something wrong and used Shinsu to block something that was heading to one of Khun's lighthouses. He immediately pulled out his sword and blocked Grand De Lee's attack.
"Die, you thief!"
"STOP!"
Aside from Charlotte, the others were surprised to see Rachel there, stopping Grand De Lee.
Charlotte had warned Grand De Lee before she was attacked, that those people were Bam's and her companions. She had warned Grand De Lee to not attack them otherwise she'll not let him off. But Grand De Lee didn't seem to care about that and to him, the Soul- Stirring Ladle was more important than those regulars.
Charlotte wasn't surprised that Rachel would show up there. First, it was because of the manhwa. Second, it was because Rachel also wanted to find the ladle and make a trade with Madorako for the thorn fragment that Madorako has been keeping. Third, it was because her thoughts were different than Grand De Lee. While she was trying to break and change her destiny and Bam's destiny, Grand De Lee thought that it was a fool thing to change the destiny. The last reason encouraged her to confront Grand De Lee.
But she was impulsive.
"Honestly, I don't think you guys have the right to keep that ladle. Wouldn't it be better for everyone to give the ladle to Hell Joe and tell him to leave this place? It's starting to get on my nerves. That goddamn fatalism of yours, I mean."
"Getting on your nerves.....?" Grand De Lee was surprised to hear that. After all, she was also one of his saviors. Shouldn't she understand his actions and support him unlike what Charlotte did?
"You think everyone has to live according to a fixed destiny? Don't be silly. No one on the outside lives like that! Destiny only has its value when you create it by yourself!" said Rachel with a hint of anger. "I know very well! It's foolish to devote your own life on destiny like that!"
There was no time for her to rest. Charlotte tried to get herself stand up again after she sighed while both Rachel and Grand De Lee were still arguing.
"Could you even stand?" Khun asked. "Don't force yourself if you can't!"
"Stand or not, there'll be a fight soon" said Charlotte. "I could only bear with it."
"Bear with what? Do you want to collapse like when you have just finished fighting with White again?" Khun asked, showing a hint of anger. "Do you really enjoy being in danger all the time?"

"......" She turned her head away in guilt.
Whether she was going to force herself or not, that will depend on the fight later on. She couldn't depend on Nathan since Nathan didn't know what will happen in the future and timing was essential in everything.
All the coincidences, time and space, those were necessary in order to change and to keep the future in the same way.
"Anyway, you better get Beta out right now" she changed the topic. Taking advantage of the argument and debate between Grand De Lee and Rachel, she wanted to get things straight. She looked at Khun's lighthouse which was supposed to contain Beta and looked at it. "Beta, you should come out now."
"Why should we get him out? He's doing fine in the lighthouse."
"In order to prevent your lighthouse from getting destroyed, I changed the future slightly and I need to keep it in order again" said Charlotte. "So, get him out so that he could help us later on."
Raisin, "........."
The power of guides didn't work in that Floor of Death....but it seemed like that rule didn't work for Charlotte. Well, it wasn't like having his power back has any difference anyway. With both Charlotte's and Bam's presences, the future that he saw could always change within a blink of an eye. He was used with that kind of thing already.
Meanwhile, knowing Rachel wasn't standing on the same side with him, Grand De Lee had made up his mind. Even though she and Charlotte might be their saviors, but there was no way that their saviors will disagree in the said destiny.
Therefore, he said to Rachel rather coldly, "Then you have to die as well."
"Kill me?! What do you mean by it?! I'm the savior who you guys have been waiting!" argued Rachel. "I'm the reason you've been trapped until now!"
"Well, I can't say for sure that you are our savior."
"What?!"
"As you said, we sacrificed countless of hours waiting for the savior. However....since you deny that, I don't think you are our savior!!" said Grand De Lee and pointed his weapon to Rachel.
"Are you guys insane?! So I'm saying stop making that sacrifice! Stop all of this and get out of here now!" she shouted, unaware of the danger around her. "Nobody wants that sacrifice anymore! If you guys give up on all that, Hell Joe won't need to stay around here any longer! And if Hell Joe leaves, I'll be able to get the thorn fragment!"
Grand De Lee frowned even deeper.
"That's enough you fake savior!" Grand De Lee shouted. "I'll never give up on the thorn fragment!! We're going to stay here and keep guarding the thorn!!"
Rachel gritted her teeth.
"SO BUILDING ME AS YOUR SAVIOR WAS YOUR PLAN ALL ALONG!" Rachel angrily shouted at Grand De Lee. "You can't defeat Hell Joe so you wanted to borrow our power!! The thorn-- the savior, it was all excuses for you to keep everyone trapped here!!"
Charlotte sharpened her gaze. It was going to happen soon. She gathered her strength at her legs, ready to jump any time.
"SHUT IT UP!" Grand De Lee shouted again and extended his hand. "You're just fake! HOW DARE YOU BELITTLE OUR NOBLE SACRIFICE?!"
Beta who had left Khun's lighthouse noticed that there was something wrong. He noticed that Rachel's life was in danger.
"Hey!" he called Rachel, though Rachel looked like she was unaware of it. "Stop arguing with him-- and watch out!"
Less than a second after Beta shouted, Charlotte leapt towards Rachel as far as she can.
[Time Manipulation Skill- Acceleration]
With acceleration, her speed will increase and it will give her bigger chance to reach out for Rachel before Grand De Lee could.
"DIE!"
Something that looked like a bee with sharp sting on it flew towards Rachel, aiming for Rachel's neck. That bee- like thing has been waiting for this moment, being invisible so that no one would notice it. Even Nathan was too distracted with the chaos and argument between Rachel and Grand De Lee.
Charlotte knew that her speed wouldn't be enough for her to catch Rachel, but her fan could. Right at the same time the bee thing showed itself, she had thrown her fan as far and fast as she could.
"Charlotte?!"
As the result, her fan fortunately managed to block the bee from hurting Rachel. Added by her speed, Charlotte caught Rachel and moved farther away from Grand De Lee. She was carrying the woman who she despised the most on her arms.
Rachel didn't expect Charlotte would be the one who save her considering how bad she wanted her to die. Neither of them expected that. Charlotte did that movement swiftly and it was as if she had planned that movement for some time despite of the injury given by Grand De Lee that was supposed to bother her.
"Charlotte......" Not even Khun could understand the reason behind her ambiguous action.
≪ ◦ ❖ ◦ ≫
This author has something to say.....
First. After around one or two months, I have finally finished rewriting this fan fiction and personally I thought that this one is better than the former one. To be honest, this fan fiction is supposed to be simple......but "magically" and "mysteriously" I've made this fan fiction became more complicated than how it was supposed to. I still can't remember how on earth I made this fan fiction became more complicated than the original idea.
Second. I have learnt my mistake for updating too quickly and ignored other things like homework. Not only that it affected my grades, it also made lots of people feel inconvenient right? In order to prevent that, I was planning to update this fan fiction regularly......though I'm still confused whether I should update once every two weeks or twice a month.
Thank you for everyone who have supported this book so far. Without you guys, this book wouldn't have existed and reached this far. Have a nice day everyone!! o(〃^▽^〃)o

Paths of the Chosen (Rewritten, Revised, and Reinvigorated)
Daniel Stewart was chosen to alpha test a brand new Immersive VR game, "The Realms". What he doesn't know is that he has also been Chosen by one of the Powers of a far-off world, and is now a pawn in a game much bigger than any he thought he would ever participate in. Will he survive and thrive in this strange new world, or will he stumble and fall, shattered by the ambitions of another? Does he have what it takes to walk the Paths of the Chosen?---Inspired by the Chaos Seeds novels, TheDespaxas's The Gamer, and a wide variety of games and books, although the world, characters, and systems are my own. Expect high fantasy, magic, combat and intrigue, love and loss, grief and passion. This story is intended for adult audiences and contains explicit sexual content, profanity, and violence (including sexual violence, although not by the protagonist and not as a focus of the story). Chapters with such content will be clearly marked, and all explicit sexual content will be behind spoiler tags. I prefer my stories to have happy endings, and especially in these uncertain times, I feel that it is important to maintain hope. While this tale will reach some dark places, I promise to you that, when all is said and done, the villains will be justly punished and the heroes will prevail and prosper. Remember: it is darkest before dawn, but dawn always comes. Please note also that although this story does not have the [Harem] tag, it does have an extremely slow build into a polyamorous relationship. Additionally, starting with Champion (book two of the series), the [Multiple Lead Characters], [Female Lead], and [Non-Human Lead] tags would also apply to varying degrees. This is a complete, ground-up rewrite of the original Paths of the Chosen, following feedback from here and elsewhere. It is now written in the third-person limited omniscient perspective and in the past tense. In addition, while the major plot beats are unchanged, most of what comes between them has been reconsidered and rewritten, with pacing and characterization as a special focus.---Update schedule: 2 chapters per week (Monday and Thursday), not counting bonus chapters. Chapter length is roughly 2,500 words on average, +/- 1,000 words. Chapters with explicit content tend to be longer so that they are still worth reading for those who would prefer a fade to black. --- Cover art by Agri Karuniawan (@artofagri).
