No question, missing certain things
Feels bad — though I've seen sundry springs
I'd like to see this one as well
So staying home is . . . less than swell
And stay-home orders show how much
Mere grocery shopping was a crutch
Those solitary interactions
With subtle sensual satisfactions
Moving one's body out in space
The smile on some dark stranger's face
The careful joy of viewing fruit
Or choosing pulse, or leaf, or root
With manifest connoisseurship
A gasp, a frown, a curlèd lip
At radishes with weak limp greens ...
Then sharing pesto ways and means
Post-inquiry, with some smart clerk
(NOT with the one I've deemed a jerk —
These sharp unspoken judgments do
Provide a lift for me . . . and you?
With thought and wit in quarantine
Or drowned, in sugared thank-you streams
Poured out from all the media
All leaves me feeling — kind of bleah . . .
These corporate cries of gratitude
Undo my will-do attitude.)
Some say hindsight's twenty twenty.
Of course I feel the pain life's sent me —
Deaths, and dearth, and emptiness,
Adrift in arid hopelessness,
Forced to go on with shattered heart
Isolated, set apart
To labor far from any friend
Nurse where I love 'til brutal end
See last ties to my mother severed
(Soft nest she made, now gone forever)
Destruction of our family home:
Checked items in my life-loss tome.
But . . . heartbreak's normal, nothing shocking
When only my own world was rocking
From sudden blows of random fate
That kill your dear dreams while-u-wait.

The God in the Grove
The village of Roads End, lying on the outskirts of man’s territory near the Deep Forest, knew nothing about the rising tensions among the nearby countries. They lived in peace, receiving the occasional trader while being largely avoided by the strange beasts that roamed the wood. Though most didn’t believe in the forgotten god whose shrine resided just within the forest, they appreciated the quiet village and the cures and tonics the local temple provided. Maria, a young priestess serving the nameless god, lived happily with her Grandmother in the small temple. Even she wasn’t sure about truth behind the small shrine within the mysterious grove. But when tragedy comes to her home, Maria will be forced to rely on… The God in the Grove… New chapter every Sunday and Wednesday night!

8 198The Tamer is Repulsive
What works in a game does not always work as well in reality, a fact that a certain FDMMORPG (Full-Dive-Massively-Multiplayer-Online-Role-Playing-Game) player discovers when he is yanked from the game-world into another one. His unique set of in-game skills and traits, designed to help him get the most powerful monsters on his side, end up nearly causing his death. Escaping at the last moment, The Repulsive Tamer named Vaile goes on a grand adventure to see those Tamed Beings of his that exist in the New World, but he must be careful. After all, death is but a heartbeat away when you are the ugliest conceivable being to ‘civilized people’ and an absolute hunk to monsters. (WARNING!
