- Beta -

Sophia, she was the scientist who took care of Horyang and Casano when they were young. She was the one who taught them lots of things. She was also the one who gave them their names. When Charlotte heard that name from Horyang's story, she didn't expect that she would see her at this moment.

Sophia wore the white uniform like a scientist or researcher with tan skin, brown hair and eyes. She appeared to be an ordinary woman without anything special and she came with the people from Workshop who carried weapons.

Charlotte remembered that there was a woman who stopped Beta and told him to calm down. But her efforts were futile as Beta was determined to have all of them buried there. But for Charlotte, she came at the right time as it gave her more time to think about the detail that she missed.

And when she thought about it, she smiled and clapped her hands, "THAT'S IT!!"

"What?" Khun looked at her, wanting to know what she had figured out.

"Khun, has the ugly snake withdraw from the semifinals?" Charlotte asked him.

The ugly snake was Miya, the gambler who approached him before in the Video Room. Khun didn't waste a second as he began to check it out and then discovered that she had given up. He didn't notice it before as he turned off the communication! Once he learnt about it, he immediately told Shibisu's Team to surrender.

There were two teams left. If Shibisu surrenders, then their team would be the winner and then they won't have to wait for 5 minutes to get Bam summoned. He would come instantly without loading as he would be their prize. Knowing that it would help their friends, Shibisu immediately surrendered without hesitation.

But Beta, before Bam could come, he had destroyed the whole summoning center with his skill. The top of the summoning center was destroyed and Charlotte closed her eyes put her arms on her head so that she won't get hit by whatever that fell because of that explosion.

Surprisingly, by the time she opened her eyes, violet colored chrysanthemum petals shielded her. The others also looked surprised as numerous violet colored chrysanthemum petals only shielded her and not them. Those petals came out of nowhere and out of blue and judging from her expression, Khun was able to tell that it wasn't her skill. But if it wasn't her skill, then who did that?

What happened here?

"Ah....." She opened her right palm as a petal of chrysanthemum landed on her hand gently. She found those petals quite beautiful.

She looked around and discovered that it was Noah's doings. Noah just crossed his arms and said, "You have to be more careful."

She smiled, "Alright. Thank you."

When Charlotte didn't notice it and lifted her head to look at the sky as she was waiting for something to come, Noah turned his head and looked away with a snort.

She has been waiting for something to come. And soon enough, there was a light coming from the sky.

Turned out, Shibisu didn't surrender the game late. He surrendered the game right on time.

"BAM!"

"The game has ended. Loading complete" the system said. "Summoning of Jue Viole Grace complete."

The Slayer Candidate Jue Viole Grace had arrived in the store.

When Charlotte saw her brother there, she couldn't help but to smile and wrap her arms and then jumped at him. Of course Bam caught her right on time and smiled back at her.

"Brother, you are back!" Charlotte said. "This is good!"

"Yes, this is indeed a good thing" Bam agreed with her. He did smile, but in the same time, he was a bit sad. Knowing that his sister was hurt, he felt sad.

"The completed one...." Beta gritted his teeth when he saw him coming.

"BLACK TURTLE!!" Rak loudly shouted and called his turtle in which he responded.

Sophia looked at Khun's lighthouse. His lighthouses blocked Beta's attack before and now , those three lighthouses were slightly damaged. It won't be easy to hold on for a long time, Khun thought.

Bam looked at Beta. He was sure that he had never seen this guy before. They just met recently in the Workshop Battle several times and he was certain that he had never done something that offended him. So why would he hate him?

"I told you, it's because I hate you" Beta said. "Anyway, did you crawl out of there just to chat with me? Huh?"

Bam told Charlotte to move away when Charlotte wondered what he was planning. He told her that he was going to fight with Beta and that now she was wounded and perhaps more serious than him, she needed more rest.

"No, this isn't a problem at all! This is just a small wound!" Charlotte insisted. She didn't want to be kicked out and lost the chance to watch this fight between her brother and Beta. She was curious about the thorn that was wrapped with the bandage and how strong it could be. She was curious on how her brother would settle all of this and more. And the most important thing was that she wanted to see their reunion after this. "I don't want to leave!"

Hearing her sister said that her deep wound was a small wound, it kinda irritated Bam as he flicked her forehead.

"I told you to get some rest, not leave" Bam said. "Besides, how could you possibly said that your wounds are small?"

Charlotte rubbed her forehead, "Oh...I misunderstand your words, brother."

Seeing how the person he hated the most was enjoying his time talking with his sister made Beta felt irritated and disgusted. Did he show all of these on purpose to mock him?

When Bam watched how Beta ran towards them, he immediately pushed Charlotte aside and then fought with Beta.

Charlotte who was pushed aside watched how Bam fought with Beta on aside while holding her fan. She called his name worriedly.

"Weak attacks like that....WON'T WORK!!" Beta shouted as he hit Bam. He continued with a mocking tone, "What's wrong the completed one? Your performance is pretty lackluster."

From his eyes, Charlotte was able to tell that Bam had no interest on fighting with Beta. But for what? She didn't know. Although she had spent some time with him, the two of them were different people. But even though she might not understand why his performance was quite lackluster like Beta said, she was sure that no matter what happens, Bam didn't want her to interfere with this one.

His hit that has been blocked by Bam made Bam flew away. Yeon who can't stand it used her flame and aimed it towards Beta while Khun, he jumped from his observer and landed on the sleeping Laure.

"Hey, the game is over now" Khun said towards Beta. "So why don't you stop fooling around and go home? Thanks to you, our long-awaited reunion turned into a mess and I'm starting to get irritated."

Beta snorted, "Don't get cocky."

Towards Bam, he said again, "Good for you, Viole. Although their lives are in danger because of you, your friends are trying to protect. While I.....I lost everything because of you.

Like what the girl had said before, after enduring lots of experiments, only the five of us had survived. Should I call them friends or family? And one day, the researcher at the Workshop gathered all of us in one place and said..."

"Kill each other. Only the ones who survive will be the complete living ignition weapon. The last survivor will be granted freedom."

"Freedom, just that one word drove us crazy. Kill....kill....kill...kill... KILL!" he shouted in anger. "At the end, I killed everyone and I was the only survivor. But eventually my body couldn't survive for a single day without the Workshop's medicine. Yes, everything was a lie. A lie made up just for the experiment...."

Charlotte felt that since he was angry of losing his friends and being deceived, forced to fight his family, he should have blamed everything on the Workshop and destroyed them instead. But then again, there was a serious difference in their power and strength and the most important thing was that it was because the Workshop was the only one who could give him medicine to survive for a day. He had no one to blame to and shifted all the blame on her brother.

"I wasn't allowed to make friends or to have freedom from the beginning. But you want to have it all? Cut the crap!"

She gripped her fan tightly. But no matter how pitiful his life was or that how much he had been through doesn't give him the right to wrong and accuse her brother without solid evidence. In this tower, who hasn't suffer misfortunes and sufferings? It was clear that Bam didn't want her to participate, but to not fight Beta who simply accused him for what he has been through made Charlotte's blood boil. Although his background was indeed sad, but she wasn't in the mood to understand someone.

"Mr. Khun, please take care of Ms. Ehwa and Charlotte!" Bam said and used the Blue Oar to move towards Beta.

"Alright" Khun replied.

"I will kill.....all of you."

With his lighthouse, Khun shielded the others.

"BROTHER!!" Charlotte shouted from behind. "Ordinary attacks won't work at him! Try to cut and pierce it through!"

"Stomp him!"

The gigantic foot that Beta created was blocked by the lighthouse and seeing those blue cubes forming a barrier or a shield, his yellow eyes immediately moved towards Khun for a moment before looking back at Bam.

"Why are you trying to put all the blame on me?" Bam asked. "You also know that....it's not true..."

"What are you talking about? All of it happened because of you."

"I'm not the part of this. The whole thing was organized by FUG slayers and Workshop. You also know that. The is someone else!"

"So what? Are you saying that all of these had nothing to do with you?"

Charlotte patted her fan on her palm and looked frustrated, "Seriously, I have told him that he has been deceived by Emily. Why won't he hear me and end things peacefully?"

"You are Bam's sister and he has always been holding grudge for Bam for years" Khun answered. "Do you really think that he would listen to you and apologize for all this mess?"

Charlotte had thought about it. But thinking that someone was just using Beta to get rid of her brother made her annoyed.

Bam then attacked Beta and made him stunned for a moment. While he did that, he asked, "Then....why did you attack my friends? They had nothing to do with you. You're just a cynical person."

Beta coughed a mouthful of blood and then fell on his knees after enduring such an attack. While Bam, he stood on his ground and finished his words, "You didn't hate me because you wanted revenge. You just needed someone to hate."

Beta wiped the trace of blood from his mouth, "Did you say that....I just needed someone to hate? Stop being so arrogant....." He stood up again, "Don't talk....DOWN TO ME!!"

"BETA!!" Sophia shouted in worry.

Beta was already defeated. His body won't be able to keep up with him no matter how deep his resentment was. But his emotions took over his rationality and it seemed like he was prepared to be buried together with the people there.

Charlotte forgot that since she had killed the spearhead inside Beta's head, then Beta was an intruder in this tournament. And because he had created such a ruckus in this tournament that was hosted by Workshop, then as an experiment test, he would be disposed. He was prepared to die from the beginning and he had no fear about it, even when the people from the Workshop had arrived. In his mind now there was only hatred, his heart was blinded with rage.

"I WILL KILL YOU, THE COMPLETED ONE!!"

Khun's lighthouse then made another barrier to shield Bam so that Beta won't be able to touch him, let alone hurting him.

"Why don't you just stop now?" He asked.

"Let's stop here. Your body has reached the limit. Continuing this fight will only bring misfortunes for us" Bam said to him.

But Beta wasn't hearing as he snickered instead, "Misfortune? I DON'T CARE. AS LONG AS YOU EXPERIENCE THE SAME MISFORTUNE-"

"PLEASE!" Bam said and tried to block his attack again. "Enough!"

Bam might not realize it yet, but with the power of the thorn, he was able to block Beta's attack. With that thorn, he has gotten stronger.

And Beta, he did notice it. Bam was now stronger than him. He was too late. His body also reached its limit. Even if he was in his best condition, Bam wasn't someone who he could defeat anymore.

He laughed.

"CONGRATULATIONS VIOLE!!" He shouted as his voice was getting hoarser. "NOW YOU HAVE IT ALL! FRIENDS! STRENGTH! FREEDOM! WOMAN! YOU HAVE IT ALL! CONGRATULATIONS!"

And then he raised his fist and punched Bam on his face in which Bam didn't dodge. He took the punch without saying anything as Beta cursed him and pulled his collar. He said again with hoarse voice, "WHAT'S SO BAD ABOUT ME HATING YOU? YOU HAVE EVERYTHING! AND I HAD EVERYTHING TAKEN AWAY BY YOU! YOU TOOK IT ALL!

MY FRIENDS! STRENGTH! AND FREEDOM! EVERYTHING THAT YOU HAVE WAS TAKEN AWAY FROM US!"

By 'us', he must be referring to his old friends.

Bam closed his eyes. At this moment, he was quite calm, "No, they're all mine."

"What...?"

"I was trapped in the darkness for a long time after I was born along with my sister. I followed my only light and came to this tower. All the people I met here....the memories I shared with them......everything was a first for me, and they are all precious for me. I've tried so hard to protect them" His eyes looked at Beta and his words were filled with confidence and honesty. "They're mine."

"You....."

"BETA!!" The female scientist shouted again. "Please stop! It's not his fault that you become like this."

"What......? What do you mean...?"

Sophia was the scientist from the Workshop. She might not be powerful and ordinary, but she was still a researcher there. When Beta asked what she meant by saying that Viole has nothing to do with his misfortunes, this made him wonder why she would say that because he had confirmed it with Emily.

Emily told him that it was all because of Viole. They were all sacrificed for Viole, she said. But then Charlotte came and told him that he was a foolish child who believed in gadget and whatever she said. At first, he had thought about it as well but he refused to admit it. But now, with someone else saying the same thing to him made him had no other choice than to admit.

He was tricked by the Emily. Someone was using Emily to trick him so that he would get rid of Viole. Like what Bam said towards him, there was someone behind all of these, the real enemy was hiding somewhere.

He was already hurt physically, and now he received another blow that hurt his mental and destroyed his belief. He spent years hating someone who has nothing to do with the death of his friends and his loneliness. Once again he fell down on his knees and coughed mouthful of blood again.

"Beta, you need injection!" Sophia said.

But before she could do something for Beta, the people from Workshop had lifted their guns and then threatened them. They threatened every single person there and including the winners from the Workshop.

"What's all this?!" Sophia asked in anger.

"We received an order from the authorities to dispose the subject experiment Beta."
