we are dependent

on the ones

that seem

too far away

to grasp

the ones

that distance

or time

or other souls

have snatched

from us

our love for them

is like honey

rich and sugary

yet the taster

doesn't seem to relish

its sweetness

anymore

we await

the day

they recognize

that our honey

is woven with theirs

and that

we need them

we linger

anticipate

day dream

prepare

hallucinate

and wait

for that day

but we might

have to wait

forever
