early spring
A chilly cloudy louring sky
Hidden laneway up ahead past sturdy house
with blue two-car garage
a lush and leafy garden, Eden green
that flows out well beyond tall fence
luxuriates into the quiet street
Sudden
Roaring/swearing sounds explode
Flailing/jerking/thrashing bodies half-way glimpsed
Frenzied motion, almost out of sight, not quite
A man, tall and big, broad-brimmed hat, thick scarf
lurches into sightline toward the sidewalk
cursing unseen other
voices rise up fevered, speech blurred, indistinct
weird threnody of wild rage-filled disgust, it seems.
He turns away, then spins at once
Heads back for more
Fists raised up, growling voice so crazy loud
Makes most of what he says unclear
but foulest, cruellest words ring out, bold baritone
And now the other, hidden guy cannot be heard at all

Awana was the ruler of the sky, the God of clouds and weather before almost all of his power and divinity were stripped away and his body forced into an unending slumber. It was not until millenniums later when a tribe of elves who worshipped him in the ancient past awoke him. He was awakened into a new era where ten gods who also stripped away the divinity from other gods like him abuse their powers. They ruled the world with tyranny; only keeping some kingdoms and mortals who worship them safe while marginalizing others. As it turned out, Awana still has a sliver of his previous powers. Now filled with thoughts of anger and revenge, he plans to create a kingdom of heretics cast away by the gods, revive other fallen gods like him to join forces, and finally kill all of the ruling gods. The Bracelet I Got Was More Than I Bargained For
Andrew and his friends, Isaac, Lisbeth, and Cameron meet a shady man on the way home from school. This man promises them adventure on another world, called Calorin, if they are willing to help him with an experiment. This experiment requires the use of a bracelet, one that cannot be removed once bonded to but will give them abilities such as healing or enhanced strength. Thanks to some peer pressure Andrew reluctantly agrees to join the experiment. The friends are soon on their way to Calorin but Andrew notices feelings coming from the bracelet, ones that want nothing to do with the strange man. It is just before they arrive at their destination that the bracelet changes everything for Andrew and he finds himself separated from his friends and the strange man. Stuck in the middle of a forest Andrew will need to find out where he is, how to find his friends, and why the bracelet has been acting the way it has. Author's Note:This story is a sidequel/prequel to Artifice: Tools of the Gods. As it only has one or two connected characters there is no need to read one or the other to understand them.
